We've been setting stones at our Vietnam workshop for over a decade, and this Men's Moissanite Bust Down Ring is one of the most stone-dense builds we make. At the center sits a 7.5mm round brilliant Moissanite — Color D, Internally Flawless, GRA certified — raised on four hand-tensioned prongs above a rectangular face. Around it, almost no metal shows. That's what "bust down" means: the face and both sides are fully iced, stone against stone, edge to edge.
Here's the layout. Rows of emerald-cut CZ run across the face on either side of the center stone. Double rows of round pavé frame the top and bottom borders. Then the head steps down to the sides, and each side wall carries its own block — a grid of emerald-cut CZ stacked in columns, framed by strips of round pavé. From the top, from the side, from any angle across a table, the ring reads as solid stone.

This is a mixed-stone build, and we say that plainly. The center stone is Moissanite. Every other stone on the ring — the emerald-cut rows, the side blocks, the pavé borders — is Swiss-certified CZ. A bust down face only works if dozens of stones sit level and cut identically, so the whole surface reads as one clean field. Swiss CZ gives us that consistency. The center is where the Moissanite and the GRA documentation go.

Turn the ring over and you'll see why a ring this heavy on top wears easy. The underside of the head isn't a solid plate — it's an open honeycomb mesh. That lattice pulls metal out from directly against your finger, so there's less flat surface pressing into the skin. Less pressure means no deep imprint line after a long day, and less of the tired, pinched feeling a wide solid-backed ring can cause. It's what lets a bust down ring be a daily ring, not just a weekend one.
The Center Stone — 7.5mm Moissanite, Color D-FL
The center stone is a 7.5mm round brilliant Moissanite — approximately 1.5 carats diamond equivalent weight, which is the standard sizing for a round brilliant at that diameter. Color D, Colorless. Clarity FL, Internally Flawless. 58 facets. It's the same D-FL grade we use across every José Lux Moissanite piece.

It sits in a raised four-prong setting, lifted above the iced face so light can enter the stone from the sides as well as the top. Each prong is adjusted by hand for tension at the bench. On a ring where everything around the center is also sparkling, the center stone has to stand up on its own — height and fire are how it does that.
Moissanite is not a diamond. We say that plainly: it's its own material, lab-created silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale. Its refractive index (2.65–2.69) and dispersion (0.104) are both higher than diamond's, which means more fire — more rainbow flashes in directional light. Put this ring under an overhead light and the center throws color while the CZ around it throws bright white. Two kinds of light on one ring.

Every center stone ships with its own GRA certificate: a physical document, a unique report ID laser-inscribed on the girdle, carat weight equivalent and dimensions to 0.01mm, traceable to your batch from our Hong Kong supplier. Not a card. Not a QR code.
The Bust Down Face — Swiss-Certified CZ
Every stone outside the center is Swiss-certified CZ — lab-created zirconium dioxide, imported in documented lots from Switzerland to our Vietnam workshop. It's not standard commodity CZ. Every import lot has a paper trail from the Swiss source to the bench where we set it.

Two cuts do the work on this ring. The emerald-cut stones — rectangular, step-cut — run in rows across the face and stack into the grids on both side walls. Step cuts show long, clean flashes of light rather than scattered sparkle, which gives the ring its structured, architectural look. The round pavé fills the borders around them, framing each block with finer, brighter points of light.
A bust down face is unforgiving. Every emerald-cut stone has to sit at the same height as its neighbor, square to the row, with prongs tight and even — or the grid reads crooked from across the room. Swiss CZ's tighter cut tolerances are what let us keep those rows level. At 8–8.5 on the Mohs scale, it holds up to daily wear.
The Metal — 925 Sterling Silver
The ring is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. The 925 hallmark is stamped inside the band. A bust down build puts a lot of stone and a lot of prong work into a small surface, and the stepped head has to hold crisp, square edges while every row stays level. We use a heavy silver blank for exactly that reason. The band itself is wide and flat-polished around the back, so it sits solid on the finger without twisting.
The Finish — Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish
Every ring leaves our Vietnam workshop with a Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish, hand-applied by electroplating. Not machine-dipped. On this build that matters: a bust down ring has hundreds of small surfaces — prong tips, pavé borders, the stepped edges of the head, the inside of the honeycomb mesh. Hand plating lets us check coverage across all of them. A dip tends to pool in some corners and skip others.

Rhodium is harder than the silver underneath — about 6 on the Mohs scale against silver's 2.5–3 — and it sits as a barrier between the silver and the air, which is what keeps tarnish off. Conservative baseline: up to three years of daily wear before fading is noticeable. In practice, many of our customers come back to re-plate around five years. Some have gone eight. Skin chemistry, how often you wear it, and exposure to chlorine or chemicals all affect how long it holds.
Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions. Send the ring in, we repolish and recoat, we send it back at no charge.
Comfort — The Honeycomb Mesh Underneath
A wide, stone-heavy head usually means a solid block of metal sitting flat against the top of your finger. That's what leaves a deep red line when you take the ring off, and that's what makes the finger feel tired by evening.
We build this ring differently. Under the head, the gallery is cut into an open hexagonal honeycomb mesh. The lattice keeps the structure strong enough to carry the stones above it, but it removes most of the flat contact area underneath. Less metal on the skin, less pressure, better airflow. The result: no deep imprint line, less finger fatigue, and a ring you can actually wear all day, every day.

Certification

The center stone ships with its own GRA gemological certificate: Color D (Colorless), Clarity FL (Internally Flawless), Round Brilliant cut, 58 facets, carat weight equivalent and dimensions to 0.01mm, with a unique report number laser-inscribed on the stone and traceable to your batch. The Swiss CZ stones ship with a material authenticity card confirming Swiss origin and lab-created status.
Warranty and Repairs
Every stone on this ring — the center Moissanite, every emerald-cut CZ, every pavé stone on the borders and side walls — is hand-set at our Vietnam workshop. Every center stone is push-tested at 5 to 8 pounds before it ships. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. That's a result of how the stones are set, not luck.
This is a lifetime warranty. Not a one-year policy. Not two years. For as long as you own the ring.
If a stone comes loose or falls out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:
CZ stone reset (emerald-cut or pavé): Always free. No charge, no conditions — we import these stones in volume.
Moissanite center stone re-setting or replacement: Resetting labor is always free. If the stone is physically lost, replacement is charged at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier only — never at retail.
Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit, no conditions.
Structural repairs: Broken solder joint, prong failure from normal wear — we fix it, free, for life.
What's not covered: damage from hard physical impact — a ring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing a bent band, crushed prong seat, or visible deformation consistent with a fall. We inspect each case individually. We're not looking for reasons to deny a claim. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we fix it at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.
Shipping

Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking is emailed the day your order leaves the workshop. Estimated delivery: 7–14 business days to the US, 10–18 business days to Europe — customs adds time on that side, and we say so rather than promise a window we can't control.
Every shipment is 100% insured at full order value. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged, or an incorrect address at checkout — you're covered. You either receive your ring in perfect condition or you get your money back.
Your ring ships in two layers: a fabric-lined inner ring box that holds the ring secure over a shock-absorbing base, inside an outer box that protects everything in transit. Nothing shifts. Nothing impacts.
Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who set your Moissanite, lay every emerald-cut row, fill the pavé borders, and hand-plate the finish have been doing this work for years. Some have over 30 years of bench experience. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every emerald-cut row is checked level and square before plating. Every ring is plated by hand and checked by the person who plated it.
A bust down ring is one of the hardest things we set. There's no bare metal to hide a crooked row behind — one stone sitting high, one prong a little loose, and you see it. So we check the face under magnification before it goes to plating, push-test the center stone at 5 to 8 pounds, and don't box it until it passes. Same standard as every José Lux piece.

FAQ
What is a bust down ring?
A bust down ring is a ring where the face is fully covered in stones — little to no bare metal showing between them. On this ring, that covers the top face and both side walls of the head. The center is a 7.5mm Moissanite; everything around it is Swiss-certified CZ set in tight emerald-cut rows and round pavé borders.
Is every stone on this ring Moissanite?
No, and we want to be clear about that. The center stone is a 7.5mm Color D-FL Moissanite with its own GRA certificate. All the accent stones — the emerald-cut rows and the round pavé — are Swiss-certified CZ. It's called a Moissanite bust down ring because the center stone is Moissanite and the face is fully iced. We'd rather you know exactly what you're buying.
What size is the center stone?
7.5mm in diameter, round brilliant cut, 58 facets. That's approximately 1.5 carats diamond equivalent weight — the industry-standard way Moissanite is rated. It means the stone is the same visible size as a 1.5-carat round diamond. Moissanite is less dense than diamond, so the actual physical weight is a little lower.
What is Moissanite and how does it differ from diamond?
Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale. It is not a diamond and we won't describe it as one. It has a higher refractive index and more dispersion than diamond, which means more fire — more rainbow color in direct light. If you want diamond, buy diamond. If you want a colorless, flawless lab-created stone with strong fire and GRA documentation, this is a solid choice.
What does the honeycomb mesh underneath actually do?
It's a comfort feature. The underside of the head is cut into an open hexagonal mesh instead of a solid plate. That removes most of the flat metal pressing on top of your finger. You get less pressure, less of a red imprint line when you take the ring off, and less finger fatigue over a full day. On a bust down ring with this much stone on top, it's the detail that makes daily wear realistic.
How does the ring look on the hand?
Bold and square. The rectangular head covers the width of the finger, and the iced side walls mean it sparkles from the side too — not just from above. In direct light, the Moissanite center throws rainbow flashes while the emerald-cut CZ throws long white flashes and the pavé adds fine sparkle around the edges. This is not a subtle ring.
How do I keep a bust down ring clean?
Soap, lotion and dust collect under stones this tightly set, and that's what dulls sparkle — not the stones themselves. Soak the ring for a few minutes in warm water with a drop of mild dish soap, brush gently under the stones with a soft toothbrush, rinse, and dry with the polishing cloth included in the box. Take it off before the gym, the pool, or cleaning with chemicals.
How long does the rhodium plating last?
Conservative baseline: up to three years of daily wear before fading is noticeable. In practice, many of our customers re-plate around the five-year mark. Some have gone eight years. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chlorine and chemicals all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions.
What does the warranty cover?
This is a lifetime warranty. CZ stone resets are always free. If the Moissanite center stone is lost outright, replacement is charged at our Hong Kong supplier's import cost only, never at retail — resetting labor stays free either way. Rhodium re-plating and structural repairs from normal wear are free for life. What's not covered: impact damage — a bent band, crushed prong seat, or visible deformation from a drop or hard blow. We inspect every case individually and tell you honestly what we find.
How does sizing work?
This ring is made to order and sized to your measurement. Measure using the José Lux size chart provided at checkout, submit your size with your order, and we build the ring to that measurement at our Vietnam workshop. There are no off-the-shelf sizes.
How does shipping work?
Free USPS shipping to the United States and Europe. Tracking is emailed the day your order ships. Estimated delivery: 7–14 business days to the US, 10–18 business days to Europe. Every shipment is 100% insured at full order value. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, including an incorrect delivery address, you get a full refund.
Where is this ring made?
Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. The artisans who set your center stone, lay the emerald-cut rows, and plate the finish have been doing bench work for years — some for decades. The workshop is ours, not a third-party factory. That's how we control setting quality and finish on every piece that ships.

José Lux Buying Guide 5 FAQs
1. Is it safe to order online at José Lux?
Yes. Our store runs on Shopify, one of the world's most trusted ecommerce platforms. Shopify protects your personal information and your payment with SSL encryption and a secure checkout, so your details stay private and your payment is safe.
2. Do Moissanite and Cubic Zirconia Jewelry Come with GRA Certification?
The main Moissanite stone in each José Lux piece ships with its own GRA (Gemological Research Association) certificate. The report records the stone's color, clarity, cut, and size, and carries a unique report number traceable to that specific stone. Smaller Moissanite accent stones are the same material, hand-matched to the main stone, but they are not certified individually.
Swiss CZ pieces don't come with a GRA certificate. Instead, our CZ is imported with Swiss lot records, so every batch is documented.
3. Is José Lux Jewelry Quality and Accurately Described?
Every José Lux piece is handcrafted to order at our own workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, in 925 sterling silver or solid 10K and 14K gold. Before it ships, we check every prong and stone setting by hand, and each gold piece is tested for karat and stamped with its hallmark. Each listing states the metal, karat, and stones, and your piece is made to match. Colors may vary slightly depending on your screen. If what arrives isn't what you ordered, we'll give you a full refund.
4. Is José Lux Jewelry Shipping Safe?
Yes. Your piece is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer, set inside a jewelry box, and packed in an outer protective box, so it doesn't shift or get scratched in transit. Every shipment is covered by 100% USPS jewelry insurance. If your order is lost, delayed, or damaged in transit, we cover it. We email your tracking number the day your order ships, so you can follow it all the way to your door.
5. How long does it take to receive my order?
Every piece is made to order, so your total time is production plus shipping, counted in business days.
Silver jewelry: Production takes 3–4 business days. Shipping via USPS takes 7–14 business days to the US, 10–15 to Europe, 7–12 to Asia, and 10–20 to other countries. From order to your door, that's about 10–18 business days to the US, 13–19 to Europe, 10–16 to Asia, and 13–24 to other countries.
Gold jewelry (10K and 14K): Gold ships to the United States only. Production takes 6–8 business days and shipping takes 5–7, so about 11–15 business days from order to your door.
We email your tracking number the day your order ships. Customs processing can add time on international orders.
