We've been setting stones at our Vietnam workshop for over a decade. This is the widest, most stone-dense build in our men's range — and the one with the most moving parts. The center is a 6.5mm round brilliant GRA Moissanite at 1.5ct, four-prong set on a raised platform inside a square single-row halo. One row of round brilliant Swiss CZ running four straight sides around the center mount. Clean frame, no filler.

Directly in front of the center — running parallel to the band face — two rows of round brilliant Swiss CZ sit above and below the halo frame, extending across the full width of the mount. These two rows are what you see flanking the Moissanite when you look at the ring face-on. They connect the square halo to the five-row shoulder without a gap of blank silver anywhere on the face.

The shoulder runs five rows from the shank edge to the center on both sides. Two rows of round brilliant CZ in micro-pavé, one row of baguette-cut CZ in a flush channel, two more rows of round brilliant CZ in micro-pavé. The baguette row sits at the center of the stack. In any lit room, this ring does not sit quietly.  The shank itself — the band that wraps the finger front and back — is not left plain. Two rows of round brilliant CZ run horizontally across the full circumference of the shank on both the front-facing and back-facing surfaces. Two rows, parallel, consistent. The stone coverage does not stop at the shoulder. It continues around the band.

The Center Stone — GRA Moissanite

The center stone is a 6.5mm round brilliant Moissanite, 1.5ct, GRA certified. Color D. Colorless. Clarity FL. 58 facets. Four-prong set, each prong hand-tensioned at our Vietnam workshop before the ring ships.

Moissanite is not a diamond. We say that directly. It is lab-created silicon carbide with a higher refractive index than diamond — which means more fire, more color dispersion per facet in directional light. At 6.5mm and 1.5ct, raised inside a square halo on a fully-set five-row band, the Moissanite is the first thing you see on this ring. In sunlight or overhead light, it throws rainbow dispersion. If you want a ring that reads quietly, this is not it.

The ring ships with the physical GRA certificate for the Moissanite. Unique report ID. Traceable to your batch. Physical certificate — not a card, not a QR code. Same documentation format used in the professional gemological trade.

The Square Halo — Single Row, Four Straight Sides

The halo on this ring is not round. It is square — one row of round brilliant Swiss CZ running four straight sides around the perimeter of the center platform, corner to corner. One row. Not a double halo. Not a pavé surround. A single, clean row of CZ framing each side of the mount.

Setting a square halo correctly is harder than it reads. Each of the four sides has to be level — same stone depth, same prong height, all the way around. The corners have to meet cleanly. If any section sits proud or low, the frame reads uneven in direct light and you see it immediately. Our Vietnam workshop artisans set each side individually and verify all four before the ring moves to the front-row setting stage.

Visually, the square frame changes how the center stone reads. The round Moissanite sits inside four straight sides of light — the contrast between the curved stone and the angular frame is visible from every angle. It is a more structured look than a round halo. That is the intent.

The Shoulder — Five Rows, Two Stone Shapes

Each shoulder runs five rows of stones from the shank edge to the center mount. Reading from the outer edge inward: round brilliant Swiss CZ in micro-pavé, round brilliant Swiss CZ in micro-pavé, baguette-cut Swiss CZ in a flush channel, round brilliant Swiss CZ in micro-pavé, round brilliant Swiss CZ in micro-pavé. The baguette row sits at the center of the five-row stack. Four rows of round CZ flank it on both sides.  The shank — the band that wraps the finger front and back — continues the stone coverage. Two rows of round brilliant CZ run horizontally across both the front-facing and back-facing surfaces of the shank, the full width of the band. Two rows, parallel, consistent. The stone layout does not stop at the shoulder transition. It carries around the ring.

The baguette row is not decorative detail. Baguette cuts are step-cut — parallel rectangular facets that produce clean, broad light return rather than the point-source sparkle of a round brilliant. Between four pavé rows, the baguette channel reads as a structured horizontal band of reflected light running through the shoulder on both sides. From the side-view photos, the five-row layering is visible: pavé edge, pavé, baguette channel, pavé, pavé edge.

All shoulder stones — baguette and round — are premium-grade Swiss-certified CZ imported in documented lots from the Swiss source to our Vietnam bench. Not standard CZ. Tighter facets. Better light return per stone. Each baguette seat depth is verified before the channel rail closes. Each round brilliant is individually prong-set by hand and checked under direct light before the ring moves to finishing.

The Metal — 925 Sterling Silver

925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. The blank we use on this build is gauged heavier than what you find in catalog versions of this setting. A raised solitaire platform, a square halo frame, two front rows, five-row shoulders, and two rows of CZ running the shank all put significant load on the structure underneath. That load has to be carried without flex in the band or shift in the stone seats. The gauge does that. The inner band carries an arch cutout pattern — visible in the underside photos — which reduces weight while keeping wall strength consistent across the shank.

The Finish — Rhodium Plated White Gold

Every ring leaves our Vietnam workshop with a Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish applied by hand. Not machine-dipped. Hand-plated and checked by the same artisans who set the stones. Even coverage across the center prong tips, the four sides of the square halo frame, the front row prongs, the baguette channel rails, and all four pavé rows — the points where machine-dipping consistently leaves thin spots.

Rhodium is harder than the silver underneath. It sits as a barrier coat between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline: three years of daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, a number of our customers come back to replate after five years. Some have reported eight years of daily wear before the first replate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all factor in.

Rhodium replating at the José Lux workshop is always free. No time limit. No conditions. Send the ring in, we repolish and recoat, we return it at no charge.

Certification

The Moissanite center stone ships with the full GRA gemological certificate — Color D (Colorless), Clarity FL (Internally Flawless), Round Brilliant cut, 58 facets. Unique report number traceable to your specific batch. Physical certificate. Same documentation format used in the professional gemological trade.

The Swiss-certified CZ — square halo, front rows, baguette channel, and pavé rails — are sourced under a verified supplier contract with lot documentation from import to bench. That documentation stays at the José Lux workshop.

Warranty and Repairs

Every prong on a José Lux ring is tensioned by hand before it ships. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. If it happens — no evidence of impact — here is how it works:

Moissanite center stone re-setting or replacement: charged at our Hong Kong supplier's import cost only. Never at retail. Re-setting labor is always free.

Swiss CZ stone re-setting — square halo, front rows, baguette channel, pavé rail, or shank rows: always free at the José Lux workshop. No charge, no conditions. We import these in volume. Reset labor is free. Stone cost is free.

Rhodium re-plating: always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit, no conditions.

What is not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — a ring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible band deformation consistent with a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we fix it at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.

Shipping

Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux states that honestly rather than promise a window we cannot control.

Every shipment is 100% insured at full order value. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged, or an incorrect address at checkout — you are covered in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition or you get your money back.

Your ring ships in two layers: the inner ring box holds the ring securely with a shock-absorbing layer underneath. The outer box protects everything in transit. Nothing shifts. Nothing impacts.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who set your GRA Moissanite solitaire, build the square single-row halo around it corner to corner, set the two round CZ rows flanking the center face, press the baguette CZ into each shoulder channel, run all four pavé rows across each shoulder, and hand-plate the rhodium finish have been doing this work for years. Some have over 30 years of bench experience. Every prong is hand-tensioned. Every halo stone is individually verified. Every baguette seat depth is checked before the channel rail closes. Every pavé row passes visual check under direct light before the ring moves to finishing.

This is the most demanding build in the José Lux men's range. Four setting types on one piece: four-prong solitaire center, single-row square halo, baguette flush channel, and micro-pavé across six total rows including the two front rows. Each type has its own tolerance. The square halo has to read as a clean four-sided frame — one row, level on all sides, corners closed. The two front rows have to sit level with the halo and flush against the shoulder. The baguette channel has to be flush across its full length. The pavé rows have to align with the baguette edges on both sides. We have set enough of these to know exactly where each tolerance is. The rings that leave our workshop are within all of them.

Your Ring Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your ring ships in two layers of packaging. The inner ring box holds the ring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the ring itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.

Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.

FAQ

What is the center stone on this ring?

A single GRA-certified Moissanite — 6.5mm, round brilliant, 1.5ct. Color D, Clarity FL, 58 facets. Four-prong set on a raised platform inside the square halo frame, each prong hand-tensioned at our Vietnam workshop. The physical GRA certificate ships with your order. Unique report ID, traceable to your specific batch.

What does 'square halo' mean exactly?

The halo is one row of round brilliant Swiss CZ running four straight sides around the perimeter of the center mount — corner to corner, forming a square frame around the Moissanite. One row. Not a double row, not a pavé surround. The four sides meet cleanly at each corner. The round Moissanite sits inside a square frame of light. That contrast — round stone, square frame — is visible from the front and from both side angles.

What are the two rows of stones on the front of the ring?

Directly above and below the square halo frame — running horizontally across the face of the ring — two rows of round brilliant Swiss CZ sit in micro-pavé. One row above the halo. One row below. These rows span the full width of the center mount and connect the halo frame to the five-row shoulder without any gap of blank silver between them. From the front, they are the stone rows you see flanking the Moissanite on the top and bottom of the center block.

How many rows are on the shoulder and what are they?

Five rows per shoulder, running the full length from the shank edge to the center mount. From the outer edge inward: round brilliant CZ in micro-pavé, round brilliant CZ in micro-pavé, baguette-cut CZ in a flush channel, round brilliant CZ in micro-pavé, round brilliant CZ in micro-pavé. The baguette channel sits at the center of the five-row stack. The stone coverage does not stop at the shoulder — the shank itself carries two rows of round brilliant CZ running horizontally across the front and back surfaces of the band, the full width around.

What is the baguette row and why is it there?

Baguette-cut Swiss CZ in a flush channel — rectangular step-cut stones seated between two metal rails, table-face flush, no visible prongs. Baguette cuts produce broad, clean light reflections rather than the sparkle of a round brilliant. Between four rows of round pavé, the baguette channel reads as a structured horizontal band of reflected light cutting through the shoulder on both sides. Two types of light return — pavé sparkle and baguette flash — layered across five rows. That is what gives this shoulder its depth.

What does the ring look like in person?

Wide, raised, and completely covered in stone. From the front: the Moissanite sits elevated inside the square CZ frame, two rows of round CZ above and below it, shoulders running five rows out to both sides. No blank silver anywhere on the face. From the side: the raised center platform is visible above the five-row shoulder, and the baguette row cuts through the middle of the shoulder as a clean horizontal band. In any directional light, the full face of this ring is active. On the finger, it occupies space. It reads from across a room.

What is the difference between Moissanite and the CZ stones on this ring?

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide — Color D, Clarity FL, GRA certified. It is the center stone. Swiss CZ is cubic zirconia — premium-grade, precision-cut, sourced in documented lots from Switzerland. It is used in the square halo, front rows, baguette channel, and pavé rail. Both are not diamond. The Moissanite carries the build and comes with GRA documentation. The Swiss CZ provides the structural stone coverage across the halo, front rows, and shoulder. Different materials, different roles, clearly stated.

How long does the rhodium plating last?

Conservative baseline: three years of daily wear before any change is noticeable. In practice, a number of our customers come back to replate after five years. Some have reported eight years before the first replate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect the timeline. Replating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions.

What does the warranty cover?

If the Moissanite center stone comes loose under normal daily wear — no impact — replacement is charged at our Hong Kong supplier’s import cost only, never retail, and re-setting labor is free. If any Swiss CZ stone comes loose — square halo, front rows, baguette channel, pavé rail, or shank rows — the reset is completely free. No charge, no conditions. Rhodium replating is free for life. What is not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact, visible band deformation from a drop or hard blow. We inspect every case and communicate clearly. If a repair falls outside warranty, we still fix it at cost with a clear quote first.

How does sizing work?

This ring is made to order, sized to your exact measurement. We use our own José Lux size chart, provided at checkout. No off-the-shelf standard sizes. You measure using our chart, submit your size when ordering, and we build the ring to that measurement at our Vietnam workshop.

How does shipping work?

Free USPS shipping to the United States and Europe. Tracking is sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery: 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — we state that honestly rather than promising a window we cannot control. Every shipment is 100% insured at full order value. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, a full refund is issued. You either receive your ring in perfect condition or you get your money back.

Where is this ring made?

Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. The artisans setting your Moissanite solitaire, building all four sides of the square halo, setting the two front rows, pressing the baguette channel, running the four pavé rows, setting the two shank rows, and hand-plating the finish have been on the bench for years. Some have over 30 years of experience. The workshop is ours — not a third-party factory. That is how we control the halo geometry, channel flush, stone alignment, and finish quality on every piece that ships.
