José Lux has been hand-finishing men's silver pendants for over a decade. The Praying Hands medallion is one of the more deliberate designs we carry — a fully paved Swiss CZ circular disc with a three-dimensional sculpted praying hands motif raised at the center in gold plated finish. Two surface materials in one pendant: white rhodium on the iced disc, gold plating on the sculpted hands. The contrast between the stone field and the gold hands is what makes this pendant read differently from a standard medallion.

The pendant ships with a box chain — 50cm (19.7 in), 925 sterling silver, rhodium plated white. At 50cm, the medallion sits at collarbone level — the correct position for a circular disc pendant that reads as a coin worn on the neck. The praying hands motif has appeared in men's jewelry across decades and across cultures. This version is built in 925 sterling silver with Swiss CZ throughout and gold-finished hands at the center.

Every CZ stone on the medallion disc is hand-set at the José Lux Vietnam workshop. The three-dimensional praying hands sculpture is cast separately and gold-plated before being set into the disc center. Two separate finishing processes, one pendant. That's why the two-tone finish is consistent — each element is finished in its own material before the pendant is assembled.

The Pendant Design — Two-Tone Medallion

The pendant is a circular medallion disc fully paved in Swiss CZ. The disc carries two stone zones: a dense inner field of round pave CZ covering the full medallion face, and a border row of slightly larger round CZ running around the outer circumference. The border row acts as a defined edge that separates the disc face from the smooth rim. The stone coverage runs from the outer border inward — no bare silver is visible on the face of the disc other than the raised hands at the center.

The praying hands sculpture sits at the center of the disc, raised above the stone surface. The hands are three-dimensional — two palms pressed together in the prayer position, fingers pointing upward, with fabric-sleeve texture at the wrists. The hands are cast in 925 sterling silver and finished in gold plating before being mounted to the disc center. The gold finish on the hands is high-polish — mirror-clean against the white CZ field of the disc.

The bail above the disc is rectangular and set with a double row of Swiss CZ in pave, matching the disc border stone density. When the pendant hangs on the chain, the bail stone coverage transitions into the disc face without a gap or a visible metal break.

The two-tone combination — white rhodium CZ disc, gold-plated hands — is the defining visual of this pendant. In direct light, the gold hands catch warm light independently of the white CZ field around them. The white stones scatter light in multiple directions. The gold hands throw a unified warm reflection. The two light characters read against each other in the same pendant face.

The Gold Plated Praying Hands — Material and Finish

The praying hands sculpture is gold plated over a 925 sterling silver base. The gold plating is applied to the hands separately before they are mounted to the disc — not applied to the assembled pendant. Separate application is what keeps the gold finish on the hands clean without rhodium overspray on the gold surface or gold overspray on the CZ field. The result is a clean edge between the two finish zones.

The hands carry finger-by-finger sculpt detail across the full surface. The wrist area has fabric sleeve texture. The high-polish gold finish across this detail reads clearly — the light catches differently on the finger ridges versus the flat hand faces, giving the sculpture visible depth even in lower light.

Gold plating durability follows the same general timeline as rhodium: three to five years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable, depending on skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure. If the gold finish on the hands fades, José Lux re-plates it at no charge — same as the rhodium re-plate policy.

The Swiss CZ Medallion Disc

The medallion disc is fully paved in Swiss CZ — round brilliant cut stones set in micro pave across the full face. The inner field carries consistent stone coverage from the hands outward to the border row. The border row uses slightly larger stones to define the disc circumference and give the outer edge a clean, finished look.

Swiss CZ is Cubic Zirconia manufactured to a consistent optical standard. José Lux sources round CZ for this pendant from certified import lots with consistent cut and color grade. In a dense pave field across a circular disc, stone consistency is what keeps the surface reading as a uniform white field rather than a mix of brighter and duller stones. Tight-spec CZ from a single lot delivers that consistency.

Every stone on the disc is hand-set individually. Micro pave across a circular disc face — where the stone rows curve as they approach the border — can't be machine-pressed with consistent alignment at the curve points. The artisans at the José Lux Vietnam workshop set each row individually, adjusting stone alignment to the disc curvature as they work outward from center to border.

The Box Chain

The chain included with this pendant is a box chain — square links in a continuous line, flat drape profile, no twist under pendant weight. At 50cm (19.7 in), the chain places the medallion at collarbone level on most men — the correct wear position for a circular disc pendant. Collarbone position keeps the disc face flat and visible rather than angled against the chest. The chain and pendant are matched in rhodium plated white gold finish, both hand-applied at the José Lux workshop.

The Metal and Plating

The pendant and chain are built on a 925 sterling silver base — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. The medallion disc, the hands sculpture, and the box chain are all 925. The two different finish materials — rhodium white on the disc and gold on the hands — are applied over the same 925 silver base.

The disc and chain get a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our Vietnam workshop. Not machine-dipped. Hand application gives even coverage across the pave stone faces, the border row, the bail, and the box chain links.

The praying hands get a separate gold plate finish applied before mounting to the disc. High-polish gold over 925 sterling silver, applied to the hands as a standalone piece before assembly.

Rhodium is harder than gold. Both finishes sit as barriers between the silver base and the air. Conservative baseline for either finish: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. Many José Lux customers re-plate after five years. The longest we've recorded: eight years before the first re-plate on either finish.

Re-plating — both rhodium white and gold — is always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions.

The Clasp — Hand-Finished Lobster Claw

The lobster claw clasp on this chain is hand-crafted and hand-finished at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. The spring mechanism engages cleanly and holds under daily wear — including the weight of a solid medallion disc pendant. It doesn't rattle. It doesn't open unexpectedly. Single-hand operation: press the lever, hook the ring, release. Easy to remove for cleaning. Easy to unhook from the bail to swap the pendant. Every clasp is tested at the workshop before the necklace ships.

Care

The pendant has two finish materials that require slightly different care considerations. The rhodium white CZ disc: avoid prolonged chlorine, bleach, strong household cleaners, and perfume directly on the stone surface. The gold-plated hands: the same applies — gold plating is durable but not impervious to chemical accelerants.

For the disc: the dense pave field collects residue between stones over time. A soft brush with warm water and a drop of mild dish soap, worked across the disc face, around the border row, and under the raised hands where the hand base meets the disc surface. Rinse thoroughly. Air dry fully. Monthly cleaning keeps the stones bright and the gold hands clean.

The polishing cloth José Lux includes with every order handles light surface residue on the chain and the disc rim between deeper cleans.

Warranty

José Lux's goal is simple: your pendant and chain should last as long as you want to wear them.

Swiss CZ re-setting: always free. If a stone comes loose from the disc face under normal daily wear, José Lux re-sets it at no charge. José Lux imports Swiss CZ at volume — replacement stone cost is absorbed by the workshop.

Rhodium re-plating (disc + chain): always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit.

Gold re-plating (praying hands): always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. Same policy as rhodium.

Clasp: if the lobster claw fails under normal daily wear — no impacts, no bending from force — José Lux repairs or replaces it.

What's not covered: visible physical damage from hard impact — disc deformation from a drop, hands sculpture damage from a strike, or stone loss from visible impact. José Lux inspects each case individually and communicates honestly. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we quote the cost clearly before any work is done.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who hand-set this pendant and apply the two-tone finish have been doing this work for years. Every stone is placed individually. Every clasp is tested before the necklace ships.

A two-tone medallion pendant with a full pave disc and a sculpted gold center looks precise when it's done correctly. Getting there is two separate finishing paths that have to meet cleanly at the center: the disc is paved with CZ and rhodium-plated; the hands are sculpted, gold-plated, and mounted. The edge where the gold base of the hands meets the disc CZ surface is where cheap versions show their work — gold overspray on the surrounding CZ, or a visible gap between the hand base and the disc face. José Lux applies each finish to its element separately and mounts them cleanly. The edge is clean. The finishes don't bleed. Because the assembly sequence is done in the right order, by artisans who have done it before.

Your Necklace Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your necklace ships in two layers of packaging. The inner box holds the chain and pendant securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the necklace itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.

Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your necklace in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.

Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders can encounter customs delays — José Lux states that upfront rather than promise a window we can't control.

A silver polishing cloth and a José Lux warranty card from the workshop are included with every order.

FAQ

What makes this a two-tone pendant?

The medallion disc is finished in rhodium plated white gold — the standard bright white silver finish — and the praying hands sculpture at the center is finished in gold plate. Two different plating materials applied to two different elements, assembled into one pendant. The white CZ stone field of the disc reads as white and bright. The gold-plated hands read as warm and metallic. In direct light, the two finishes catch light differently and the contrast between them is clearly visible. That contrast is what defines the pendant's look.

How is the gold plating applied and will it last?

The praying hands sculpture is gold plated as a standalone piece before being mounted to the disc — not plated as part of the assembled pendant. Separate application is what keeps the gold finish on the hands clean with a defined edge against the surrounding CZ disc. Conservative baseline for the gold finish: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure affect the timeline. Gold re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, same policy as the rhodium white re-plate.

Why 50cm and is that right for me?

50cm is approximately 19.7 inches — collarbone level on most men. For a circular medallion disc pendant, collarbone position keeps the disc face flat and visible against the chest rather than angling downward. A longer chain would let the disc tilt away from the body and lose the flat face presentation. 50cm is the correct length for this pendant type. Every customer at José Lux has been satisfied with this length. If you want to confirm before ordering, message us directly.

Are both the rhodium and gold re-platings free?

Yes. Both finishes — the rhodium white on the disc and chain, and the gold on the praying hands — are re-plated free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit on either. No conditions. When either finish needs refreshing, contact the workshop and we handle it.

Why a lobster claw clasp?

For a medallion pendant necklace at this weight, a lobster claw clasp is the most reliable close. Single-hand operation — press the lever, hook, release. Easy to remove for cleaning. Easy to unhook from the bail to swap the pendant. José Lux hand-finishes every lobster claw clasp at the Vietnam workshop and tests it before the necklace ships.

How do I care for a two-tone pendant?

Both finish zones have the same care requirements: avoid prolonged chlorine, bleach, strong household cleaners, and perfume applied directly to the pendant. For cleaning, a soft brush with warm water and mild dish soap works for both the pave disc face and the gold-plated hands. Work the brush carefully around the base of the hands where they meet the disc — residue collects at that edge. Rinse thoroughly. Air dry fully. The polishing cloth José Lux includes with every order handles light surface residue on the chain and the disc rim.

What happens if a stone comes loose?

Swiss CZ re-setting is always free at José Lux. We import at volume; the cost is absorbed by the workshop. Stone loss from normal daily wear in a hand-set pave disc pendant is rare. If it happens without impact damage, contact the workshop and we handle it. What's not covered: stone loss from visible physical impact. José Lux inspects each case and communicates clearly.

How does shipping work?

Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux states that honestly rather than promise a window we can't control. Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit, including an incorrect delivery address, a full refund is issued.

Where is this pendant made?

Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. The artisans who hand-set the CZ pave disc, finish and mount the gold-plated hands, and apply both plating finishes have been doing this work for years. A two-tone pendant involves two separate finishing processes before assembly — both have to be correct individually for the assembled pendant to read correctly as a piece. That's what the workshop does on every piece before it ships.
