The Build

We've built a lot of halo rings at our Vietnam workshop. Most of them don't have this kind of geometry. The Watch-Inspired Octagon Halo is one of the more demanding builds in our range — not because of the stone count, but because of how the structure has to hold together from every angle.

The face is an octagonal bezel that reads like a watch case — flat, architectural, and wide. Inside that bezel, a single round brilliant Green Moissanite sits at center, 7.0mm across, 1.2 carats. Around it, a full halo of round CZ stones set into the inner octagon frame. The outer octagon frame — the one that gives the ring its case-like profile — is left plain. Polished silver. No stones. That contrast between the stone-set inner halo and the clean outer frame is intentional. It controls where the eye goes.

The shoulders — the two sides of the band running down from the head — carry two rows of round CZ stones set in rectangular groups, separated by ridged silver rails that run the full length of the shoulder. The outer row of the shoulder is plain polished silver. Again: the same logic. The visual weight stays controlled. This is not a ring that tries to put stones everywhere.

The shank is wide and flat. It sits solidly on the finger. From the side, the watch-case profile is clear. From the top, the green center stone is the focal point — surrounded by a ring of white CZ, framed by clean silver, with a ridged shoulder that reads architectural rather than decorative.

The Center Stone — Green Moissanite, 7.0mm, 1.2ct

The center stone is GRA-certified Green Moissanite. Not colored glass. Not synthetic spinel. Moissanite — lab-created silicon carbide, color-treated to produce a stable forest green that holds in any light source.

The stone is 7.0mm in diameter, round brilliant cut, 1.2 carats, with 58 facets. In natural daylight, it reads as a deep, saturated green. Under overhead lighting, the facets produce rainbow fire — the same high-dispersion optical behavior that Moissanite is known for, amplified by the green base color. It does not sit quietly. This is not a stone for a ring you want to go unnoticed.

The prongs are individually tensioned by hand at the workshop. Under normal daily wear, stone loss is extremely rare. That is a function of how the prongs are set, not luck.

The ring ships with a GRA gemological certificate for the Moissanite — physical certificate, unique report ID, traceable to your specific batch. Same documentation format used in professional trade. Not a card. Not a QR code.

The Halo — Swiss CZ, Octagon Frame

The halo surrounding the center stone is set with round brilliant CZ — premium grade, Swiss-certified import batch — inside an octagonal inner frame. The stones run the full perimeter of the inner octagon. Every seat is cut to the same depth. Every prong sits at the same height. A halo that reads uneven in direct light is a setting problem, and we catch setting problems before the ring leaves our workshop.

The outer octagon frame — the one that gives this ring its watch-bezel profile — is left unset. Plain rhodium-plated silver. The contrast between the stone-set inner ring and the clean outer frame gives the face a structured, layered look that a full-paved octagon would not produce.

The Shoulders — Two-Row CZ, Ridged Rails

The shoulder structure runs two distinct rows of round CZ stones set in rectangular groupings, the full length of the band on each side. Between those rows, ridged silver rails run parallel to the shank — vertical relief lines cut into the metal that break up the surface and reinforce the architectural feel.

The outer edge of each shoulder is plain polished silver — no stones. This keeps the ring's width from feeling heavy and frames the stone-set interior rows. From the top, the shoulders read as stone and metal working together. From the side, the rail detail is visible and intentional.

The Metal — 925 Sterling Silver

The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper alloy for structural strength. On a ring with this much surface geometry — octagon bezel, ridged rails, elevated prong seat — the metal has to hold its shape. Sterling silver at this alloy ratio does.

The Finish — Rhodium Plated White Gold

Every ring leaves our Vietnam workshop with a Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish applied by hand. Not machine-dipped. Hand-plated at the workshop, checked by the same artisans who set the stones. The result is even coverage across the prong tips, the octagon frame edges, the rail ridges, and the shank — the points where machine dipping leaves thin spots.

Rhodium is harder than the silver underneath. It sits as a protective layer between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline: three years of daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, a number of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. Some have gone eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect the timeline.

Warranty & Repairs

Every prong on a José Lux ring is adjusted by hand. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare.

If a CZ stone on the halo or shoulder comes loose under everyday wear — no drops, no hard impacts — José Lux resets it at no charge. We import our CZ in certified bulk lots. Resetting a stone costs us time, not materials. No charge, no questions asked.

If the Green Moissanite center stone requires replacement, the fee is our Hong Kong supplier's wholesale cost only. Never retail. Re-setting labor is always free.

Rhodium re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit, no conditions.

What is not covered: stones lost due to visible impact damage — a ring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, showing bent prongs or a distorted band seat. José Lux inspects every case individually. If a repair falls outside warranty, we fix it at cost with a clear quote before anything is done.

A watch-inspired halo build with a colored center stone is one of the more demanding pieces in our range. The octagon geometry has to be consistent. The halo stones have to sit at the same depth. The center prongs have to hold an elevated stone without distorting the bezel profile. We've done enough of these to know where shortcuts create problems. We don't take them.
