We've been setting stones at our Vietnam workshop for over a decade, and this Square Halo Ring is built around a 10mm round brilliant Moissanite — a genuine centerpiece stone, not an accent. It sits on four prongs inside a square pavé halo. Flanking that halo on each shoulder is a channel of baguette CZ, bordered on both sides by rows of pavé running down to the shank.

This is a mixed-stone build, and we say that plainly. The center stone is Moissanite, graded and GRA-documented in its own right. The halo, the baguette channel, and every pavé row bordering it are Swiss-certified CZ. We don't blend two stone types to cut cost — a baguette channel needs stones cut to an exact, consistent size to sit flush against the pavé beside it, and Swiss CZ gives us that. The center is where we put the size and the GRA documentation.

Turn the ring over and the gallery underneath is cut open in an ornamental lattice, not left as a solid plate. On a ring built around a stone this large, that open structure does real work: it pulls metal mass out from directly under your finger, which means less flat surface pressing into the skin and less of the pinching, fatigued feeling a solid-backed wide ring can cause over a long day of wear. It's what makes a centerpiece like this one comfortable enough to wear daily, not just for photos.

The Center Stone — 10mm Moissanite, Color D

The center stone is a 10mm round brilliant Moissanite. Color D, Colorless. Internally Flawless. 58 facets. This is the same colorless D-FL grade we use across our all-Moissanite pieces. Set inside its own square pavé halo, the center stone is doing almost all of the visual work; there's no grade to hide behind at this size.

Moissanite is not a diamond. We say that plainly: it's its own material, lab-created silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with a higher refractive index and more fire — more rainbow dispersion in directional light — than diamond has. At 10mm, that fire is substantial. In direct sun or under any overhead source, the center stone is the first thing anyone notices.

Every center stone ships with its own GRA certificate: physical document, unique report ID, traceable to your batch at our Hong Kong supplier. Not a card. Not a QR code.

The Halo & Baguette Channel — Swiss CZ

The pavé halo framing the center stone, the baguette channel running down both shoulders, and the pavé rows bordering it on both sides are all Swiss-certified CZ — premium grade, imported in certified batches from Switzerland, not standard commodity CZ. A baguette channel is unforgiving in its own way: every stone has to sit at the same height and depth inside the channel wall, right up against the pavé beside it, or the line reads uneven. Swiss CZ's tighter cut tolerances are what keep that line looking level from the halo out to the shank.

We use CZ for the halo, channel, and pavé for a practical reason, not a cost one: a clean channel run needs a batch of identically cut stones, and Swiss CZ gives us that consistency at the volume this build requires. The center stone is where the size and the GRA documentation go. The halo, channel, and pavé are there to frame it.

The Metal — 925 Sterling Silver

The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. A 10mm center stone is real weight to carry on four prongs, and the channel walls holding the baguettes have to stay level with the pavé rows running beside them on both shoulders. We use a heavier blank on this build for exactly that reason — the geometry only holds if the metal underneath it does.

The Finish — Rhodium Plated White Gold

Every ring comes out of our Vietnam workshop with a Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish applied by hand. Not machine-dipped. Hand-plated, controlled at the workshop level, checked by the same artisans who set the stones. On this build, that means even coverage across the halo, the channel walls, and the pavé rows — all surfaces a machine dip tends to skip or pool on.

Rhodium is harder than the silver underneath. It sits as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, a number of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. Some have gone eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect how long it holds.

Physical certificate — the same documentation format used in the professional gemological trade. The Swiss CZ halo, channel, and pavé ship with a material authenticity card confirming Swiss origin and lab-created status.

Warranty and Repairs

Every prong on this ring — the four holding the center stone and every stone across the halo, baguette channel, and pavé — is hand-set at our Vietnam workshop and push-tested at 5 to 8 pounds before it ships. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare — that's a result of how the stones are set, not luck.

This is a lifetime warranty. Not a one-year policy. Not two years. For as long as you own the ring.

If a stone comes loose or falls out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — a ring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible deformation consistent with a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we fix it at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who set your center stone, build the halo, channel-set the baguettes, and hand-plate the finish have been doing this work for years. Some have over 30 years of bench experience. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every channel wall is checked level against its pavé border before plating. Every band is plated by hand, checked by the person who plated it.

A halo build with a baguette channel changes what the setting has to do — the halo has to frame the center stone cleanly, and the channel running down each shoulder has to stay level against the pavé beside it the entire way down. We push-test every center stone at 5 to 8 pounds before it leaves the bench, the same standard we hold for every José Lux piece, large stone or small.
