The crown on this ring took us longer to get right than anything else on it.
I've been setting stones at José Lux for ten years. Crown settings sound simple — but a snowflake crown like this one isn't. The prongs extend outward into points, radiating from the center stone like the arms of a snowflake. Around the base of those prongs sits a cluster of CZ stones — not a single row, not a spaced halo, but a tight grouping that fills in the geometry of the crown and wraps the center stone in light from every angle. It's a different visual weight from a solitaire. More going on at the top, without becoming loud.
The center stone is a 6.5mm round brilliant Moissanite, GRA certified Color D, Clarity FL. Colorless and internally flawless — those aren't marketing terms, they're the exact grades on the certificate. 1.0ct equivalent, 58 facets. Every stone comes with its own GRA report and a unique ID number traceable to your specific stone. Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide, not a diamond. I won't tell you otherwise. What it has over diamond is fire — more rainbow flashes in direct light, which inside that cluster crown means the whole head of the ring moves when you move your hand.
The cluster stones around the crown base and the stones on the band are all Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia. Different material from the Moissanite center. CZ is less hard, different refractive index, but clean and bright and well-matched to the center stone's color. Their job here is to build out the crown geometry and carry the sparkle down the band. The center Moissanite is the certified stone. The CZ is everything around it. That distinction matters and I want it clear.
About the Metal and Plating
The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. Three rows of CZ run along the band: one row along the top of each shoulder, and one row down each flank. That's a lot of stones sitting in tension on a silver band. The gauge has to be right or the band flexes and stones work loose over time. We cut ours properly at the workshop. Hand-set, individually checked. Not pressed out.
Each ring gets a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our workshop in Vietnam. Not machine-dipped. The artisans who do this work have been plating silver longer than I have, and it shows in the result — the finish is more even, more durable at the details, and holds better at the crown prong tips, the cluster base, and the pavé flanks. Rhodium is harder than gold and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air, which is why this finish outperforms standard white gold plating.
In practice, the rhodium plated white gold finish typically holds for around three years of regular daily wear before you notice any fading. That said, in my experience tracking customer orders over the years, the reality is often longer — many customers come back to re-plate after five years, and some have recorded eight years before the first re-plate. How long it holds depends on skin chemistry, how often you wear it, and whether you take it off around chemicals. Re-plating is covered under the lifetime warranty, so the ring keeps going as long as you want it to.
Care is straightforward: warm water, a drop of mild soap, soft cloth, 30 seconds. Dry it immediately. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners — with this many pavé stones in the band, the vibration can slowly work settings loose over time.
Certification Included with Every Order
Every ring ships with the full GRA gemological certificate for the Moissanite center stone. Color D, Clarity FL, Round Brilliant, 6.5mm, 1.0ct equivalent, unique report number. Physical certificate — not a branded card. The same format used in professional gemological documentation worldwide.

Warranty and Repairs
Lifetime warranty. Band cracks — I repair it. Center stone loosens — I reset it. A crown cluster CZ falls out — I replace and reset it. Normal wear is always covered. What isn't: stones lost and not returned, impact damage, work done by another jeweler. Anything outside that, we still fix — at cost, with a clear quote before we start.
Shipping
Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking goes out the day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders can hit customs delays — I'll be upfront about that rather than promise a window I can't back up.

Our Workshop
Our workshop is in Vietnam. Every stone in this ring was hand-set there. Every band hand-plated, hand-finished — no machine output. The artisans who made yours specialize in silver. That's all they do.

Your Ring Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your ring ships in two layers of packaging. The inner ring box holds the ring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the ring itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.
Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. The only situation we can't guarantee is an address entered incorrectly at checkout. Even then, we refund you in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.
FAQ SECTION
What makes the Snowflake Crown different from a halo or solitaire?
A solitaire has prongs that grip and step back. A halo puts a single ring of stones around the center. The Snowflake Crown extends the prongs into radiating points like a snowflake, then fills the base with a cluster of CZ stones — a tight grouping rather than a spaced ring. The result is more visual density at the top of the ring without going full halo.
What are the cluster stones at the crown base?
Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia, not Moissanite. The cluster stones around the snowflake crown base are CZ, hand-set individually. The shoulder and flank stones on the band are also CZ. The center stone is the only Moissanite — GRA certified Color D-FL. That distinction is important and I want it clear before you order.
How many rows of stones are on the band?
Three. One row runs along the top of each shoulder. One row runs down each flank of the band. Together they create a triple pavé effect that carries the sparkle from the crown all the way around. It's more stone coverage than a standard single-row pavé, which is why the band gauge and hand-setting work matter here.
What is a rhodium plated white gold finish, and how long does it last?
Rhodium is a platinum-group metal — harder than gold, naturally white, and resistant to tarnish. Applied over 925 sterling silver, a rhodium plated white gold finish creates a bright, durable surface that's noticeably longer-lasting than standard white gold plating. We apply it by hand at our Vietnam workshop, not by machine, which gives a more even coverage at the crown detail, the cluster base, and the pavé band.
In terms of durability: the finish typically holds around three years of regular daily wear. But in practice, many of our customers come back to re-plate after five years, and some have gone eight years before they noticed any fading. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect how long it lasts. Re-plating is covered under the lifetime warranty — so whenever the time comes, we take care of it.
Does sterling silver tarnish?
Yes. 925 sterling silver reacts with air, moisture, and skin chemistry over time — that's chemistry, not a defect. The rhodium plated white gold finish slows this down significantly. When the plating eventually wears, cleaning is straightforward: warm water, a drop of mild soap, 30 seconds with a soft cloth, dry it immediately. One note for this design: avoid ultrasonic cleaners — the vibration can loosen pavé-set stones over time.
What does the lifetime warranty cover on this design?
Band repairs, center stone resetting, and replacement of any crown cluster or band CZ that falls out from normal wear. Lost stones that can't be returned aren't covered, and neither is accidental damage or work done by another jeweler. Anything outside the warranty scope, we still repair — at cost, with a quote first.
How does shipping work?
Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders can run into customs delays — I'd rather tell you upfront than set an expectation I can't meet.
How do I find my ring size?
We make every ring to your size — custom fit. Use our sizing guide and 60-second measurement video to get your measurement right before ordering. If you're between sizes or unsure, message us first — it's easier to get it right upfront than to adjust later.
Where is this ring made?
Handmade at our workshop in Vietnam. The snowflake crown is one of the more detailed settings we work with — the cluster base and the triple pavé band both require more individual hand-setting time than a standard solitaire. The artisans here have been doing this work longer than I have. That experience is in every piece that ships.
