Handmade Moissanite Double Halo Ring — 10K & 14K Gold, GRA Certified Moissanite Center

José Lux builds the Moissanite Double Halo Ring in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold), in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. Gold weight is 7.22 g in 10K gold and 8.13 g in 14K gold. The center stone is Moissanite, GRA Certified, set in a raised prong collet at the top of the ring. Two halos of Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia) stones surround it — a close inner halo that squares off the round center, and a wider outer halo that follows the ring's shield-shaped face out to its edges. From there, the same Swiss CZ pavé continues down both shoulders, so there's no bare metal left on the face or the sides. Only the center stone is Moissanite; the two halos and the shoulders are Swiss CZ, hand-set stone by stone.

Pavé-setting two halos and both shoulders on one ring is a different job than setting a single row of stones. The inner halo has to square off cleanly around a round stone, the outer halo has to follow the curve of the shield-shaped face without gaps, and the shoulder pavé has to taper smoothly as it narrows toward the band. José Lux hand-sets each section in order — inner halo, outer halo, then shoulders — checking that every stone sits at the same height as the one next to it before moving to the next row. Under the center stone, an open gallery lets light reach it from underneath as well as from above. A ring this fully pavé-set is one of the more labor-heavy settings we build, and it shows in how even the coverage is, corner to corner.

The Moissanite Center and Swiss CZ Double Halo — Center to Edge

The center stone is GRA Certified Moissanite — Color D-FL, colorless and internally flawless, Mohs 9.25. It ships with its own GRA report, carrying a unique laser-inscribed ID traceable to that specific stone. Moissanite isn't a diamond, and José Lux won't tell you it is. It's lab-created silicon carbide with its own optical signature — more fire than diamond, which means more rainbow flash under direct light.

Every other stone on this ring — both halos and the full shoulder pavé — is Swiss CZ, not Moissanite. José Lux hand-sets each Swiss CZ stone at the bench so the inner halo, outer halo, and shoulders read as one continuous surface of light rather than separate sections. Swiss CZ doesn't carry a GRA report — that certification is specific to the Moissanite center. The center stone is the one piece of this ring with paperwork attached to it; the double halo and shoulder pavé are built to frame it, not to compete with it.

Because the pavé runs from the inner halo all the way down the shoulders, the ring catches light across its whole face and sides, not just around the center — turn your hand and the entire top moves with the center stone instead of a single ring of stones sitting apart from it.

The Gold and Karat Options

The band is solid gold — never gold-filled, never gold-plated. José Lux offers it in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold). 10K carries less pure gold and more of the harder alloy metals, so it resists everyday scratching a little better — a real factor on a ring built for daily wear. 14K carries more pure gold, which reads deeper and warmer, especially in Yellow Gold. Neither is the "better" metal — they're two different tradeoffs, and José Lux sells both instead of steering you toward one.

Every karat comes in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. The color isn't a coating — it comes from the alloy formula, the ratio of copper, silver, zinc, or palladium mixed into the gold during alloying. José Lux's White Gold is nickel-free; the white tone comes from silver, zinc, or palladium in the mix, not nickel, which matters if you're sensitive to it.

Every ring goes through four stages at the José Lux workshop before it ships. We alloy 24K gold down to 10K or 14K by hand, in the exact ratio for the karat and color ordered. The band is cast from a 3D CAD design using lost-wax casting, then hand-set — the Moissanite center first, then the inner halo, the outer halo, and the shoulder pavé — and polished to finish. Before it leaves Hồ Chí Minh City, we test the karat with an XRF machine, check for nickel, and stamp the legal karat hallmark.

Certification

The center stone ships with a full GRA gemological report — Color D-FL, Mohs 9.25, and a unique report number traceable to that stone. It's a Moissanite report, not a diamond grading report, and José Lux states that plainly rather than let the paperwork imply something it isn't. The Swiss CZ double halo and shoulder pavé are not individually certified — Swiss CZ is priced and set as an accent stone, not a graded one.

Warranty and Repairs

Every José Lux gold ring carries a lifetime warranty. Repairs are free — for life, no expiration date. Every prong and every pavé stone on this ring is checked by hand before it ships, which is why a stone coming loose from normal daily wear is rare.

If a stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no impact — José Lux resets it for free. Swiss CZ resetting is always free, since José Lux imports these stones in bulk. Moissanite center resetting is always free as well. What's not covered: stone loss from a hard impact, a drop, or a strike against a hard surface. That's not treated as a manufacturing defect. José Lux reviews every case individually before deciding next steps, and if a repair falls outside the warranty, we'll still fix it at cost, with a quote before anything is done.

The same team that alloys the gold sets the Moissanite center, hand-sets the Swiss CZ double halo and shoulder pavé, and polishes the band — nothing about this ring passes through a third-party factory. Full pavé coverage across a shield-shaped face and both shoulders is one of the more labor-heavy settings we build: every stone has to sit level with the ones around it, from the inner halo out to the edge of the band. We've done it enough times to know where it goes wrong, and where it holds.
