I’ve set single halos. I’ve set double halos. Here’s exactly what this one is.

The difference between a single and a double halo isn’t just more stones — it’s what happens to the light at the center of the ring. A single halo gives you one ring of reflected light around the center stone. Two concentric rows give you two rings, at different radii, catching and throwing light at slightly different angles from each other. The center stone is surrounded, amplified, framed twice. You see the center stone first, then the inner halo, then the outer halo. Three layers of light, all round, all radiating from the same point. That’s the visual logic of a double halo.

The face frame is octagonal — eight sides instead of four. The top and bottom edges of the octagon carry a row of round CZ. The four angled corners — where the octagon cuts across what would otherwise be a square corner — are plain polished silver triangular facets. No stones on those corners. That’s the contrast element on this ring. Everything else is set. Those four silver triangles aren’t empty space by accident; they’re high-polish planes that reflect light differently from the CZ surrounding them. The octagon shape exists to create those corners. Without them, you just have a square frame with stones. With them, you get geometry.

The shoulders are structured, not just paved. Directly beside the octagon, a single row of round CZ runs across the top of each shoulder. Below that sits a narrow plain silver rail — a deliberate horizontal divider. Then the main shoulder face: a dense square grid of round CZ, four or five rows deep, even coverage across the full panel. The outer edge of each shoulder carries a single column of round CZ running the full height, framing the panel on the outside. On the finger the shoulders read as wide, structured fields of stone with a clean silver line dividing the edge row from the grid. It’s not wall-to-wall stone. It’s organized stone.

On the finger this ring makes itself known. It sits wide, the shoulders extend across both sides of the knuckle, and the double halo center stands off the finger at height. From across a table you see: CZ, CZ, double ring of CZ, center stone. There’s a lot happening. It reads finished, it reads like something that was thought about. If you want the ring in this collection that will get noticed in a room, this is it.

The CZ throughout this ring comes from certified Swiss import batches — every stone in the double halo, every stone in the shoulder panels, from the same documented lot. Precision-cut for consistent light return. On a ring with this much stone coverage, consistency matters: if one stone in the inner halo cuts flat, you see it. Ours don’t.

About the Metal and Plating

The band is 925 sterling silver throughout — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. It’s the standard for quality silver jewelry, and it’s what we use across every piece at José Lux. The interior is an open arabesque lattice cast — reduces weight without affecting the face. You can see it clearly in the underside images.

Each ring gets a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our workshop in Vietnam. Not machine-dipped. The artisans who do this work have been plating silver for longer than I have, and the result shows — the finish is more even, holds better at the prong edges, the halo channels, and the shoulder panel borders. Rhodium is harder than gold and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air, which is why this finish outperforms standard white gold plating.

In practice, the rhodium plated white gold finish typically holds for around three years of regular daily wear before you notice any fading. That said, in my experience tracking customer orders over the years, the reality is often longer — many customers come back to re-plate after five years, and some have recorded eight years before the first re-plate. How long it holds depends on skin chemistry, how often you wear it, and whether you take it off around chemicals. Re-plating is covered under the lifetime warranty, so the ring keeps going as long as you want it to.

The high CZ coverage actually slows visible tarnishing compared to a plain silver surface — less exposed metal means less contact with air. The rhodium plating helps further. Silver still tarnishes eventually. Warm water, mild soap, soft cloth, 30 seconds. The silver corner facets on the octagonal frame are the first place you’ll see tarnish on this ring — worth cleaning there specifically. A polishing cloth is included with every order.

Handcraft — What That Means Here

Hand-finished at our Vietnam workshop by artisans with 20–30 years of bench experience. The concentric halo setting is the most demanding work on this ring — the inner row has to be set and checked before the outer row goes in, because adjusting the inner row after the outer row is seated is nearly impossible without disturbing both. We sequence the work: center stone first, inner halo, outer halo, then the shoulder panels. Every row is levelled before the next begins. Every ring is inspected before it ships.

Warranty and Repairs

Lifetime warranty covers every stone on this ring — center stone, inner halo, outer halo, shoulder panel stones, top and bottom edge rows. Loose or fallen stone, broken prong, structural damage from normal wear — we fix it at no charge. Re-plating when the finish wears — covered. This ring has more set stones than any other in the collection; the warranty covers all of them. What’s not covered: lost stones you can’t return, deliberate damage, or alterations done elsewhere. If something falls outside the warranty, we’ll still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote first.

Shipping

Ships free via USPS to anywhere in the United States and Europe. Estimated delivery is 7–14 business days from dispatch. Customs delays can add time on European orders — I’ll note that honestly. Tracking is included and sent to you the day your order ships.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. Every stone in this ring was hand-set there. Every band hand-plated, hand-finished — no machine output. The artisans who made yours specialize in silver. That's all they do.

Your Ring Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your ring ships in two layers of packaging. The inner ring box holds the ring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the ring itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.

Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. The only situation we can't guarantee is an address entered incorrectly at checkout. Even then, we refund you in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.

FAQ Section

What is a double halo ring?

A double halo means two concentric rows of stones circling the center stone, one inside the other. On a single halo you get one ring of light around the center. On a double halo, you get two — inner ring and outer ring, both reflecting at slightly different angles. The center stone is the point; the double halo is the amplifier. On this ring both rows are round CZ, set close and even. From above it reads as a target pattern, the center stone sitting at the bull’s-eye.

What shape is the face of this ring?

Octagonal — eight sides. Most rings have a square or rectangular face with four corners. This one cuts across each corner at 45 degrees, creating eight edges instead of four. The four corner cuts become polished silver triangular facets — no stones on those sections. The top and bottom edges of the octagon carry a row of round CZ. The plain silver corners are there by design: they’re high-polish planes that reflect light flat, contrasting with the CZ surrounding them.

What covers the shoulders of this ring?

Each shoulder has a single row of round CZ along the top edge, directly beside the octagon. Below that sits a narrow plain silver rail — a deliberate horizontal divider that separates the halo section from the shoulder grid. Below the divider: a dense square pavé grid of round CZ, four to five rows deep. The outer edge of each shoulder runs a single column of round CZ the full height, framing the panel on the outside. The silver rail isn’t a gap or an oversight — it’s what separates this from rings that just throw stones everywhere.

What kind of stones are these? Are they diamonds?

CZ — cubic zirconia, premium grade. Not diamonds, not Moissanite. The CZ comes from certified Swiss import batches with documentation from the Swiss supplier to our Vietnam workshop. Every stone on this ring — center, both halo rows, shoulder panels, edge rows — comes from the same certified lot. On a ring with this much coverage, stone consistency matters. A single flat or inconsistent stone in the inner halo would read immediately. Our Swiss-certified grade doesn’t do that.

What is a rhodium plated white gold finish, and how long does it last?

Rhodium is a platinum-group metal — harder than gold, naturally white, and resistant to tarnish. Applied over 925 sterling silver, a rhodium plated white gold finish creates a bright, durable surface that’s noticeably longer-lasting than standard white gold plating. We apply it by hand at our Vietnam workshop, not by machine, which gives more even coverage — including at the narrow octagonal frame edges and the shoulder panel borders.

In terms of durability: the finish typically holds around three years of regular daily wear. But in practice, many of our customers come back to re-plate after five years, and some have gone eight years before they noticed any fading. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect how long it lasts. Re-plating is covered under the lifetime warranty — so whenever the time comes, we take care of it.

Does sterling silver tarnish?

Yes, though the high CZ coverage on this ring actually slows visible tarnishing compared to a plain silver surface — less exposed metal means less contact with air. The rhodium plating helps further. Silver still tarnishes eventually — that’s chemistry, not a defect. The four plain silver corner facets on the octagonal frame are the first place you’ll see it on this ring. Clean them specifically: warm water, mild soap, soft cloth, 30 seconds. Dry it immediately.

What does the lifetime warranty actually cover?

Every stone on the ring — center stone, inner halo, outer halo, shoulder panel stones, top and bottom edge rows. Loose or fallen stones, broken prongs, structural damage from normal wear. No charge. This ring has more set stones than any other in the collection; the warranty covers all of them. Email a photo and we’ll send a prepaid return label the same day. About 10 business days turnaround. Not covered: lost rings, accidental damage from drops or impacts, sports use.

How does shipping work?

Ships free via USPS to anywhere in the United States and Europe. You’ll receive tracking the day your order ships. Estimated delivery is 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — I’ll be upfront about that. If there’s an issue with your shipment, contact us directly and we sort it out.

How do I find my ring size?

We make every ring to your size — custom fit. Use our sizing guide and 60-second measurement video to get your measurement right before ordering. If you’re between sizes or unsure, message us first — it’s easier to get it right upfront than to adjust later.

Where is this ring made?

Handmade at our workshop in Vietnam, by artisans who specialize in silver. Hand-set stones across the double halo and all shoulder panels, rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand, hand-finished band. I’ve worked alongside these people for years. The origin isn’t a footnote — it’s the reason the craft is consistent.
