I've set a lot of Moissanite rings at José Lux. Here's exactly what this one is.

I've been setting stones at José Lux for ten years. This ring — the Moissanite Bridal Ring — takes more bench time than most pieces we make. The shoulder structure alone has four distinct rows of stones on each side. Getting that geometry clean and flush takes patience.

The center stone is a 7.2mm round Moissanite, GRA certified Color D, Clarity FL. D means colorless — no yellow, no warmth, just white. FL means internally flawless under 10× magnification. Every stone comes with its own GRA certificate and a unique ID number, so what you receive is traceable and verified. At 100 facets, this stone catches light from more angles than a standard 58-facet round cut. Moissanite isn't a diamond. It's lab-created silicon carbide, and it produces more fire than diamond — you'll see rainbow flashes in natural light that most stones at this price point don't deliver.

The Shoulder Structure

This is where most of the bench work is. Each shoulder carries four rows of Swiss CZ running from the center stone down toward the band — and the way they're arranged matters.

The first row, sitting closest to the center stone, is a single line of round pavé-set CZ. It frames the base of the Moissanite and creates a clean transition from the solitaire head into the shoulder.

The second and third rows sit flush against each other — two parallel lines of princess-cut channel-set CZ running side by side as one continuous block. No gap between them. When the light hits this section, it reads as a single wide band of square-cut stone stepping down the shoulder. Getting two channel rows to sit tight against each other without any vertical shift takes careful hand-setting. If the rows aren't perfectly level, the whole shoulder looks off.

The fourth row — at the base of the shoulder, just above the band — is another single line of round pavé-set CZ, mirroring the first row. It closes the shoulder cleanly and separates the stone-set section from the plain band below.

All stones are Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia, hand-set. CZ is not Moissanite. I want to be clear about that. The center stone is Moissanite, GRA certified. The shoulder stones are CZ. Both are genuine stones with different roles. The Moissanite is the main event. The CZ shoulders frame it.

About the Metal and Plating

The band is 925 sterling silver — that's 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. It's the standard for quality silver jewelry, and it's what we use across every piece at José Lux.

Each ring gets a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our workshop in Vietnam. Not machine-dipped. The artisans who do this work have been plating silver longer than I have, and it shows — the finish is more even, more durable at the details, and holds better at the prong edges, the channel rows, and the inner band. Rhodium is harder than gold and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air, which is why this finish outperforms standard white gold plating.

In practice, the rhodium plated white gold finish typically holds for around three years of regular daily wear before you notice any fading. That said, in my experience tracking customer orders over the years, the reality is often longer — many customers come back to re-plate after five years, and some have recorded eight years before the first re-plate. How long it holds depends on skin chemistry, how often you wear it, and whether you take it off around chemicals. Re-plating is covered under the lifetime warranty.

To keep it looking its best: warm water, a drop of mild soap, 30 seconds with a soft cloth. Dry it right away. That's the whole routine.

Each ring ships with the full GRA gemological certificate for the Moissanite center stone. The certificate confirms the stone's grade (Color D, Clarity FL, Round Brilliant cut, 7.2mm) and carries a unique report number. Physical paperwork — not a digital printout, not a store-branded card.

Warranty and Repairs

Lifetime warranty. If the silver breaks, I repair it. If the center stone works loose or falls out, I reset it. Normal wear covered — always. What's not covered: lost stones you can't return, deliberate damage, alterations done elsewhere. If something falls outside the warranty, we'll still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote first.
