I’ve set a lot of rings at our Vietnam workshop. Here’s exactly what makes this one different.
The center stone is princess-cut — a square-faceted CZ with sharp corners and a flat table that reflects light in broad flashes rather than points. I set it in a bezel frame: a low metal wall that wraps all four sides of the stone flush to the surface. No exposed prongs. The stone sits contained and level within its frame, face-up, showing the full square face. That flush setting is deliberate — it keeps the top of the ring clean and flat, and it protects the corners of the cut, which is where a princess stone is most vulnerable.

Around the bezel frame runs a single row of round CZ — a square halo that mirrors the geometry of the center stone. The halo stones are set close and even; the row follows the square outline exactly. It amplifies the face without changing its shape. The whole top plane reads as a solid square when you look at it straight on — one shape, three materials: the CZ center, the bezel wall, and the halo row.

The shoulders are where this ring makes a different decision from the rest of the collection. Instead of pavé stones, instead of baguette columns, the silver surface on each shoulder is machined with tight vertical grooves — parallel lines running from the halo edge down toward the band. Two columns of round pavé CZ flank the groove panel on each side, one column inside, one outside. The result is a shoulder that has texture and shine without being fully set. The grooves catch light on their edges. The pavé columns frame them. It’s a quieter setting style than the other rings in this collection, and that’s the point.

The face is flat and rectangular — wide proportions, low profile. It sits close to the hand rather than riding above it. On the finger it reads like a signet with stones — presence without height. If you want a ring that shows clearly but doesn’t dominate, this is the one in this collection that does that.
The CZ throughout this ring comes from certified Swiss import batches with documentation from the Swiss supplier to our Vietnam workshop bench. Not standard CZ. Tighter cut, better light return. On a flat-face princess cut set flush, the light behavior is different from a raised round brilliant — you get wide reflective planes instead of sparkle points. Both are correct. This one is calmer.

About the Metal and Plating
The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. It’s the standard for quality silver jewelry, and it’s what we use across every piece at José Lux.
Each ring gets a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our workshop in Vietnam. Not machine-dipped. The artisans who do this work have been plating silver for longer than I have, and the result shows — the finish is more even, holds better at the bezel wall edges, the halo channel, and along the grooved shoulder panels. Rhodium is harder than gold and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air, which is why this finish outperforms standard white gold plating.

In practice, the rhodium plated white gold finish typically holds for around three years of regular daily wear before you notice any fading. That said, in my experience tracking customer orders over the years, the reality is often longer — many customers come back to re-plate after five years, and some have recorded eight years before the first re-plate. How long it holds depends on skin chemistry, how often you wear it, and whether you take it off around chemicals. Re-plating is covered under the lifetime warranty, so the ring keeps going as long as you want it to.
To keep it looking its best: warm water, a drop of mild soap, 30 seconds with a soft cloth. The groove texture on the shoulders picks up grime faster than a plain surface — worth cleaning that area occasionally. Dry it right away. A polishing cloth is included with every order.
Handcraft — What That Means Here
Hand-finished at our Vietnam workshop by artisans with 20–30 years of bench experience. The bezel setting on a square stone requires the wall to sit at even height on all four sides — if one corner is off, it shows immediately. The groove work on the shoulders is cut by machine for precision, then checked and finished by hand. Every ring is inspected before it ships.
Warranty and Repairs
Lifetime warranty. Here’s what that means in practice: if the silver breaks, I repair it. If a stone works loose or falls out — center stone or halo row — I reset it. A damaged or cracked bezel wall — covered. Re-plating when the finish wears — covered. Normal wear covered under the lifetime warranty — always. For the center stone specifically: the bezel setting holds it very securely, but if the wall ever deforms or the stone shifts, that’s covered. What’s not covered: lost stones you can’t return, deliberate damage, or alterations done elsewhere. If something falls outside the warranty, we’ll still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote first.
Shipping
Ships free via USPS to anywhere in the United States and Europe. Estimated delivery is 7–14 business days from dispatch. Customs delays can add time on European orders — I’ll note that honestly. Tracking is included and sent to you the day your order ships.

Our Workshop
Our workshop is in Vietnam. Every stone in this ring was hand-set there. Every band hand-plated, hand-finished — no machine output. The artisans who made yours specialize in silver. That's all they do.

Your Ring Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your ring ships in two layers of packaging. The inner ring box holds the ring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the ring itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.
Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. The only situation we can't guarantee is an address entered incorrectly at checkout. Even then, we refund you in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.
FAQ Section
What is a princess-cut stone?
It’s a square-faceted cut — four sharp corners, a flat table on top, and facets underneath that reflect light in broad, flat planes rather than the pinpoint sparkle you get from a round brilliant. The result is a cleaner, more geometric face. On a men’s ring, that reads as sharp and direct rather than ornate. It’s the cut I’d reach for when someone wants the stone to be obvious without being flashy.
Why is the center stone set in a bezel frame instead of prongs?
A bezel setting is a low metal wall that wraps all four sides of the stone flush to the surface. No exposed prongs. I use it on princess-cut stones because the corners of a square cut are the most vulnerable part. Prongs sit at the corners and can catch on things; a bezel wraps them. It also keeps the top of the ring flat and clean — no hardware sticking up. For a ring with this profile, that matters.
What is the texture on the shoulders?
Vertical machined grooves — tight parallel lines cut into the silver surface running from the halo edge down toward the band. Not pavé stones, not baguettes. The grooves catch light on their edges and add a tactile texture to the shoulder without adding more stone coverage. Round pavé CZ columns flank the groove panel on each side. It’s a mixed surface: machined texture in the middle, hand-set stones on the outside. That combination is specific to this ring.
What kind of stones are these? Are they diamonds?
CZ — cubic zirconia, premium grade. Not diamonds, not Moissanite. The stones come from certified Swiss import batches with documentation from the Swiss supplier to our Vietnam workshop. On a princess-cut bezel set flush like this, you get broad light reflections from the flat table. It’s a different look from a raised round brilliant — calmer, more architectural.
What is a rhodium plated white gold finish, and how long does it last?
Rhodium is a platinum-group metal — harder than gold, naturally white, and resistant to tarnish. Applied over 925 sterling silver, a rhodium plated white gold finish creates a bright, durable surface that’s noticeably longer-lasting than standard white gold plating. We apply it by hand at our Vietnam workshop, not by machine, which gives more even coverage — including along the grooved shoulder panels and the inner band.
In terms of durability: the finish typically holds around three years of regular daily wear. But in practice, many of our customers come back to re-plate after five years, and some have gone eight years before they noticed any fading. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect how long it lasts. Re-plating is covered under the lifetime warranty — so whenever the time comes, we take care of it.
Does sterling silver tarnish?
Yes. 925 sterling silver reacts with air, moisture, and skin chemistry over time — that’s chemistry, not a defect. The rhodium plated white gold finish slows this down significantly. When the plating eventually wears, cleaning is straightforward: warm water, a drop of mild soap, 30 seconds with a soft cloth. The groove texture on the shoulders picks up grime faster than a plain surface — worth a quick clean there occasionally. Dry it immediately.
What does the lifetime warranty actually cover?
Loose or fallen stones — center stone or halo row — a damaged or cracked bezel wall, broken prongs, and structural damage from normal wear. No charge. For the center stone specifically: the bezel setting holds it very securely, but if the wall ever deforms or the stone shifts, that’s covered. Email a photo and we’ll send a prepaid return label the same day. About 10 business days turnaround. Not covered: lost rings, accidental damage from drops or impacts, sports use.
How does shipping work?
Ships free via USPS to anywhere in the United States and Europe. You’ll receive tracking the day your order ships. Estimated delivery is 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — I’ll be upfront about that. If there’s an issue with your shipment, contact us directly and we sort it out.
How do I find my ring size?
We make every ring to your size — custom fit. Use our sizing guide and 60-second measurement video to get your measurement right before ordering. If you’re between sizes or unsure, message us first — it’s easier to get it right upfront than to adjust later.
Where is this ring made?
Handmade at our workshop in Vietnam, by artisans who specialize in silver. Hand-set stones, rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand, hand-finished band. I’ve worked alongside these people for years. The origin isn’t a footnote — it’s the reason the craft is consistent.
