I’ve set a lot of iced out rings at our Vietnam workshop. Here’s exactly what this one is.
The structure is what sets this apart. The face isn’t flat — it’s built in descending tiers. Start at the top: round brilliant center stone raised on four prongs, tight square halo of round CZ set around it by hand. Then the face steps down. First tier: a row of round CZ flanking the halo on both sides. Second tier: vertical baguette columns running straight down, with round pavé stones on each side of every column. Third tier: the face widens and flattens into the band, still fully paved. Four separate levels, all catching light at different depths. That’s what ‘iced out’ actually means on this ring — not just covered in stones, but covered in a way that creates movement.

On the hand it reads like a signet — wide, rectangular, presence without bulk. The stepped face draws the eye upward toward the center stone. Everything below it is supporting structure. Turn it under a light and the baguette columns catch it differently than the round pavé. You get two different stone textures in the same piece, at different heights, creating depth across the whole face.

The CZ in this ring comes from certified Swiss import batches with documentation from the Swiss supplier to our Vietnam workshop bench. Not standard CZ. Tighter cut, better light return. On a fully iced setting like this, that quality difference shows across every stone, across the whole face. Standard CZ has no paper trail. Ours does.

About the Metal and Plating
The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. It’s the standard for quality silver jewelry, and it’s what we use across every piece at José Lux.

Each ring gets a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our workshop in Vietnam. Not machine-dipped. The artisans who do this work have been plating silver for longer than I have, and the result shows — the finish is more even, holds better at prong edges and the baguette channels, and sits cleanly along every stepped tier and the inner band. Rhodium is harder than gold and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air, which is why this finish outperforms standard white gold plating.

In practice, the rhodium plated white gold finish typically holds for around three years of regular daily wear before you notice any fading. That said, in my experience tracking customer orders over the years, the reality is often longer — many customers come back to re-plate after five years, and some have recorded eight years before the first re-plate. How long it holds depends on skin chemistry, how often you wear it, and whether you take it off around chemicals. Re-plating is covered under the lifetime warranty, so the ring keeps going as long as you want it to.

To keep it looking its best: warm water, a drop of mild soap, 30 seconds with a soft cloth. Dry it right away. That’s the whole routine. A polishing cloth is included with every order.
Handcraft — What That Means Here
Hand-finished at our Vietnam workshop by artisans with 20–30 years of bench experience. Setting this many stones in a stepped structure is exacting work — each tier has to align before the next one goes in. Every baguette column is set and checked for evenness by hand. Every prong tensioned individually. There is no automated way to do this right. A person checks the ring before it boxes.
Warranty and Repairs
Lifetime warranty. Here’s what that means in practice: if the silver breaks, I repair it. If a stone works loose or falls out, I reset it. Re-plating when the finish wears — covered. Normal wear covered under the lifetime warranty — always. What’s not covered: lost stones you can’t return, deliberate damage, or alterations done elsewhere. If something falls outside the warranty, we’ll still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote first.
Shipping
Ships free via USPS to anywhere in the United States and Europe. Estimated delivery is 7–14 business days from dispatch. Customs delays can add time on European orders — I’ll note that honestly. Tracking is included and sent to you the day your order ships.

Our Workshop
Our workshop is in Vietnam. Every stone in this ring was hand-set there. Every band hand-plated, hand-finished — no machine output. The artisans who made yours specialize in silver. That's all they do.
Your Ring Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your ring ships in two layers of packaging. The inner ring box holds the ring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the ring itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.
Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. The only situation we can't guarantee is an address entered incorrectly at checkout. Even then, we refund you in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.
FAQ Section
What does ‘iced out’ mean on this ring?
It means the entire face is covered in stones — no bare silver visible on the front. On this ring specifically, that’s round brilliant CZ in a tight square halo around the center stone, baguette-cut CZ running in vertical columns down both shoulders, and round pavé filling every gap between them. Four descending tiers from the center down to the band, all fully set. The coverage is total. That’s what iced out means — not a style label, a description of what you’re looking at.
What makes this different from a regular halo ring?
The face structure. A standard halo ring has a center stone, a halo around it, and a band. This ring has four tiers: center stone, halo, first shoulder row, then baguette columns running vertically the full length of both shoulders with round pavé flanking each column. The face is wide and stepped — it narrows as it rises toward the center. That stepped geometry is what makes this ring read as architectural rather than decorative.
Is this ring made from real silver?
Yes. 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. That’s the industry standard for quality silver jewelry. Every ring is hand-finished and stamped at our Vietnam workshop.
What kind of stones are these? Are they diamonds?
They’re CZ — cubic zirconia. Not diamonds, not Moissanite. The CZ we use comes from certified Swiss import batches with documentation from the Swiss supplier to our Vietnam workshop. Precision-cut for better light return. On a fully set ring like this, that quality difference shows across every stone on the face.
What is a rhodium plated white gold finish, and how long does it last?
Rhodium is a platinum-group metal — harder than gold, naturally white, and resistant to tarnish. Applied over 925 sterling silver, a rhodium plated white gold finish creates a bright, durable surface that’s noticeably longer-lasting than standard white gold plating. We apply it by hand at our Vietnam workshop, not by machine, which gives more even coverage at the details — including across every tier of the stepped face.
In terms of durability: the finish typically holds around three years of regular daily wear. But in practice, many of our customers come back to re-plate after five years, and some have gone eight years before they noticed any fading. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect how long it lasts. Re-plating is covered under the lifetime warranty — so whenever the time comes, we take care of it.
Does sterling silver tarnish?
Yes. 925 sterling silver reacts with air, moisture, and skin chemistry over time — that’s chemistry, not a defect. The rhodium plated white gold finish slows this down significantly. When the plating eventually wears, cleaning is straightforward: warm water, a drop of mild soap, 30 seconds with a soft cloth, dry it immediately.
What does the lifetime warranty actually cover?
If the silver breaks, I repair it. If a stone works loose or falls out, I reset it. Re-plating when the finish wears — covered. Normal wear covered — always. What’s not covered: lost stones you can’t return, accidental damage, or alterations done by someone else. If something falls outside the warranty, we’ll still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote before we do anything.
