José Lux has been setting Moissanite stones for over a decade. The Greek Key Solitaire is one of the most structurally specific rings we make — a 7mm center stone elevated on a squared raised platform, flanked on each side by a wide shoulder carved with the Greek Key motif and set with a single row of round brilliant Swiss CZ running through the center of that pattern. The design is architectural, not decorative. The Greek Key is cut into solid silver. The CZ row sits inside the engraved channel. When the bench work is done correctly, the engraving and the stone row read as one continuous element.

Getting that right takes two separate stages: the Greek Key pattern is engraved first, then the stone channel is cut through the center of the pattern, then the CZ stones are hand-set into that channel. Each stage has to be clean before the next one starts. The channel depth has to match the stone diameter precisely — too shallow and the stones sit proud, too deep and they move. Our Vietnam workshop artisans have been cutting this motif and setting into it long enough to know exactly where that margin is.

Look at the profile views in the photos. The center mount steps up from the shoulder level with a clean angled cut on each side of the platform. The inner band is an open lattice structure — visible from the underside — which reduces weight on the finger while keeping the outer frame dimensions solid. Every dimension of this build is a deliberate decision.
The Center Stone — 7mm Moissanite, 1.2CT Equivalent
The center stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — Color D, Clarity FL, Cut Excellent. 7mm round brilliant, 58 facets, 1.2ct equivalent weight. It sits in a four-prong open mount on a squared raised platform, elevated above the shoulder level. Each prong is adjusted by hand at our Vietnam workshop. The stone anchors the entire ring — every other design element points toward it.

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and we’ll say that directly. Its refractive index is higher than diamond’s, which produces more fire — stronger rainbow dispersion when light hits the stone at angle. On a 7mm stone sitting elevated above a wide Greek Key band, that fire is visible in any directional light. In direct sunlight, the center stone catches and throws color from every angle the ring faces. If you want something that sits quietly, this is not the right ring.
Every ring ships with its own GRA certificate — physical report, unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Color D, Clarity FL, Round Brilliant, 7mm, 1.2ct equivalent. Same format used in the professional gemological trade. Not a card, not a QR code.
The Greek Key Band — Hand-Engraved Silver, Swiss CZ Shoulder Row
The Greek Key pattern — the continuous right-angle meander motif that runs both shoulders of this ring — is cut directly into the solid 925 sterling silver at our Vietnam workshop. It is not a surface stamp, not a laser-applied texture, not a mold impression. The pattern is engraved by hand: raised geometric relief stands proud of the recessed background, with clean angular edges that hold their definition under the rhodium finish and over years of daily wear.

Running through the center of that engraved pattern on each shoulder is a single row of round brilliant Swiss CZ, channel-set flush between the pattern rails. These stones don’t sit on top of the band — they sit inside the engraved structure, integrated into the Greek Key design itself. The channel is cut as part of the engraving process. The CZ picks up light from every angle. The Greek Key rails frame the row on both sides, giving the shoulder stones a defined architectural setting that plain micro-pavé rows don’t have.
The Moissanite center stone is the only GRA-certified stone on this ring. The Swiss CZ shoulder stones are precision-cut cubic zirconia, imported in certified batches from our Swiss supplier. José Lux states this directly: two stone types, two different roles, one cohesive ring. The shoulder CZ is there to extend the ring’s light return across the band width — not to imitate the center stone.
The Metal — 925 Sterling Silver
The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. A ring with deep engraving and an elevated center mount needs a properly gauged blank to start. Thin silver collapses under an engraving tool and loses definition in the pattern walls. We use stock heavy enough to hold the Greek Key relief cleanly across the full shoulder width and support the stepped platform without flex. That gauge is also what lets the open lattice inner construction work — you can remove material from the inside of the band without compromising the outer frame because the outer walls are thick enough to carry the load.

The Finish — Rhodium Plated White Gold
Every ring comes out of our Vietnam workshop with a Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish applied by hand. Not machine-dipped. The artisans doing the plating are the same team who cut the Greek Key pattern and set the stones — they know exactly where the finish has to be even and where thin coverage causes problems. The raised relief edges of the Greek Key pattern, the prong tips, and the angled transition from shoulder to stepped platform are the detail points where machine dipping leaves gaps. Hand application does not.

Rhodium is harder than the silver underneath and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of daily wear before any fading is noticeable. Many of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. Some have recorded eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect how long it holds.
Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions. Send the ring in, we repolish and recoat, we return it at no charge.
Certification
Every ring ships with the full GRA gemological certificate for the Moissanite center stone. The report confirms Color D, Clarity FL, Round Brilliant cut, 7mm, 1.2ct equivalent weight — with a unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate in professional gemological format. Same documentation standard used in the trade.
Warranty and Repairs
Every prong on a José Lux ring is adjusted by hand at our Vietnam workshop. The CZ channel on the Greek Key shoulder is cut to hold the stones without play. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare — that’s a result of how the setting work is done, not a general promise.
If a stone does come loose or fall out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:
Swiss CZ shoulder stones: Re-setting or replacing accent stones is always free. José Lux imports Swiss CZ in volume directly from our supplier and absorbs the cost entirely. No charge, no conditions.
Moissanite center stone: If the center stone needs replacement, José Lux charges at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier — never at retail. Re-setting labor is always free.
Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit, no conditions.
What’s not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — a ring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible deformation of the band, engraved shoulder, or channel walls consistent with a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we fix it at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.
Shipping
Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux states that honestly rather than promise a window we can’t control.
Every shipment is 100% insured at full order value. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged, or an incorrect address at checkout — you’re covered in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition or you get your money back.
Your ring ships in two layers: the inner ring box holds the ring securely with a shock-absorbing layer underneath. The outer box protects everything in transit. Nothing shifts. Nothing impacts.

Our Workshop
Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who cut your Greek Key pattern, set your shoulder stones, and hand-plate your ring finish have been doing this work for years. Some have over 30 years of bench experience. The sequence is fixed: Greek Key engraving first, stone channel cut second, CZ stones hand-set third. Every step has to be right before the next one starts. Every prong on the center stone is adjusted by hand. Every band is plated by hand, checked by the person who plated it. This is José Lux’s own workshop — not a third-party factory.
The Greek Key Solitaire is one of the more technically layered builds we make. The engraving, the integrated channel setting, the stepped center platform, and the open lattice inner construction are all separate operations that have to come together cleanly in the finished piece. We’ve done enough of these to know exactly where the tolerances are. The rings that leave our workshop are the result of getting each stage right.

Your Ring Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured
Your ring ships in two layers of packaging. The inner ring box holds the ring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the ring itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.
Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.
FAQ
What is the Greek Key pattern on this ring?
The Greek Key — also called the meander or Greek fret — is a continuous right-angle spiral pattern with roots in ancient Greek and Roman architecture. On this ring, it is not a surface print or a mold impression. The pattern is engraved by hand directly into the solid 925 sterling silver shoulder on each side of the ring at our Vietnam workshop. You see raised geometric relief sitting proud of the recessed background. Running through the center of that engraved pattern is a single row of round brilliant Swiss CZ, channel-set inside the engraving structure. The stone row and the Greek Key design are integrated — cut and set as one element, not two things layered on top of each other.
What is the center stone and what are the shoulder stones?
The center stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — 7mm, 1.2ct equivalent, Color D, Clarity FL, Excellent cut. It is the only GRA-certified stone on this ring. The shoulder stones running through the Greek Key engraving on each side are Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia, precision-cut, sourced from our certified Swiss supplier. One row of round brilliant Swiss CZ per shoulder, channel-set inside the engraved pattern. Two stone types, two roles. José Lux states this clearly because it’s what you’re buying.
What is Moissanite and how does it compare to diamond?
Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and we won’t describe it as one. Its refractive index is higher than diamond’s, which means more fire — stronger rainbow dispersion when light hits the stone at angle. On a 7mm stone elevated above a wide Greek Key band, that fire is visible in any directional light source. It’s a different material with different optical behavior. If you want a natural diamond, buy one. If you want a lab-created stone with strong fire, GRA documentation, and a 7mm spread set in a ring built to last, this is a solid choice.
What is the inner lattice I can see in the underside photos?
The inner band of this ring is an open lattice construction — the structural mass sits in the outer frame and shoulder walls, while the interior is cut away in a geometric grid pattern. You can see it in the underside and profile photos. It reduces the overall weight of the ring on the finger without compromising the outer dimensions or the engraved shoulder structure. The outer walls are gauged heavy enough to carry the load and hold the Greek Key relief cleanly. The lattice removes dead weight from the interior. It is a build decision, not a shortcut.
How does the ring look and wear on the hand?
Wide, structured, and direct. The squared center platform sits elevated above the shoulder level with a clean angled step cut on each side of the mount — that transition is visible in the profile shots. The Greek Key engraving covers both shoulders and reads as bold texture from across a room, as precise geometric detail up close. The single CZ row inside the engraving adds light without competing with the center stone. In direct light, the 7mm Moissanite throws strong rainbow color from the elevated position. The rhodium plated white gold finish sits mirror-polished across the raised pattern edges and the prong faces. This ring reads like architecture on the finger. It is not subtle.
How long does the rhodium plating last?
Conservative baseline: three years of daily wear before any fading is noticeable. Many of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. Some have reported eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions. Whenever the finish starts to change, send it in.
What does the warranty cover?
Stone loss from normal daily wear on José Lux rings is extremely rare. If it does happen: Swiss CZ shoulder stones are re-set for free — we import these in volume and absorb the cost entirely. Moissanite center stone replacement is charged at our Hong Kong supplier’s import cost only, never retail, and re-setting labor is always free. Rhodium re-plating is always free. What’s not covered: impact damage — visible deformation of the band, engraved shoulder, or channel from a drop or hard blow. José Lux inspects every case individually. If it’s outside the warranty, we fix it at cost with a clear quote before anything is started.
How does sizing work?
This ring is made to order, sized specifically to your measurement. We use the José Lux size chart — provided at checkout. No off-the-shelf sizes. You measure with our chart, submit your size when ordering, and we build the ring to that specification at our Vietnam workshop.
How does shipping work?
Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — we state that honestly rather than promise a window we can’t control. Every shipment is 100% insured at full order value. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason — including an incorrect delivery address — a full refund is issued. You either receive your ring in perfect condition or you get your money back.
