José Lux has been setting Moissanite stones for over a decade. The Halo Solitaire is the most architecturally composed design we build — a single elevated center stone with a double-frame halo around it, sitting above a wide five-row shoulder band that runs down both sides. The halo is two concentric square frames with softened corners: the inner frame fully set with round brilliant Swiss CZ, the outer frame plain polished silver — no stones, just clean metal that gives the head its structured, watch-bezel silhouette. The geometry matters here. The inner halo has to be tight and level. The outer frame has to sit square. The shoulders have to align with the bezel. Every transition has to be clean. When it’s done right, the ring reads as one unified piece, not three separate elements stacked together.

That's the standard we hold at our Vietnam workshop. The artisans doing this work have been setting stones in silver for years. The Halo Solitaire is one of the more demanding builds we make — not because of the stone count, but because everything has to align with the center stone as the anchor. We've done enough of these to know where the setting fails on cheaper versions. Ours don't fail there, because the bench work is done correctly from the start.
The Center Stone — 8mm Moissanite, 2CT Equivalent
The center stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — Color D, Clarity FL, Cut Excellent. 8mm round brilliant, 58 facets, 2ct equivalent weight. Each stone ships with its own GRA certificate carrying a unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate in gemological report format — not a card, not a digital code.

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and we won't tell you otherwise. It has its own optical profile — higher refractive index than diamond, which produces more fire, more rainbow dispersion in directional light. On a ring with this geometry — an 8mm stone elevated in a four-prong mount, surrounded by a halo that amplifies its spread — that fire is impossible to miss. In direct sunlight or overhead lighting, the center stone catches and throws color from every angle.
The halo around the center stone is built as two concentric square frames, both with softened corners. The inner frame is fully set with round brilliant Swiss CZ running the perimeter — every stone seated at the same depth, every gap consistent. That inner ring of stone is what extends the 8mm Moissanite's visual footprint and blurs the line between center and surround. Done correctly, it makes the stone read significantly larger on the finger. We've done it correctly. The outer frame is plain rhodium-plated silver — no stones. Clean, polished, architectural. It sits as a border around the CZ inner frame and gives the head its structured, watch-bezel silhouette. The contrast between the stone-set inner ring and the plain outer frame is not an accident. It controls where the eye lands and gives the face a finished edge that a fully-paved outer frame would not produce.
The Shoulder Band — Swiss CZ, Five Rows
The shoulder band runs down both sides of the ring from the halo frame. The structure is specific: one center row of baguette-cut Swiss CZ, channel-set with no exposed prongs — a clean run of rectangular-cut stones sitting flush between two metal rails. Above and below that center channel, two rows of round micro-pavé Swiss CZ are hand-set on each side. Five rows total. Two stone cuts. All hand-set at our Vietnam workshop.

The center channel carries the most visual weight on the shoulder — baguette cuts read differently from rounds, flatter and more architectural. The four rows of round pavé frame the channel from both sides, two rows above and two rows below, extending sparkle across the full shoulder width. That five-row depth is what gives this ring its bulk on the finger. It's not decoration on top of a band — it's the band structure itself.
The Moissanite center stone is the only GRA-certified stone on this ring. The halo and shoulder stones are all Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia, precision-cut, imported in certified batches from our Swiss supplier. José Lux states this clearly because it matters when you're deciding what you're buying.
The Metal — 925 Sterling Silver
The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. A halo solitaire with a full shoulder band carries real structural load — the halo frame has to hold the center stone and surround stones without flexing, and the channel walls on the shoulders have to hold the baguette edges without shifting. We use a properly gauged blank on this build, heavier than what you'll find in catalog versions of the same setting. That gauging is why the ring stays structurally intact over years of daily wear.

The Finish — Rhodium Plated White Gold
Every ring comes out of our Vietnam workshop with a Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish applied by hand. Not machine-dipped. Hand-plated, controlled at the workshop level, checked by the same artisans who set the stones. The result is even coverage at the detail points — the halo rail, the prong shoulders, the channel walls, and the transition between the elevated mount and the shoulder band.
Rhodium is harder than the silver underneath and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, many José Lux customers come back to re-plate after five years. Some have recorded eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect the timeline.
Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions. Send the ring in, we repolish and recoat, we return it at no charge.
Certification
Every ring ships with the full GRA gemological certificate for the Moissanite center stone. The report confirms Color D, Clarity FL, Round Brilliant cut, 8mm, 2ct equivalent weight — and carries a unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate in professional gemological format. This is the same documentation standard used in the trade. Not a card.

Warranty and Repairs
Every prong and every channel setting on a José Lux ring is adjusted by hand at our Vietnam workshop. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare — that's a result of how the work is done, not luck.
If a stone does come loose or fall out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:
Swiss CZ halo and shoulder stones: Re-setting or replacing accent stones is always free. José Lux imports Swiss CZ in volume directly from our supplier and absorbs the cost entirely.
Moissanite center stone: If the center stone needs replacement, José Lux charges at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier — never at retail. Re-setting labor is always free.
Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit, no conditions.
What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — a ring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible deformation of the band, halo frame, or channel walls consistent with a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually and communicates honestly. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we fix it at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.
Shipping
Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux states that honestly rather than promise a window we can't control.
Every shipment is 100% insured at full order value. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged, or an incorrect address at checkout — you're covered in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition or you get your money back.
Your ring ships in two layers: the inner ring box holds the ring securely with a shock-absorbing layer underneath. The outer box protects everything in transit. Nothing shifts. Nothing impacts.

Our Workshop
Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who hand-set your halo stones, cut your channel rails, and hand-plate your band have been doing this work for years. Some have over 30 years of bench experience. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every channel is cut by hand. Every halo stone is seated and checked by the person who set it. This is José Lux's own workshop — not a third-party factory.
The Halo Solitaire is one of the more demanding builds we make. The alignment between the halo frame, the elevated center mount, and the shoulder band has to be right. Each element is set sequentially — center stone first, halo second, shoulders last — and every step has to be precise for the finished ring to read as one cohesive piece. We've done enough of these to know where the shortcuts cause problems. We don't take them.

Your Ring Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured
Your ring ships in two layers of packaging. The inner ring box holds the ring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the ring itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.
Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.
FAQ
What is the center stone and what are the surrounding stones?
The center stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — 8mm, 2ct equivalent, Color D, Clarity FL, Excellent cut. The halo surrounding it and the full five-row shoulder band are all Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia, precision-cut, sourced from our certified Swiss supplier. The Moissanite is the only gemological stone on this ring. The Swiss CZ is the accent and shoulder architecture. José Lux states this clearly because you're making a purchase decision based on it.
What is a halo setting and why does it matter on this ring?
A halo is a frame of stones set around the center stone. On this ring, the halo is built as two concentric square frames, both with softened corners. The inner frame is fully set with round brilliant Swiss CZ running the full perimeter — every stone seated level, gaps consistent. That inner ring of stone is what makes the 8mm Moissanite read larger on the finger. The outer frame is plain rhodium-plated silver — no stones. Clean polished metal that borders the CZ inner frame and gives the head its structured, architectural silhouette. The contrast between the stone-set inner frame and the plain outer frame is deliberate: it controls where the eye lands and gives the face a defined edge that a fully-paved bezel would not produce. When the inner halo is set correctly, the transition from the CZ ring to the Moissanite center reads as one piece. When it is not done correctly, you see gaps and uneven stone heights. Ours is done correctly.
What is Moissanite and how does it compare to diamond?
Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and we won't describe it as one. Its refractive index is higher than diamond, which means more fire — stronger rainbow dispersion when light hits the stone at an angle. On an 8mm stone in an elevated four-prong mount with a halo, that fire is very visible. It's a different material with different optical behavior. If you want a natural diamond, buy a natural diamond. If you want a lab-created stone with strong fire, GRA documentation, and an 8mm spread, this is a solid choice.
What is the five-row shoulder band?
The shoulder band runs down both sides of the ring from the halo frame. The center row is baguette-cut Swiss CZ, channel-set — rectangular stones sitting flush inside two metal rails with no exposed prongs. Above and below that center channel sit two rows of round micro-pavé Swiss CZ on each side — two rows above, two rows below. Five rows total, two stone cuts. The baguette center row carries the architectural weight; the four round pavé rows frame it from both sides and extend the sparkle across the full shoulder width. All hand-set at our Vietnam workshop.
How does the ring look and wear on the hand?
Substantial. The 8mm Moissanite sits elevated above the halo frame, and the halo visually pushes its spread larger on the finger. The five-row shoulders — four rows of round pavé flanking one center baguette channel — add real width that runs from the mount down the band. The rhodium plated white gold finish sits mirror-polished across the entire ring. In direct light — sunlight, overhead, directional — the center stone throws strong rainbow color. The baguette channel reads flat and architectural against the round pavé rows, which gives the band layered depth. This ring has presence. It reads from across a room. If you want something low-profile, this is not it.
How long does the rhodium plating last?
Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. Many of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. We've recorded eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate on some pieces. Skin chemistry, how often you wear it, and exposure to chemicals affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions. Whenever the finish starts to change, send it in.
What does the warranty cover?
Stone loss from normal daily wear on José Lux rings is extremely rare. If it does happen: Swiss CZ halo and shoulder stones are re-set for free — we import these in volume and absorb the cost. Moissanite center stone replacement is charged at our Hong Kong supplier's import cost only, never retail, and re-setting labor is always free. Rhodium re-plating is always free. What's not covered: impact damage — visible deformation of the band, halo frame, or channel walls from a drop or hard strike. José Lux inspects every case and communicates honestly. If it's outside the warranty, we still fix it at cost, with a clear quote before anything is started.
How does sizing work?
This ring is made to order, sized specifically to your measurement. We use the José Lux size chart — provided at checkout. No off-the-shelf sizes. You measure with our chart, submit your size when ordering, and we build the ring to that specification at our Vietnam workshop.
How does shipping work?
Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — we're honest about that rather than promising a window we can't control. Every shipment is 100% insured at full order value. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason — including an incorrect delivery address — a full refund is issued. You either receive your ring in perfect condition or you get your money back.
Where is this ring made?
Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. The artisans setting your halo, hand-placing your shoulder stones, and plating your band finish have been doing bench work for years — longer than most jewelry brands have been selling online. The workshop is ours, not a third-party factory. That's how we control the setting quality, the alignment of the halo, and the finish on every piece that ships.
