José Lux has been hand-setting stones for over a decade. The Crystal Swan Pendant is built around a single contrast that makes this pendant immediately recognizable: a polished rose gold head and neck — smooth, warm, with one small CZ eye stone set at the head to bring the figure to life — sitting above a body and wing composed entirely of white CZ marquise stones laid in overlapping rows like feathers. One eye. Bare rose gold neck. Full crystal coverage below. The swan reads in two materials simultaneously, and the line between them is the neck.

The body and wing are fully stone-covered. Every marquise CZ is individually prong-set, each one angled slightly differently from its neighbor, layered in rows that follow the contour of the swan's breast and wing. The result is a feather texture in crystal — not a flat surface of stones, but a dimensional arrangement that shifts as the pendant catches light from different angles. In direct light, the white CZ marquise stones fire from multiple orientations at once. The pendant looks like a swan in mid-glide, wings half-extended, crystal feathers catching every available light source.

The contrast is the design. The polished rose gold head and neck are smooth and warm. The crystal body is bright and multidirectional. The rose gold prong tips visible between the marquise stones tie both zones together in one finish. This is not a pendant with a center stone and an accent setting. The entire lower form of the swan is the setting. Every stone contributes to the feather silhouette. Every stone is placed by hand at our Vietnam workshop.

The Swan — Two Zones, One Silhouette

Zone one is the head and neck. The swan's head is a small, smooth form at the top of the pendant, connected to the bail above. At the head, a single small round Swiss CZ stone is set as the swan's eye — one precise point of sparkle that gives the figure its life. It is the smallest stone on the pendant and the most important detail: without the eye, the figure is a shape; with it, the figure is a creature. From the head, the neck sweeps in the classic S-curve downward and to the right before joining the body. Aside from the eye stone, the entire head and neck is polished rose gold silver — no other stone setting, no texture, no embellishment. Just the warm rose gold surface of the metal itself, mirror-polished before plating so the rhodium layer sits evenly and glows off the curve. The S-neck silhouette is what makes this pendant read as a swan at first glance. It has to be proportionally correct, and at José Lux, it is formed to be exactly that.

Zone two is the body and wing — the entire lower form of the swan, covered in white CZ marquise stones. The stones are arranged in overlapping rows from the breast outward through the wing, each row angled to follow the natural contour of a swan's body. The breast stones sit in tighter, more curved rows. The wing stones fan outward with increasing extension, the outermost stones at the wing tip sitting nearly horizontal to create the sense of a wing in motion. At the wing tip, three to four marquise stones extend beyond the main body in a graduated fan — the part of the pendant that reads as the wing edge in flight.

The transition between the two zones — where the polished neck meets the stone-set body — is the most precise point on this pendant. The first row of body stones has to begin exactly where the neck form ends, with no visible gap and no overlap. The rose gold prong tips of the first body row sit flush against the base of the neck curve. That junction, done correctly, is what makes the pendant read as one coherent figure rather than two separate elements joined together.

The Stones — White CZ Marquise, Full Body Coverage

All stones in this necklace are Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia. This is not a Moissanite piece. There is no GRA certificate. The body and wing are composed entirely of white CZ marquise stones — the elongated oval cut with pointed tips that, when arranged in overlapping rows, creates the layered feather effect that defines this pendant.

Marquise cut CZ is not the default choice for a body-coverage setting. Round stones in pavé are easier to size, easier to space, and easier to set consistently. Marquise stones require precise orientation: each stone has to be angled correctly relative to its row direction, or the feather texture reads as random rather than structured. At José Lux, every marquise stone on this pendant is individually positioned so its long axis follows the natural direction of the feather row it belongs to. That positioning is what produces the layered, dimensional feather effect rather than a flat cluster of elongated stones.

In direct light, white CZ marquise stones produce elongated flash patterns — the light catches the two pointed ends and the broad middle of each stone in three separate bursts rather than the single round burst of a round brilliant. With rows of marquise stones overlapping in multiple directions across the swan body, the light output of this pendant is distributed and complex: the breast fires differently from the wing, the wing tip fires differently from the main wing body. In any light source, the pendant is active across its full surface.

How the Pendant Looks in Person

The Crystal Swan reads on the collarbone as a two-material pendant with a clear figurative identity. The rose gold S-neck is immediately recognizable as a swan's neck. Below it, the white CZ body and wing are bright and fully covered — crystal from the breast through the outstretched wing tip. The rose gold prong tips between the marquise stones stay visible as a warm metallic grid that ties the crystal surface to the rose gold neck above it.

In natural light, the marquise CZ body fires with elongated white flashes across the full feather surface. The outermost wing stones — the ones at the most extended angles — catch directional light at low angles and throw the strongest individual flashes. The breast stones, set in tighter curved rows, produce a denser, more continuous sparkle. The polished rose gold neck above the body catches ambient light and reflects it back as a warm, continuous glow — no sparkle, just the warmth of the rose gold metal itself against the skin. The total effect is a pendant that is simultaneously warm and bright, figurative and jeweled, in one small, precise object.

The rose gold cable chain lies flat at collarbone length. The pendant hangs with the neck curving to the left and the wing extending to the right — the classic swimming swan orientation. The bail above the neck connects cleanly to the chain. The entire necklace — pendant and chain — is one cohesive rose gold piece.

Rose Gold Rhodium Plating — What It Is and Why It Matters

This necklace is 925 sterling silver at its core — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. The rose gold color is rose gold rhodium plating applied over the silver at our Vietnam workshop. This is not a gold alloy, not gold-filled, not vermeil. The silver is the structure. The rhodium is the finish that produces the warm rose gold tone across every surface of the pendant and chain.

Rhodium is one of the hardest precious metals. Standard rhodium plating produces a bright white finish — that is white gold jewelry. Rose gold rhodium plating uses a different rhodium alloy formulated to produce a warm pink-gold tone. The warmth, depth, and consistency of that color depend entirely on how the plating is applied. At José Lux, the rose gold rhodium is hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop by artisans who have been plating silver for years. Not machine-dipped. Hand-done.

Hand-application is especially important on the Crystal Swan Pendant for two reasons. First, the polished neck surface: the mirror polish applied to the silver neck before plating has to stay visible through the rhodium layer as a warm, smooth glow — if the plating is applied unevenly, the mirror quality of the neck is lost. Second, the stone-set body: the rhodium has to cover the prong tips and the metal between the marquise stones evenly, so the rose gold grid visible between the crystal feathers reads as one consistent warm tone across the full body surface. Hand-application achieves both. Machine-dipping does not, reliably.

The conservative baseline for this rose gold rhodium finish is three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. Many José Lux customers wearing rose gold pieces report five years or longer. When the plating eventually fades, ship it back. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions.

The Chain — 18 Inches, Handcrafted Lobster Clasp

The chain is 925 sterling silver, cable-link style, 18 inches in length, rose gold rhodium plated to match the pendant finish exactly. 18 inches is the standard fit for virtually every woman — collarbone length, the right drop for a figurative pendant this size and weight. Every customer at José Lux who has purchased a necklace at this length has been satisfied with the fit. The fine cable links lie flat and allow the swan pendant to hang in its correct orientation — neck to the left, wing extended to the right.

The lobster clasp is handcrafted at our Vietnam workshop, rose gold plated to match the chain. It holds firm during wear and does not release under pressure or vibration. When you want to remove the necklace, it opens cleanly with a single thumb press. Easy when you intend it. Secure when you don't.

Warranty and Repairs

Every stone in the Crystal Swan body and wing is adjusted by hand at our Vietnam workshop. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. That's by design.

If a stone does come loose or fall out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

  • Swiss CZ body and wing stones: Re-setting or replacing is always free. José Lux imports CZ in volume and absorbs all cost entirely.
  • Rose gold rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit, no conditions.

What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — visible deformation of the pendant body or prongs consistent with a fall or hard strike. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who hand-form the swan neck, individually position every marquise CZ body and wing stone, and hand-apply the rose gold rhodium plating have been doing this work for years — longer than most jewelry brands have been selling online. Every stone angle is set by hand. Every pendant is plated by hand. This is José Lux's own workshop, not a third-party factory.

The marquise feather setting on the Crystal Swan body is the most time-intensive stone-setting work in our necklace collection. Each stone has to be angled individually. The feather rows have to follow the contour of the swan body correctly. The wing stones have to graduate in angle toward the wing tip. None of this can be done by machine at the quality level this pendant requires. It is done by hand, one stone at a time, by artisans who understand what the finished feather texture is supposed to look like and have the skill to produce it consistently. That is what you're buying when you buy the Crystal Swan from José Lux.

Your Necklace Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your necklace ships in two layers of packaging. The inner jewelry box holds the necklace securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the necklace itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.

Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your necklace in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.

FAQ

Why is the neck unset while the body is fully covered in stones?

Because the neck unset is what makes this a swan. The S-curve of a swan's neck is the most distinctive part of the silhouette — it is the line that makes the figure immediately recognizable. If stones were set along the neck, that curve would disappear behind stone coverage and the pendant would read as a generic jeweled bird shape. The polished rose gold neck is left bare so the S-curve stays visible and clean. The one exception is the eye: a single small round CZ stone set at the head, giving the figure its defining point of life. One eye stone. No other setting on the head or neck. The rest is warm, smooth rose gold metal — a visual pause between the eye above and the crystal feather body below. The unset neck is not an absence. It is the design feature that makes the pendant work.

What cut are the body stones and why marquise?

Marquise cut — the elongated oval with pointed tips. Marquise stones are used here specifically because of their shape. When rows of marquise stones are laid with their long axes following the direction of the feather row they belong to, the overlapping arrangement creates a feather texture — each stone reads as one feather, the pointed tips of adjacent stones overlapping slightly to suggest layered plumage. Round brilliant stones in the same arrangement would produce a smoother, more uniform coverage. The marquise stones produce depth and direction. That directional quality is what gives this pendant its dimensional feather effect rather than a flat pavé surface.

How does the feather texture work?

Each marquise CZ stone is individually angled so its long axis follows the natural direction of the feather row it sits in. The breast stones are angled in rows that follow the curved contour of the swan's chest — rows that arc from the base of the neck outward. The wing stones shift to a more horizontal orientation as they approach the wing tip, where the outermost stones extend at the lowest angles to create the sense of a wing edge in flight. The result is that the body and wing have directionality: the stones don't all point the same way. The breast reads differently from the wing. The wing tip reads differently from the wing body. That variation is the feather texture, produced entirely through stone placement.

How does the pendant look on the neck?

The Crystal Swan sits at the sternum as a complete figurative pendant — the polished rose gold neck curving upward to the bail, the white CZ crystal body and wing spreading below and to the right. In natural light, the marquise stones fire with elongated white flashes across the full feather surface. The outermost wing stones throw the strongest directional flashes. The breast stones produce denser continuous sparkle. The polished rose gold neck glows warm above the crystal body. The rose gold cable chain lies flat at 18 inches. The entire necklace is one cohesive warm rose gold piece — the crystal body bright against the skin, the rose gold metal warm and clear at the neck and chain.

Is 18 inches the right length for me?

18 inches is the standard collarbone length — it sits just above the sternum on most women. Every customer at José Lux who has purchased a necklace at this length has been satisfied with the fit. At 18 inches, the swan pendant falls at the sternum in its correct orientation — neck to the left, wing extending to the right — visible and centered against the neckline.

Is the rose gold real gold?

No. The rose gold color is rose gold rhodium plating applied over 925 sterling silver. Not a gold alloy. Not gold-filled. Not vermeil. The silver is the base metal. The rhodium is the finish. At José Lux, this plating is hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop by artisans who have been doing this work for years. When the plating eventually fades, re-plating is always free — no time limit, no conditions.

What is rose gold rhodium plating?

Rhodium is one of the hardest precious metals. Standard rhodium plating produces a bright white finish — white gold jewelry. Rose gold rhodium uses a different rhodium alloy formulated to produce a warm pink-gold tone instead of white. Both are applied by electroplating a thin, dense layer over the silver base. At José Lux, rose gold rhodium is hand-applied, not machine-dipped. Hand-application gives control over plating thickness at the detail points that matter most on this pendant: the polished neck surface, where the mirror finish has to stay visible through the plating, and the prong tips on the body stones, where even coverage is what makes the rose gold grid between the crystal feathers read as a consistent warm tone.

Does this necklace contain Moissanite?

No. All stones are white Swiss CZ — marquise-cut, covering the full body and wing of the swan. No Moissanite. No GRA certificate. José Lux states this clearly because we want you to know exactly what you're buying.

What does the warranty cover?

Every stone in the crystal body and wing is built to hold — stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. If it happens with no evidence of impact damage: all Swiss CZ body and wing stones are re-set for free. José Lux imports CZ in volume and absorbs the cost entirely. Re-plating is always free. Impact damage — visible deformation consistent with a fall or hard strike — is not covered under warranty but is still repaired at cost with a clear quote first.

Where is this necklace made?

Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. Our artisans form the swan neck by hand to the correct S-curve proportion, individually position and prong-set every marquise CZ stone in the body and wing at the correct angle for its feather row, and hand-apply the rose gold rhodium plating over the finished silver. The neck-to-body junction — where the polished neck ends and the stone-set body begins — requires precise bench work so the transition reads as one coherent figure. The lobster clasp is handcrafted at the same workshop. This is José Lux's own operation. The origin isn't a footnote — it's why the quality is consistent.
