We've been setting stones at our Vietnam workshop for over a decade, and this Vertical Baguette Channel Set Ring is one of the boldest builds we run. A 12.0mm round Moissanite — a genuinely large center stone — sits on four prongs at the top of the face, framed by a short row of pavé and flanked on both sides by parallel channels of vertical baguette-cut CZ that run the full width of the face and continue straight down both shoulders. It reads architectural, almost skyscraper-like, from every angle.

This piece is finished in rose gold rather than our standard white rhodium — a distinct plated finish applied by hand at the same Vietnam workshop, giving the silver a warm rose-gold color instead of the bright white finish most of our pieces carry. We flag that distinction clearly below, because it's a different process from our usual Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish and it's worth understanding before you buy.

Turn the ring over and you'll see the part most rings hide. We cut the gallery underneath open as a lattice dome instead of leaving a solid plate. On a wide, heavy build like this one, that open structure does real work: it pulls metal mass out from directly under your finger, so less flat surface presses into the skin. That means fewer indent marks on your finger, and less of the pinched, tired feeling a solid-backed wide ring causes by the end of a long day. It's what makes a 12mm center stone comfortable enough to wear every day, not just for photos.

The Center Stone — 12.0mm Moissanite, Color D

The center stone is a 12.0mm round brilliant Moissanite. Color D, Colorless. Internally Flawless. 58 facets. This is a large stone — the biggest center stone in our range — and it carries the same colorless D-FL grade we use across our all-Moissanite pieces. At this size, the stone is the first thing anyone sees; there's no grade to hide behind.

Moissanite is not a diamond. We say that plainly: it's its own material, lab-created silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale, with a higher refractive index and more fire — more rainbow dispersion in directional light — than diamond has. At 12mm, that fire is substantial. In direct sun or under any overhead source, the center stone is doing most of the visual work on this ring.

Every center stone ships with its own GRA certificate: physical document, unique report ID laser-inscribed on the stone, carat weight equivalent and dimensions to 0.01mm, traceable to your batch at our Hong Kong supplier. Not a card. Not a QR code.

The Baguette Channels & Pavé — Swiss CZ

The short pavé row framing the center stone and the vertical baguette-cut channels flanking it and running down both shoulders are Swiss-certified CZ — premium grade, imported in certified batches from Switzerland, not standard commodity CZ. Baguette-cut stones are less forgiving than round ones in a channel: each rectangular stone has to sit flush against its neighbor with no visible gap and no tilt, or the whole channel reads uneven. Swiss CZ's tighter cut tolerances are what make that consistency possible across this many stones.

We use CZ for the channels for a practical reason, not a cost one: a build like this needs a large number of identically cut baguettes running in parallel, and Swiss CZ gives us that consistency at scale. The center stone is where the size and the GRA documentation go. The channels are there to frame it and carry the architectural line down the shoulders.

The Metal — 925 Sterling Silver

The band is 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. A 12mm center stone is real weight to carry on four prongs, and the parallel baguette channels need precisely cut seats so every rectangular stone sits flush and level down the full length of the shoulder. We use a heavier blank on this build for exactly that reason — the channel geometry only holds if the metal underneath it does.

The Finish — Rose Gold Plated Finish

This ring is finished in rose gold rather than the Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish that covers most of our range. It's a separate plated finish, hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop over the 925 silver — not solid gold, and not a rhodium process, since rhodium itself only plates bright white and can't produce a rose or pink tone. We say that plainly: this is a plated color finish over sterling silver, the same honest framing we apply to every finish we offer.

Gold-tone plating is a softer metal than rhodium — rhodium sits at 6 on the Mohs scale, while a gold-alloy plating layer sits much closer to silver's own 2.5–3. In practice, that means a rose gold finish is more likely to show wear at high-contact points — the underside of the band, the tips of prongs — sooner than our standard white rhodium finish typically does. We'd rather tell you that upfront than let you find out from wear. If the color fades or thins with wear, re-plating is free for life at the José Lux workshop, the same as it is on every finish we offer — send the ring back, we recoat it, we return it at no charge.

The center stone ships with its own GRA gemological certificate: Color D (Colorless), Clarity FL (Internally Flawless), Round Brilliant cut, 58 facets, with a unique report number laser-inscribed on the stone and traceable to your specific batch. Physical certificate — the same documentation format used in the professional gemological trade. The Swiss CZ channels and pavé ship with a material authenticity card confirming Swiss origin and lab-created status.

Warranty and Repairs

Every prong and every channel seat on this ring — the four holding the center stone, the baguette channels, and the pavé — is hand-set at our Vietnam workshop and checked before it ships. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare — that's a result of how the stones are set, not luck.

This is a lifetime warranty. Not a one-year policy. Not two years. For as long as you own the ring.

If a stone comes loose or falls out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

CZ channel or pavé stone reset: Always free. No charge, no conditions — we import these stones in volume.

Moissanite center stone re-setting or replacement: Resetting labor is always free. If the stone is physically lost, replacement is charged at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier only — never at retail.

Re-plating: Free for life at the José Lux workshop, on this finish the same as any other. No time limit, no conditions.

What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — a ring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible deformation consistent with a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we fix it at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who set your 12mm center stone, channel-set the vertical baguette rows, and hand-apply the finish have been doing this work for years. Some have over 30 years of bench experience. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every baguette is checked flush against its neighbor before plating. Every band is finished by hand, checked by the person who finished it.

Parallel baguette channels are unforgiving. A round pavé field hides small variances between stones; a straight channel of rectangular stones doesn't — any stone sitting a fraction high, low, or tilted breaks the line and it shows immediately. We check every channel by eye before it goes to finishing, the same standard we hold on every José Lux piece.

Is the finish rhodium, like your other rings?

No — this ring is finished in rose gold rather than our standard Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish. Rhodium only plates bright white, so a rose or pink tone requires a different plated finish over the 925 silver. It's not solid gold, and we want to be clear that a gold-tone plating layer is generally softer than rhodium and may show wear sooner at high-contact points. Re-plating is still free for life at our workshop, same as every finish we offer.

What is Moissanite and how does it differ from diamond?

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide, 9.25 on the Mohs scale. It is not a diamond and we won't describe it as one. It has a higher refractive index than diamond, which means more fire — more rainbow dispersion in directional light. At 12mm, that fire is substantial in any direct light source. If you want diamond, buy diamond. If you want a lab-created stone with strong fire and GRA documentation, this is a solid choice.

What's the open lattice underneath, and does it help with finger marks and fatigue?

Yes. We cut the gallery under the center stone open as a lattice dome instead of leaving a solid metal plate. It's cut, not stamped. On a wide, heavy build like this one, that open structure pulls metal mass out from directly under your finger, so less flat surface stays in constant contact with the skin. The result is fewer indent marks on the finger after a few hours of wear, and less of the pinched, tired feeling a solid-backed wide ring causes over a full day. It's a functional detail as much as a decorative one, and you can see it clearly in the underside photo.

How does the ring look in person and on the hand?

We don't have the multi-year field data on this finish that we do on our standard white rhodium, because it's a different plating metal with different wear characteristics.
