José Lux has been setting Moissanite stones for over a decade. The Solitaire Halo is the cleaner side of what we make. The design is specific: a large colored center stone, a single round halo tight to it, and a single row of small round pavé running down each shoulder. No layering. No stacking. The green Moissanite sits high on four prongs and the ring tapers to a plain silver shank below. The stone does the work. Everything else gets out of the way.

The center stone is an 8mm Green Moissanite, 2ct equivalent, GRA certified. The halo is one row of round white Swiss CZ, prong-set in a circle against the stone. Each shoulder carries a single row of small round pavé Swiss CZ tapering down the shank. Every stone is hand-set at our Vietnam workshop.

The Center Stone — Green Moissanite, 8mm, 2CT Equivalent

The center stone is GRA-certified Green Moissanite — 8mm round brilliant cut, 58 facets, 2ct equivalent weight. Each stone ships with its own GRA certificate and a unique report ID traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate, not a card.

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and we won’t tell you it is. The green color develops during the crystal growth process — not a coating, not a treatment, not applied after the fact. The color is in the crystal. It does not fade, wear off, or change with daily wear, cleaning, or re-plating.

The tone shifts with light. Under warm indoor light the stone reads as a deep mint green with teal undertones. In direct daylight, Moissanite’s high fire sends rainbow flashes through the green base — blue, teal, and scattered color at the same time. At 8mm and 2ct equivalent, this is a substantial stone. On a slim solitaire halo shank, it sits up and catches light without anything competing below it.

The halo and shoulder pavé are white Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia. The color contrast between the green center and the white surround is the point of this design. The Moissanite is the certified center stone. The Swiss CZ frames it.

The Halo and the Shoulders

The halo is a single row of round white Swiss CZ, prong-set tight against the green Moissanite in a continuous circle. These are small stones — their job is to outline the center stone, not to compete with it. The halo adds just enough spread to make the green read as framed rather than floating. Each stone is individually hand-set.

Each shoulder carries one row of small round pavé Swiss CZ running from the base of the halo down the shank, tapering as the band narrows. One row per shoulder. The pavé catches light as the hand moves and extends the sparkle from the halo outward. Below the pavé, the shank is plain silver — clean, unadorned, narrowing toward the base. The design keeps all the visual weight at the top of the ring where it belongs.

The Metal and Plating

The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. A slim solitaire shank has to hold the weight of the halo and the elevated center mount without flexing under daily wear. José Lux uses a properly gauged blank for this design. Slim does not mean fragile.

Each ring gets a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our Vietnam workshop. Not machine-dipped. The artisans doing this work have been plating silver for years. On a solitaire halo with a slim shank, hand plating gets into the halo channel, the prong bases, and the pavé shoulder rail at the same consistent depth. The finish is even where it matters.

Rhodium is harder than gold and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. Many José Lux customers come back to re-plate after five years. The longest we’ve recorded before a first re-plate is eight years of daily wear. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect how long it holds. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions.

Certification

Every ring ships with the full GRA gemological certificate for the Green Moissanite center stone. The report confirms the stone grade, cut, and dimensions — and carries a unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate, not a card. The same format used in professional gemological documentation.

Warranty and Repairs

The prong settings on José Lux rings are built to hold. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare — that’s by design. Every halo stone, every shoulder pavé position, and the center prong mount is hand-set by our artisans in Vietnam. Not pushed in by machine.

If a stone does come loose or fall out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

CZ and Swiss CZ stones: Re-setting or replacing any halo stone or shoulder pavé stone is always free. José Lux imports CZ in volume directly from our suppliers. We absorb the cost entirely.

Green Moissanite center stone: If the center stone needs replacement, José Lux charges at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier — never at retail. That’s the lowest possible charge. Re-setting labor is always free.

Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit, no conditions.

FAQ

What is a Green Moissanite?

Green Moissanite is a color variant of lab-created Moissanite. The green tone develops during the silicon carbide crystal growth process — not a dye, surface coating, or treatment applied after the stone is grown. The color is in the crystal. It does not wear off, fade, or change with daily wear, cleaning, or re-plating. Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond. The green variant refers to stones where the crystal grew with a green-teal hue rather than colorless.

How does the color look in different lighting?

Under warm indoor light, the stone reads as deep mint green with teal undertones. In direct daylight, Moissanite’s high fire sends rainbow flashes through the green base — blue, teal, and scattered color simultaneously. In shade or cooler light, the green reads as more saturated and even. Against the white CZ halo and the rhodium-plated setting, the green center is visible in every condition.

Is the green color permanent?

Yes. The green color is in the crystal — not on its surface. It grew that color. It is not a coating, surface treatment, or finish. It does not wear off, fade, or change with normal wear, cleaning, or re-plating at the José Lux workshop.

What are the halo and shoulder stones made of?

Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia. Not Moissanite. The center stone only is Moissanite. The halo row and the single row of shoulder pavé are all Swiss CZ, individually hand-set. Colorless and bright — the contrast between the white CZ and the green Moissanite center is intentional. José Lux states this clearly because we want you to know exactly what you’re buying.

How does this ring look compared to a standard solitaire?

A standard solitaire has a center stone and a plain band. This ring has the same proportions but adds two things: a tight single-row halo that frames the green stone in white CZ, and a single row of pavé that runs down each shoulder. Both additions are minimal. The ring still reads as a solitaire from a distance. Up close, the halo and shoulder pavé are clearly visible and add sparkle without changing the fundamental shape. The shank below is plain silver. The design does not pile on.

How does the ring look in person?

The green Moissanite dominates. At 8mm and 2ct equivalent, it’s a large stone, and on a slim solitaire shank it sits elevated with nothing competing below it. The single white CZ halo outlines the green stone clearly. The shoulder pavé adds a line of sparkle extending outward from the halo as the band tapers. The rhodium plated finish is mirror-bright white across the entire ring. The overall look is clean and directional — the green center is what the ring is about, and everything else supports that.

How long does the plating last?

The rhodium plated white gold finish is hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop — not machine-dipped. Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear. Many of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. The longest we’ve recorded before a first re-plate is eight years of daily wear. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop. Whenever the time comes, we take care of it.

What does the warranty cover?

The halo and pavé settings on José Lux rings are built to hold — stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. If it happens: all Swiss CZ stones — the halo row and the shoulder pavé — are re-set for free. José Lux imports CZ in volume and absorbs the cost entirely. Green Moissanite center stone replacement is charged at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier — never at retail. Re-plating is always free.

How does shipping work?

Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the same day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders occasionally see customs delays — José Lux is honest about that rather than promising a window we can’t control. Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, including an incorrect delivery address, a full refund is issued.

Where is this ring made?

Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. Our artisans specialize in silver. The halo row, the shoulder pavé, and the center prong mount are all hand-set. The band is hand-plated. This is José Lux’s own workshop. The origin isn’t a footnote — it’s the reason the work is consistent.
