We've been setting stones at our Vietnam workshop for over a decade, and this Tension Setting Ring is built around a 10mm round brilliant Moissanite in green — a genuine centerpiece stone, gripped between two arms of the band rather than held under a basket of prongs. From the front, the stone appears to float, with no metal crossing over its crown. Flanking the setting on each shoulder is a channel of baguette CZ, bordered by rows of pavé running down to the shank.

This is a mixed-stone build, and we say that plainly. The center stone is Moissanite — a fancy-color stone, not our standard colorless D-FL grade, and we grade and describe it as what it is. The baguette channel and the pavé bordering it on both shoulders are Swiss-certified CZ. We don't blend two stone types to cut cost — a channel run needs stones cut to a consistent, exact size, and Swiss CZ gives us that. The center is where we put the color and the GRA documentation.

Turn the ring over and the gallery underneath is cut open in an ornamental lattice, not left as a solid plate. On a band this substantial, that open structure does real work: it pulls metal mass out from directly under your finger, which means less flat surface pressing into the skin and less of the pinching, fatigued feeling a solid-backed wide ring can cause over a long day of wear. It's what makes a build like this one comfortable enough to wear daily, not just for photos.

The Tension Setting — 10mm Green Moissanite

The center stone is a 10mm round brilliant Moissanite in green — a fancy-color stone, not our standard colorless grade. Internally Flawless. 58 facets. It sits captured between two arms of the band rather than under a basket of prongs, so from the front there's no metal crossing the crown — just the stone, held by pressure from the sides.

A true tension setting relies entirely on the spring memory of the metal to grip the stone — no prongs, just compression. That works well in platinum, which holds its shape under that kind of stress for decades. 925 silver is softer and doesn't hold spring tension the same way over the long term, so we build this setting with a reinforced structure underneath the visible arms. You get the floating look of a tension setting, but the stone's security doesn't depend on silver alone to hold it for life. We'd rather build it this way and tell you why than sell you a setting that loosens down the road.

Moissanite is not a diamond. We say that plainly: it's its own material, lab-created silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with a higher refractive index and more fire — more rainbow dispersion in directional light — than diamond has. In a fancy color like this green, that fire shows as shifting color and light within the stone itself. With no prongs crossing the crown, more of that light reaches your eye directly — the open setting is part of what makes the color read as strongly as it does.

Every center stone ships with its own GRA certificate: physical document, unique report ID, traceable to your batch at our Hong Kong supplier. Not a card. Not a QR code.

The Baguette & Pavé — Swiss CZ

The baguette channel flanking the setting and the pavé bordering it on both shoulders are Swiss-certified CZ — premium grade, imported in certified batches from Switzerland, not standard commodity CZ. A channel run is unforgiving in its own way: every baguette has to sit at the same height and depth inside the channel wall, right up against the pavé beside it, or the line reads uneven. Swiss CZ's tighter cut tolerances are what keep that line looking level from the setting out to the shank.

We use CZ for the channel and pavé for a practical reason, not a cost one: a clean channel run needs a batch of identically cut stones, and Swiss CZ gives us that consistency at the volume this build requires. The center stone is where the color and the GRA documentation go. The channel and pavé are there to frame it.

The Metal — 925 Sterling Silver

The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. Because this build asks more of the metal than a standard prong setting does, we use a heavier blank and reinforce the arms holding the center stone from underneath — the visible tension look stays, but the actual grip on the stone doesn't rely on silver's spring memory alone.

The Finish — Rhodium Plated White Gold

Every ring comes out of our Vietnam workshop with a Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish applied by hand. Not machine-dipped. Hand-plated, controlled at the workshop level, checked by the same artisans who set the stones. On this build, that means even coverage across the tension arms, the channel walls, and the pavé — all surfaces a machine dip tends to skip or pool on.

Rhodium is harder than the silver underneath. It sits as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, a number of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. Some have gone eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect how long it holds.

Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions. Send the ring in, we repolish and recoat, we return it at no charge.

Certification

The center stone ships with its own GRA gemological certificate: Green (fancy color), Clarity — Internally Flawless, Round Brilliant cut, 58 facets, with a unique report number traceable to your specific batch. Physical certificate — the same documentation format used in the professional gemological trade. The Swiss CZ baguettes and pavé ship with a material authenticity card confirming Swiss origin and lab-created status.

Warranty and Repairs

Every setting on this ring — the reinforced tension arms holding the center stone and every stone across the baguette channel and pavé — is hand-set at our Vietnam workshop and push-tested at 5 to 8 pounds before it ships. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare — that's a result of how the setting is built, not luck.

This is a lifetime warranty. Not a one-year policy. Not two years. For as long as you own the ring.

If a stone comes loose or falls out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

CZ baguette or pavé stone reset: Always free. No charge, no conditions — we import these stones in volume.

Moissanite center stone re-setting or replacement: Resetting labor is always free. If the stone is physically lost, replacement is charged at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier only — never at retail.

Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit, no conditions.

What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — a ring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible deformation consistent with a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we fix it at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.

Shipping

Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery: 7–14 business days to the US, 10–18 business days to Europe — customs adds time on that side, and we say so rather than promise a window we can't control.

Every shipment is 100% insured at full order value. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged, or an incorrect address at checkout — you're covered in full. You either receive your ring in perfect condition or you get your money back.

Your ring ships in two layers: the inner ring box holds the ring securely with a shock-absorbing layer underneath. The outer box protects everything in transit. Nothing shifts. Nothing impacts.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who set your center stone, build the tension arms, channel-set the baguettes, and hand-plate the finish have been doing this work for years. Some have over 30 years of bench experience. Every setting is adjusted and reinforced by hand. Every channel wall is checked level against its pavé border before plating. Every band is plated by hand, checked by the person who plated it.

A tension-style setting asks more of the bench than a standard prong build — the stone has to sit centered and secure with no basket to hide behind, and the reinforcement underneath has to be invisible from the front. We push-test every center stone at 5 to 8 pounds before it leaves the bench, the same standard we hold for every José Lux piece, tension-set or traditional.

FAQ

What stone is the center stone?

A 10mm round brilliant Moissanite in green, Internally Flawless, 58 facets. It's lab-created silicon carbide, GRA certified, 9.25 on the Mohs scale. This is a fancy-color stone — different from our standard colorless D-FL Moissanite — and we grade and describe it as what it is.

How does the tension setting work, and is it actually secure?

The stone sits gripped between two arms of the band with no prongs crossing the crown, which is what gives it the floating look. A true tension setting relies purely on the metal's spring memory to hold the stone — that works in platinum, but 925 silver doesn't hold that kind of pressure the same way over decades. So we reinforce the arms underneath with additional structure you can't see from the front. You get the look of a floating stone with security that doesn't depend on silver alone.

What stones are in the baguette channel?

Swiss-certified CZ, channel-set down both shoulders and bordered by rows of pavé. This is a mixed-stone ring: Moissanite center, CZ everywhere else. We're upfront about that split — a clean channel run needs a batch of identically cut stones, and Swiss CZ's tight cut tolerances are what keep that line reading level.

What is Moissanite and how does it differ from diamond?

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale. It is not a diamond and we won't describe it as one. It has a higher refractive index than diamond, which means more fire — more rainbow dispersion in directional light. In a fancy color like this green center, that fire reads as shifting color and light within the stone, and with no prongs crossing the crown, more of that light reaches your eye directly. If you want diamond, buy diamond. If you want a lab-created colored stone with strong fire and GRA documentation, this is a solid choice.

What's the open gallery underneath, and does it actually help with comfort?

Yes. The gallery under the setting is cut open rather than left as a solid plate. On a band this substantial, that open structure pulls metal mass out from directly under your finger — less flat surface in constant contact with the skin, which means less of the pinching or fatigued feeling a solid-backed wide ring can cause over a full day of wear. It's a functional detail as much as a decorative one.

How does the ring look in person and on the hand?

Bold and modern. The green center stone appears to float between the two arms of the setting, with no prongs breaking up the crown, while the baguette channel and pavé border give the shoulders a clean, structured line. In direct light, the Moissanite throws deep, shifting color at the center while the CZ throws a flatter, brighter white sparkle around it.

How long does the rhodium plating last?

Conservative baseline: three years of daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, a number of our customers come back to re-plate after five years. Some have reported eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions.

What does the warranty cover?

This is a lifetime warranty, not a one- or two-year policy. Settings are built to hold, and stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. CZ baguette and pavé stone resets are always free. If the Moissanite center stone is lost outright, replacement is charged at our Hong Kong supplier's import cost only, never at retail — resetting labor stays free either way. Rhodium re-plating is always free. What's not covered: impact damage — visible deformation of the band or the setting from a drop or hard blow. José Lux inspects every case individually and communicates honestly.

How does sizing work?

This ring is made to order and sized specifically to your measurement. We use our own José Lux size chart, provided at checkout. There are no standard off-the-shelf sizes. You measure using our chart, submit your size when ordering, and we build the ring to that measurement at our Vietnam workshop.

How does shipping work?

Free USPS shipping to the United States and Europe. Tracking is sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery: 7–14 business days to the US, 10–18 business days to Europe — customs adds time on that side, and we're upfront about that rather than promise a window we can't control. Every shipment is 100% insured at full order value. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, including an incorrect delivery address, a full refund is issued.

Where is this ring made?

Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. The artisans setting your center stone, building the reinforced tension arms, and channel-setting the baguettes have been doing bench work for years — some for decades. The workshop is ours, not a third-party factory. That's how we control the setting quality and the finish on every piece that ships.

José Lux Buying Guide 5 FAQs

1. Is it safe to order online at José Lux?

Yes. Our store runs on Shopify, one of the world's most trusted ecommerce platforms. Shopify protects your personal information and your payment with SSL encryption and a secure checkout, so your details stay private and your payment is safe.

2. Do Moissanite and Cubic Zirconia Jewelry Come with GRA Certification?

The main Moissanite stone in each José Lux piece ships with its own GRA (Gemological Research Association) certificate. The report records the stone's color, clarity, cut, and size, and carries a unique report number traceable to that specific stone. Smaller Moissanite accent stones are the same material, hand-matched to the main stone, but they are not certified individually.

Swiss CZ pieces don't come with a GRA certificate. Instead, our CZ is imported with Swiss lot records, so every batch is documented.

3. Is José Lux Jewelry Quality and Accurately Described?

Every José Lux piece is handcrafted to order at our own workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, in 925 sterling silver or solid 10K and 14K gold. Before it ships, we check every prong and stone setting by hand, and each gold piece is tested for karat and stamped with its hallmark. Each listing states the metal, karat, and stones, and your piece is made to match. Colors may vary slightly depending on your screen. If what arrives isn't what you ordered, we'll give you a full refund.

4. Is José Lux Jewelry Shipping Safe?

Yes. Your piece is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer, set inside a jewelry box, and packed in an outer protective box, so it doesn't shift or get scratched in transit. Every shipment is covered by 100% USPS jewelry insurance. If your order is lost, delayed, or damaged in transit, we cover it. We email your tracking number the day your order ships, so you can follow it all the way to your door.

5. How long does it take to receive my order?

Every piece is made to order, so your total time is production plus shipping, counted in business days.

Silver jewelry: Production takes 3–4 business days. Shipping via USPS takes 7–14 business days to the US, 10–15 to Europe, 7–12 to Asia, and 10–20 to other countries. From order to your door, that's about 10–18 business days to the US, 13–19 to Europe, 10–16 to Asia, and 13–24 to other countries.

Gold jewelry (10K and 14K): Gold ships to the United States only. Production takes 6–8 business days and shipping takes 5–7, so about 11–15 business days from order to your door.

We email your tracking number the day your order ships. Customs processing can add time on international orders.
