We've been setting stones at our Vietnam workshop for over a decade, and this Halo Ring is built around one decision: go big on the center stone and frame it properly. The center is a 15.0mm round brilliant Moissanite in a fancy blue-green color — large enough that it reads across a room — set on four prongs inside an octagon-shaped halo of Swiss CZ. That's the whole point of a halo setting: the ring of smaller stones makes the center stone look larger and throws its own light back into it.

This is a mixed-stone build, and we say that plainly. The center stone is Moissanite. The halo and the shoulder accent stones are Swiss-certified CZ. We don't blend two stone types to cut cost — we use CZ in the halo because it holds a tight, uniform round shape at small sizes better than large-batch Moissanite does, and we put our size and budget into the one stone that carries the ring.

The shoulders are vertically fluted — a reeded, coin-edge texture cut into the silver — with a small block of pavé-set CZ inset into the flutes on each side.

Turn the ring over and you'll see the detail most people only notice once someone points the ring upside down. We cut the gallery under the center stone open as a lattice basket instead of leaving a solid plate, with small bead-set accents worked into the mesh. On a wide ring built around a 15mm stone, that open structure does real work: it pulls metal mass out from directly under your finger, so less flat surface presses into the skin. That means fewer indent marks on your finger, and less of the pinched, tired feeling a solid-backed wide ring causes by the end of a long day. It's what makes a 15mm center stone comfortable enough to wear every day, not just for photos.

The Center Stone — 15.0mm Blue-Green Moissanite

The center stone is a 15.0mm round brilliant Moissanite in a fancy blue-green color — a color-grade stone, not the colorless Color D-FL grade we use on our all-Moissanite pieces. We say that directly because it matters: this stone is graded and certified on its own terms, not against the colorless scale. It is lab-created silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale, harder than the CZ in the halo around it, which is why it can sit on four slim prongs without extra bulk.

Moissanite is not a diamond, colorless or colored. It's its own material, with a higher refractive index and more fire — more rainbow dispersion in directional light — than diamond has. At 15mm, that fire is the main event on this ring. In direct sun or under any overhead source, the center stone throws color the way a much smaller stone can't.

Every center stone ships with its own GRA certificate: physical document, unique report ID laser-inscribed on the stone, carat weight equivalent and dimensions to 0.01mm, traceable to your batch at our Hong Kong supplier. Not a card. Not a QR code.

The Halo & Accent Stones — Swiss CZ

The halo framing the center stone, and the pavé block set into each fluted shoulder, are Swiss-certified CZ — premium grade, imported in certified batches from Switzerland, not standard commodity CZ. Every import lot has documentation from the Swiss source to the bench where it's set. Swiss CZ runs 8 to 8.5 on the Mohs scale and is cut for consistent optical performance stone to stone, which matters on a halo: every stone in that ring has to read the same size and the same brightness, or the eye catches the one that's off.

We use CZ here instead of Moissanite for a practical reason, not a cost one: a uniform halo needs dozens of identically cut small stones, and Swiss CZ gives us that consistency in the sizes a halo needs. The center stone is where we spend the size and the budget. The halo's job is to frame it, not compete with it.

The Metal — 925 Sterling Silver

The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. A 15mm center stone puts real load on the four prongs holding it, and the fluted shoulders and open lattice basket underneath still have to stay rigid under that weight. We cast this build on a heavier blank than a standard catalog halo ring for exactly that reason — the metal has to carry a stone this size for years of daily wear, not just look good on day one.

The Finish — Rhodium Plated White Gold

Every ring comes out of our Vietnam workshop with a Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish applied by hand. Not machine-dipped. Hand-plated, controlled at the workshop level, checked by the same artisans who set the stones. On this build, that means even coverage inside the fluted grooves, across the octagon halo frame, and through the open lattice basket underneath the center stone — all surfaces a machine dip tends to skip or pool on.

Rhodium is harder than the silver underneath. It sits as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, a number of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. Some have gone eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect how long it holds.

Certification

The center stone ships with its own GRA gemological certificate: fancy blue-green color grade, Round Brilliant cut, carat weight equivalent, and dimensions to 0.01mm, with a unique report number laser-inscribed on the stone and traceable to your specific batch. Physical certificate — the same documentation format used in the professional gemological trade. The Swiss CZ halo and shoulder stones ship with a material authenticity card confirming Swiss origin and lab-created status.

Warranty and Repairs

Every prong on this ring — the four holding the center stone and every one in the halo and shoulder pavé — is hand-tensioned at our Vietnam workshop and push-tested at 5 to 8 pounds before it ships. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare — that's a result of how the prongs are set, not luck.

This is a lifetime warranty. Not a one-year policy. Not two years. For as long as you own the ring.

If a stone comes loose or falls out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

Moissanite center stone re-setting or replacement: Resetting labor is always free. If the stone is physically lost, replacement is charged at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier only — never at retail.

What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — a ring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible deformation consistent with a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we fix it at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who set your 15mm center stone, build the CZ halo, cut the fluted shoulders, and hand-plate the finish have been doing this work for years. Some have over 30 years of bench experience. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every flute is cut by hand. Every band is plated by hand, checked by the person who plated it.

A large center stone changes what the setting has to do. Four prongs are carrying more weight and more visual attention than on a standard ring — if one prong sits a fraction of a millimeter off, it shows immediately on a stone this size. We push-test every center stone at 5 to 8 pounds before it leaves the bench, the same standard we hold for every José Lux piece, large stone or small.

What is the fluted shoulder detail I see in the photos?

The shoulders are cut with a vertical reeded (fluted) texture — a coin-edge pattern — with a small block of pavé-set CZ inset into the flutes on each side. It's not a stamped texture; it's cut into the silver at the workshop. It gives the shoulder a structured, faceted look instead of a plain rounded band.

What's the open lattice underneath the center stone, and does it help with finger marks and fatigue?

Yes. We cut the gallery under the center stone open as a lattice basket instead of leaving a solid metal plate, with small bead-set accent stones worked into the mesh. It's cut, not stamped. On a wide ring built around a 15mm stone, that open structure pulls metal mass out from directly under your finger, so less flat surface stays in constant contact with the skin. The result is fewer indent marks on the finger after a few hours of wear, and less of the pinched, tired feeling a solid-backed wide ring causes over a full day. It also lets light reach the underside of the center stone instead of sitting on solid silver. It's a functional detail as much as a decorative one.

How does the ring look in person and on the hand?

Big and deliberate. A 15mm center stone is a genuine statement size — it sits well above the finger line. The octagon CZ halo adds a second ring of light around it, and the fluted shoulders with their pavé blocks give the profile a faceted, structured look rather than a plain rounded band. In direct light, the blue-green Moissanite throws strong color, and the white CZ halo throws its own separate sparkle around it. This is not a subtle ring.
