The Princess Cut Moissanite Square

A princess cut is a square stone with four sharp corners. This stud sets four of them in a 2×2 grid, so the head reads as one square instead of four separate stones.

Nine small ball prongs sit at the grid intersections: four at the corners, four along the edges and one in the middle. Neighboring stones share prongs, and a thin gold bar runs between each pair of stones.

A stud sits flat against the lobe, with nothing hanging below it. At work, at the gym, on a night out, the earring stays where you put it, because the post runs straight through to the screw back.

The Post and Screw Back

The post and the screw back are solid gold, in the same karat as the head. The screw back threads on and comes off completely, so you can take the stud apart and clean it whenever you need to.

Here’s the trade-off. A screw back takes a few more seconds to fit than a push-on back, and that extra turn is what holds the earring in place.

The Gold and Karat Options

The head, the post and the screw back are all solid gold — never gold-filled, never gold-plated. José Lux offers them in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold).

10K carries less pure gold and more of the harder alloy metals, so it resists everyday scratching a little better. That matters on an earring you wear at work and at the gym. 14K carries more pure gold, which gives Yellow Gold a deeper, warmer tone, with slightly softer metal.

Neither is the “better” metal. They’re two different trade-offs, and José Lux sells both.

Metal weight is 1.37 g [per earring] in 10K gold and 1.54 g [per earring] in 14K gold. The 14K version weighs more because 14K gold is denser.

Every karat comes in Yellow Gold, White Gold or Rose Gold. The color isn’t a coating. It comes from the alloy formula — the ratio of copper, silver, zinc or palladium mixed into the gold during alloying.

José Lux’s White Gold alloy uses copper, silver, zinc or palladium — not nickel. Rose Gold gets its warmer tone from copper in the mix.

Pick Yellow Gold to match the chain you already wear. Pick White Gold to match a steel or silver ring. Pick Rose Gold to match a watch or ring with the same warm tone.

How We Make Them

Every José Lux gold earring goes through four stages before it ships: alloying, casting, hand finishing and quality control. We alloy 24K gold down to 10K or 14K by hand, in the exact ratio for the karat and color ordered. The stud is cast from a 3D CAD design using lost-wax casting.

Then the stone-setting starts, and princess cuts leave no room for error. Their corners are sharp, so every seat has to be cut square and every corner prong has to sit right. We set all four Moissanite stones by hand, then polish the earring to a mirror finish.

Before it leaves Hồ Chí Minh City, we test the karat with an XRF machine, check the nickel content and stamp the legal karat hallmark. The same workshop team packs your order.

Certification

All four stones are Moissanite — GRA Certified, Color D-FL (colorless, internally flawless), Mohs 9.25.

Moissanite isn’t a diamond, and José Lux won’t tell you it is. It’s lab-created silicon carbide with its own optical signature. The GRA report is a Moissanite report, not a diamond-grading report.

No stone plays the accent role here, and there’s no CZ. The four stones are hand-selected at the bench so the square reads consistent, not patchy.

Care

The screw back comes off completely, so you can take the earring apart and clean it whenever you need to. Wipe the stones, the gold bars between them and the post with the jewelry cleaning cloth that ships with every order.

Skin oils and lotion collect between the stones, so clean along the gold bars now and then.

Warranty and Repairs

Every José Lux gold earring carries a lifetime warranty. Repairs are free — for life, no expiration date. Each prong is checked and adjusted by hand before an earring ships, which is why a stone coming loose under normal daily wear is rare.

If a Moissanite stone does come loose under everyday use, José Lux resets it for free. That covers all four stones in the square.

Are the stones Moissanite or CZ?

All four stones are Moissanite, GRA Certified. That’s different from José Lux earrings that pair a Moissanite center with Swiss CZ accents. Here, there’s no CZ anywhere.
