We've been setting stones at our Vietnam workshop for over a decade, and this Baguette Channel Set Ring is built around a stone most rings can't carry. A 14.0mm round Moissanite sits on four prongs at the top of the face — a genuinely large center stone — bracketed on each side by a slim double column of baguette-cut CZ set right against the stone, then flanked by a solid grid-block window of channel-set baguettes running down each shoulder. Rounded pavé traces the rail edges and climbs the gallery on both sides.

That grid-block channel is the detail that sets this build apart from a standard baguette ring: instead of one long row of stones, each shoulder carries a tight rectangular window of baguettes set in rows and columns, sitting flush edge to edge like a solid panel of light rather than a single line.

Turn the ring over and the gallery underneath isn't solid — it's an open, cut lattice dome. On a wide, dense build like this one, that open structure does real work: it pulls metal mass out from directly under your finger, which means less flat surface pressing into the skin and less of the pinching, fatigued feeling a solid-backed wide ring can cause over a long day of wear. The Center Stone — 14.0mm Moissanite, Color D

The center stone is a 14.0mm round brilliant Moissanite. Color D, Colorless. Internally Flawless. 58 facets. This is one of the largest center stones in our range, and it carries the same colorless D-FL grade we use across our all-Moissanite pieces. At this size, the stone is the entire conversation; there's no grade to hide behind and no setting that can distract from it.

Moissanite is not a diamond. We say that plainly: it's its own material, lab-created silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with a higher refractive index and more fire — more rainbow dispersion in directional light — than diamond has. At 14mm, that fire is substantial. In direct sun or under any overhead source, the center stone is doing nearly all of the visual work on this ring.

Every center stone ships with its own GRA certificate: physical document, unique report ID laser-inscribed on the stone, carat weight equivalent and dimensions to 0.01mm, traceable to your batch at our Hong Kong supplier. Not a card. Not a QR code.

The Baguette Channels & Pavé — Swiss CZ

The bracket columns flanking the center stone, the grid-block channels on each shoulder, and the pavé tracing the rail edges are all Swiss-certified CZ — premium grade, imported in certified batches from Switzerland, not standard commodity CZ. A grid-block channel is less forgiving than a single row: every baguette in that window has to sit flush against its neighbors on all sides, in rows and columns, with no visible gap anywhere in the panel. Swiss CZ's tighter cut tolerances are what make that consistency possible across this many stones set this close together.

We use CZ for the channels and pavé for a practical reason, not a cost one: a grid-block window needs a large number of identically cut baguettes sitting perfectly flush in a dense pattern, and Swiss CZ gives us that consistency at scale. The center stone is where the size and the GRA documentation go. The channels are there to frame it and carry the visual weight down the shoulders.

The Metal — 925 Sterling Silver

The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. A 14mm center stone is significant weight to carry on four prongs, and a grid-block channel needs precisely cut seats in two directions at once — row and column — so every baguette sits flush and level across the whole panel. We use a heavier blank on this build for exactly that reason — the channel geometry only holds if the metal underneath it does.

The Finish — Rhodium Plated White Gold

Every ring comes out of our Vietnam workshop with a Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish applied by hand. Not machine-dipped. Hand-plated, controlled at the workshop level, checked by the same artisans who set the stones. On a build with a dense grid-block channel and this many stone edges, even coverage matters — those tight seams between baguettes are exactly the surfaces a machine dip tends to leave thin.

Rhodium is harder than the silver underneath. It sits as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, a number of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. Some have gone eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect how long it holds.

The Swiss CZ channels and pavé ship with a material authenticity card confirming Swiss origin and lab-created status.

Warranty and Repairs

Every prong and every channel seat on this ring — the four holding the center stone, the grid-block channels, and the pavé — is hand-set at our Vietnam workshop and push-tested at 5 to 8 pounds before it ships. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare — that's a result of how the stones are set, not luck.

This is a lifetime warranty. Not a one-year policy. Not two years. For as long as you own the ring.

If a stone comes loose or falls out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — a ring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible deformation consistent with a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we fix it at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who set your 14mm center stone, channel-set the grid-block baguettes, and hand-plate the finish have been doing this work for years. Some have over 30 years of bench experience. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every baguette in the grid is checked flush against its neighbors on every side before plating. Every band is plated by hand, checked by the person who plated it.

A grid-block channel is more demanding than a single row of baguettes — each stone has neighbors above, below, and to the side, so there's more room for a fraction-of-a-millimeter gap to show. A single stone sitting even slightly proud or recessed breaks the flush panel look the whole design depends on. We check every row and column by eye before it goes to plating, the same standard we hold on every José Lux piece.
