José Lux has been setting Moissanite stones for over a decade. The Bypass is one of the most structurally specific designs we make. Two shoulders arc past each other instead of meeting at the base. They cross. That crossover lifts the center stone forward and changes the ring’s entire profile from the side. You see it from the front, from the three-quarter view, from across a table. It is not a subtle detail.

The stone is a D-FL GRA-certified Moissanite, 8.2mm, 2ct equivalent, set in a four-prong mount. A single row of large round Swiss CZ runs prong-set down both shoulders from the center mount to the crossover point. At each crossover, two round Swiss CZ stones sit bezel-set into the shank — one on the front face, one on the back face of the band at the exact point the two arms pass each other. Below the crossover, the band tapers to plain silver. Every stone is hand-set at our Vietnam workshop.

The Center Stone — 8.2mm Moissanite, 2CT Equivalent

The center stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — Color D, Clarity FL. Colorless and internally flawless. 8.2mm round brilliant cut, 58 facets, 2ct equivalent weight. Every stone ships with its own GRA certificate and a unique report ID traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate, not a card.

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and we won’t tell you it is. What it does have: more fire than diamond. More rainbow dispersion in directional light. On a bypass design, the center stone sits elevated and tilted forward by the crossover geometry — that angle changes how it catches light as the hand moves. In direct sunlight, an 8.2mm Moissanite in a bypass mount produces color from angles you don’t get with a flat-sitting solitaire.

The shoulder stones and the bezel accents at the crossover are Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia. White, round or princess-cut, individually hand-set. Well-matched in brightness to the Moissanite center. The Moissanite is the certified center stone. The Swiss CZ is the setting architecture around it.

The Bypass Shank — Crossover, Channel Shoulders, Front and Back Bezel Accents

Most shanks run straight from the center stone to the base. The bypass doesn’t. The two shoulders arc in opposite directions and cross before tapering down the finger. That crossover is the defining structural feature of this ring — not a decorative element. It’s structural.

From the center mount down to the crossover, both shoulders carry a single row of large round Swiss CZ, prong-set. These are not small pavé stones. Each stone is individually prong-set, spaced along the shoulder, visible and substantial on their own. One row. One stone cut. Running clean down each side.

At the crossover point, two round Swiss CZ stones are bezel-set into the shank — one on the front face of the band, one on the back face, exactly where the two arms pass each other. A bezel setting fully encloses the stone in a smooth metal collar, flush with the band surface. No prongs. Front and back. Turn the ring over and both stones are there. It’s a detail that holds up from every angle.

Below the crossover, the shank tapers to plain silver. No stones. The visual weight stays at the top of the ring where it belongs.

The Metal and Plating

The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. A bypass shank holds tension from both directions at the crossover point simultaneously. José Lux uses a properly gauged blank for this design so the crossover geometry stays true over time — not just when it leaves the workshop.

Each ring gets a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our Vietnam workshop. Not machine-dipped. The artisans doing this work have been plating silver for years. On a bypass ring, the plating covers the channel shoulder rails, the bezel settings on both faces of the crossover, the prong base at the center mount, and the plain tapered lower shank. Four different surface types on one ring. Hand plating handles each one correctly. Machine dipping doesn’t.

Rhodium is harder than gold and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, many José Lux customers come back to re-plate after five years. Some have recorded eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect how long it holds. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions.

Certification

Every ring ships with the full GRA gemological certificate for the Moissanite center stone. The report confirms Color D, Clarity FL, Round Brilliant cut, 8.2mm, 2ct equivalent weight — and carries a unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate, not a card. The same format used in professional gemological documentation.

Warranty and Repairs

The prong settings on José Lux rings are built to hold. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare — that’s by design. Every channel stone, every bezel accent, and the center prong mount is hand-set by our artisans in Vietnam. Not pushed in by machine.

If a stone does come loose or fall out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

CZ and Swiss CZ accent stones: Re-setting or replacing any shoulder channel stone or bezel crossover accent is always free. José Lux imports CZ in volume directly from our suppliers. We absorb the cost entirely.

Moissanite center stone: If the center stone needs replacement, José Lux charges at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier — never at retail. That’s the lowest possible charge. Re-setting labor is always free.

Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit, no conditions.

Shipping

Ships free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the same day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders occasionally see customs delays — José Lux states that honestly rather than promise a window we can’t control.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who hand-set your channel stones, form your bypass shank, and plate your band have been doing this work for years — longer than most jewelry brands have been selling online. Every prong at the center mount is adjusted by hand. Every shoulder prong is adjusted by hand. Every bezel — front and back — is formed by hand. Every band is plated by hand. This is José Lux’s own workshop, not a third-party factory.

The bypass shank is one of the more structurally specific designs we make. The crossover has to be formed at the right gauge and angle so the geometry holds under daily wear. We’ve made enough of these to know what holds. That’s not a selling point. It’s just what making this ring correctly requires.

Your Ring Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your ring ships in two layers of packaging. The inner ring box holds the ring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the ring itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.

Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.

FAQ

What is a bypass ring?

A bypass ring has two shanks that arc past each other instead of meeting at the base. One shoulder goes left, one goes right — they cross before tapering down the finger. On this ring, the crossover sits just below the center stone mount. It lifts the Moissanite forward and changes the ring’s profile from every angle. It’s visible from the front, from the side, and from three-quarter view. The bypass geometry is the design — not a surface detail on top of it.

What are the shoulder and crossover stones made of?

Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia. Not Moissanite. The center stone is the GRA-certified Moissanite, 8.2mm, 2ct equivalent. The large round stones prong-set along both shoulders and the round bezel-set stones at the crossover — front and back — are all Swiss CZ, individually hand-set. They’re well-matched in color and brightness to the Moissanite center, but a different material. José Lux states this clearly because we want you to know exactly what you’re buying.

What does ‘bezel-set front and back’ mean at the crossover?

At the crossover point on each side of the ring, two round Swiss CZ stones are set into the shank — one on the front face of the band, one on the back face, at the same position. A bezel setting fully encloses each stone in a smooth metal collar. No prongs. The stone sits flush with the band surface on both sides. Turn the ring over and both stones are there. In direct light, the front stone catches immediately. The back stone is a detail you notice when you look for it — or when someone else picks up your hand and looks.

What are the shoulder stones?

A single row of large round Swiss CZ, prong-set along both shoulders from the center mount down to the crossover. These are not micro-pavé or channel stones. Each stone in the row is individually prong-set and large enough to read clearly on its own. One row per shoulder. The prongs are hand-adjusted at our Vietnam workshop so each stone sits secure and even along the bypass arc.

How does the ring look in person?

The bypass shank is the first thing you see from the side. The two arms arcing past each other, the bezel stones at the crossover front and back, the channel shoulders stepping down from the center — the geometry reads clearly at any angle. From above, the 8.2mm Moissanite dominates. Large center stone, single row of round CZ extending outward along each shoulder, plain lower shank tapering down. The rhodium plated finish is mirror-bright white across the entire ring. This is a ring with architectural presence. The center stone is the focal point. The bypass frames it.

How long does the plating last?

The rhodium plated white gold finish is hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop — not machine-dipped. Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear. Many of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. The longest we’ve recorded before a first re-plate is eight years of daily wear. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop. Whenever the time comes, we take care of it.

What does the warranty cover?

The channel settings, bezel settings, and prong settings on José Lux rings are built to hold — stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. If it happens: all Swiss CZ stones — shoulder prong-set stones and bezel crossover accents, front and back — are re-set for free. José Lux imports CZ in volume and absorbs the cost entirely. Moissanite center stone replacement is charged at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier — never at retail. Re-plating is always free.

How does shipping work?

Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the same day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders occasionally see customs delays — José Lux is honest about that rather than promising a window we can’t control. Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, including an incorrect delivery address, a full refund is issued.

Where is this ring made?

Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. Our artisans specialize in silver. The bypass shank requires more precise forming than a straight shank — the crossover geometry has to hold its shape, the shoulder prong settings have to be placed evenly along a curved bypass arc, and the bezel stones have to sit flush on both faces of the shank at the crossover. Every stone is set by hand. Every band is plated by hand. This is José Lux’s own workshop. The origin isn’t a footnote — it’s the reason the work is consistent.
