Handmade Men’s Sun Stud Earrings – 10K & 14K Gold Moissanite (Single or Pair)

These men’s sun stud earrings are solid gold in two karats: 10K gold — 41.7% pure gold — and 14K gold — 58.3% pure gold. One round Moissanite stone sits at the center of the sun, with no Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia) anywhere on the earring. Pick Yellow Gold, White Gold or Rose Gold.

Wavy gold rays spread out from the stone across a round, flat head. A solid gold post and screw back hold the stud in place, and the back unscrews when you want to clean it.

The Sun Design and Bezel Setting

The head is a thin, round disc. Wavy rays curve out from the middle in raised double lines, the way a sun is drawn, and each ray ends at the edge of the disc.

The Moissanite sits at the center in a bezel — a thin gold wall that wraps the stone’s edge. Here’s the trade-off. A bezel shows less of the stone from the side than prongs would, and in return the gold sits low around it.

The head is flat, so the stud sits flat against the lobe with nothing hanging below it. At work, at the gym, on a night out, the earring stays where you put it, because the post runs straight through to the screw back.

The Post and Screw Back

The post and the screw back are solid gold, in the same karat as the head. The screw back threads on and comes off completely, so you can take the stud apart and clean it whenever you need to.

A screw back takes a few more seconds to fit than a push-on back, and that extra turn is what holds the earring in place.

The Gold and Karat Options

The head, the post and the screw back are all solid gold — never gold-filled, never gold-plated. José Lux offers them in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold).

10K carries less pure gold and more of the harder alloy metals, so it resists everyday scratching a little better. That matters on a flat polished earring you wear at work and at the gym. 14K carries more pure gold, which gives Yellow Gold a deeper, warmer tone, with slightly softer metal.

Neither is the “better” metal. They’re two different trade-offs, and José Lux sells both.

Metal weight is 1.39 g [per earring] in 10K gold and 1.57 g [per earring] in 14K gold. The 14K version weighs more because 14K gold is denser.

Every karat comes in Yellow Gold, White Gold or Rose Gold. The color isn’t a coating. It comes from the alloy formula — the ratio of copper, silver, zinc or palladium mixed into the gold during alloying.

José Lux’s White Gold alloy uses copper, silver, zinc or palladium — not nickel. Rose Gold gets its warmer tone from copper in the mix.

Pick Yellow Gold to match the chain you already wear. Pick White Gold to match a steel or silver ring. Pick Rose Gold to match a watch or ring with the same warm tone.

How We Make Them

Every José Lux gold earring goes through four stages before it ships: alloying, casting, hand finishing and quality control. We alloy 24K gold down to 10K or 14K by hand, in the exact ratio for the karat and color ordered. The stud is cast from a 3D CAD design using lost-wax casting.

Then the finishing starts, and a flat disc with raised rays leaves nowhere to hide. Every ray has to curve the same way, and the bezel wall has to close evenly around the stone. We set the Moissanite by hand, then polish the earring to a mirror finish.

Before it leaves Hồ Chí Minh City, we test the karat with an XRF machine, check the nickel content and stamp the legal karat hallmark. The same workshop team packs your order.

Certification

The stone is Moissanite — GRA Certified, Color D-FL (colorless, internally flawless), Mohs 9.25.

Moissanite isn’t a diamond, and José Lux won’t tell you it is. It’s lab-created silicon carbide with its own optical signature. The GRA report is a Moissanite report, not a diamond-grading report.

Care

The screw back comes off completely, so you can take the earring apart and clean it whenever you need to. Wipe the stone, the rays and the post with the jewelry cleaning cloth that ships with every order.

Skin oils and lotion collect around the bezel and between the raised lines, so wipe there now and then.

Warranty and Repairs

Every José Lux gold earring carries a lifetime warranty. Repairs are free — for life, no expiration date.

If the Moissanite stone does come loose under everyday use, José Lux resets it for free.

Is the stone Moissanite or CZ?

The stone is Moissanite, GRA Certified. That’s different from José Lux earrings that pair a Moissanite center with Swiss CZ accents. Here, there’s no CZ anywhere.

How many stones does it have?

One round Moissanite stone per earring. It sits at the center of the sun, and the rays around it are gold.

Is this one earring or a pair?
