José Lux has been setting Moissanite earrings for over a decade. The Flower Lever Back is one of the more architecturally specific designs we make — a round brilliant Moissanite center stone elevated in a multi-prong flower mount, ringed by a full halo of Swiss CZ petals, and seated above a three-stone pavé band that runs down the base of each earring. That combination is what you see in the images: a bold flower face on top, a stone-set band beneath it, the whole structure sitting against the ear on a sterling silver lever back.

The lever back closure is built entirely from 925 sterling silver at our Vietnam workshop. It's a hinged omega-style lever — the kind that opens by pressing the tab, sits flush against the ear when closed, and locks with a firm click. It can be fully detached from the earring body for cleaning. On a design this stone-dense, that matters. You need to be able to get into the settings. The lever back makes that straightforward.

What you're looking at in the images: the full front face of the flower cluster on both earrings held together, and a side-profile view of one earring open showing the lever back mechanism extended, the post, and the stone coverage on the band from the back angle. The scale in hand tells you the actual size. This earring occupies real estate on the ear. That's intentional.

The Center Stone — GRA Moissanite, Round Brilliant

The center stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — Color D, Clarity FL. Colorless and internally flawless. Round brilliant cut, 58 facets. Each stone ships with its own GRA certificate carrying a unique report ID traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate. Not a card.

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and we won't tell you it is. What it has — and what makes it work on a flower halo design like this one — is more fire than diamond. Fire means dispersion: rainbow color thrown outward in directional light. In a halo setting where the center stone is elevated above a ring of surrounding CZ, that fire is what the eye goes to first. The Moissanite catches light differently than the CZ petals around it. The contrast between the center fire and the surrounding white brightness is what gives this design its depth.

In direct sunlight, the center stone throws strong rainbow flashes. In indoor lighting, it reads bright white. The flower mount elevates it above the halo ring — giving it clearance to catch light from the side, not just from above.

The Swiss CZ Halo and Pavé Band

Every stone surrounding the center Moissanite is Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia, lab-created, sourced from Switzerland. That covers the full halo ring of petal-shaped CZ around the center stone, and the three-stone pavé row running along the base band beneath the flower head.

Swiss CZ is not Moissanite. José Lux states this clearly because we want you to know exactly what you're buying. CZ doesn't have the same fire. What well-sourced Swiss CZ does have is clean, consistent brightness — and when it's color-matched to a D-grade Moissanite center, the transition between the center stone and the surrounding halo reads seamlessly from a normal wearing distance. The halo petals frame the Moissanite. The band stones anchor the earring visually. The Moissanite is the certified center. The CZ is the architecture around it.

The halo ring is individually hand-set at our Vietnam workshop — each petal stone positioned and tensioned by hand. The band pavé is channel-adjacent: three stones running down the base, set flush and close. Getting the alignment right between the flower head and the band requires bench work at every stage. The transition has to be clean. On these earrings, it is.

The Lever Back Closure — Hinged Sterling Silver

The lever back is an omega-style hinged closure built entirely from 925 sterling silver. No plated brass. No base metal components. The hinge, the lever arm, the omega loop, and the post are all silver, fabricated and assembled by hand at our José Lux workshop.

The mechanism: press the tab at the base of the lever arm, and the loop opens. The post goes through the piercing. The lever arm swings back down and closes the omega loop around the post — locking the earring in position. Closed, there is no lateral movement. The lock is firm. For a flower earring with this much stone coverage and weight, that closure security matters. A push-back or friction post on a earring this size would loosen during wear. The lever back doesn't.

The closure detaches fully from the earring body. The connection between the lever back assembly and the flower mount separates at a fitted joint — clean and secure. This is a deliberate design decision. A center Moissanite in a multi-prong mount, surrounded by a full CZ halo and a three-stone band, accumulates residue in the settings with daily wear. Being able to fully separate the closure means you can clean the earring face without obstruction. Reattachment is firm. The joint doesn't degrade with regular removal and reattachment.

The Metal and Plating

The full earring body — the flower frame, the prong mounts, the halo setting, the band, and the lever back assembly — is 925 sterling silver. 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. The prong mounts on a halo design carry both vertical and lateral stone load. The silver gauge has to be right. Underweight silver flexes at the prong base. Flexing prongs lose tension and stones work loose. José Lux uses properly gauged blanks on this design. That's why the settings hold.

Every earring gets a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our workshop in Vietnam. Not machine-dipped. The artisans doing this work have been plating silver for years. Hand application gives more even coverage at the complex points — the individual prong tips on the halo, the curved edges of the flower frame, the hinge joint on the lever back. Machine dipping pools at flat surfaces and misses the detail geometry.

Rhodium is harder than gold and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, many José Lux customers re-plate after five years. Some have gone eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions.

Certification

Every pair ships with the full GRA gemological certificate for the Moissanite center stone — one certificate per earring, two certificates per pair. Each report confirms Color D, Clarity FL, Round Brilliant cut, and carries a unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate. Not a card. The same certificate format used in professional gemological documentation.

Warranty and Repairs

Every prong on a José Lux earring is hand-adjusted for tension before the piece ships. Stone loss from normal daily earring wear is extremely rare. That's by design, not luck.

If a stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

  • Swiss CZ halo and band stones: Re-setting or replacing accent stones is always free. José Lux imports CZ in volume and absorbs the cost entirely.
  • Moissanite center stone: Re-setting labor is always free. If the stone needs replacement, charged at our Hong Kong import cost — never at retail.
  • Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions.

What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — an earring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible prong deformation from a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually and communicates honestly about what's observed. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we'll still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.

Shipping

Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux states that honestly rather than promise a window we can't control.

Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, or damaged — you're covered in full. Even if an incorrect address was entered at checkout, a full refund is issued. You either receive your earrings in perfect condition or you get your money back.

Your earrings ship in two layers: the inner box holds the earrings securely with anti-shock protection; the outer box protects everything in transit. Inside: the GRA certificates, a silver polishing cloth, and a José Lux workshop warranty card.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who set your center Moissanite, hand-set the Swiss CZ halo petals, build the lever back closure from sterling silver, and hand-plate every surface have been doing this work for years. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every halo stone follows its mount individually. Every lever back is tested for hinge tension and lock security before the earring ships.

A flower halo over a pavé band isn't a simple setting. The center prong mount, the surrounding halo ring, and the base band all have to align and transition cleanly. Getting the flower head to sit level on the band, getting all halo stones to follow the ring consistently, getting the lever back to close flush — none of that happens without precise bench work. We've done it enough times to know where cheaper versions of this design fail. Ours don't, because the work is done correctly from the start.

Your Earrings Arrive Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your earrings ship in two layers of packaging. The inner jewelry box holds each earring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the earrings themselves are wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before they go into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.

Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your earrings in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.

FAQ

What is a lever back earring and why does it matter?

A lever back is a hinged closure where a lever arm swings down and locks an omega loop around the post after it passes through the piercing. The lock is mechanical — not friction-based like a push back. For an earring with the weight and stone coverage of this design, the lever back is the right closure. A friction post loosens during movement. A lever back doesn't. Press the tab, open the loop, post goes through, lever closes and clicks. Secure for a full day of wear without adjustment. The lever back on these earrings is built entirely from 925 sterling silver — not plated brass — and it detaches fully from the earring body for cleaning.

Can I remove the lever back for cleaning?

Yes. The lever back assembly detaches cleanly from the flower mount at a fitted joint. This is deliberate. A center Moissanite in a multi-prong halo mount, surrounded by CZ petal stones and a pavé band, needs proper cleaning access. Being able to fully separate the closure means you can clean the stone settings without obstruction. Warm water and mild soap, a soft brush to get between the prongs and into the halo, rinse clean. Reattach the lever back — the joint is firm and the connection doesn't degrade with regular removal and reattachment.

What is the difference between the center Moissanite and the surrounding CZ stones?

The center stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — Color D, Clarity FL. Lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond — José Lux states this plainly. Moissanite has more fire than diamond, meaning stronger rainbow dispersion in directional light. In a halo setting, the center stone throws color outward while the surrounding stones hold steady brightness. That's the visual contrast that gives this design depth. The surrounding stones — the halo ring and the pavé band — are all Swiss CZ, cubic zirconia sourced from Switzerland. CZ is brighter and more consistent than low-grade stones, but it doesn't have the same fire as Moissanite. José Lux selects Swiss CZ that color-matches the D-grade Moissanite so the halo reads as one cohesive cluster at normal wearing distance.

How does this earring look in person?

The flower face is large and stone-dense. The center Moissanite sits elevated in its mount — in direct light it fires rainbow color. The surrounding CZ halo reads bright white and frames the center stone cleanly. Below the flower head, the three-stone pavé band runs down the base of the earring and continues the stone coverage onto the lower portion. The lever back sits flush against the ear when closed — the mechanism is proportional and doesn't protrude. The rhodium plated white gold finish reads mirror-bright across the entire surface. This earring is not subtle. The stone coverage is continuous from the top of the flower to the base of the band. If you want something quiet, this isn't it.

How long does the plating last?

The rhodium plated white gold finish is hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop — not machine-dipped. Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear. Many customers re-plate after five years. The longest we've recorded before a first re-plate: eight years of daily wear. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and whether you take the earrings off around chemicals all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at José Lux. Whenever the time comes, we take care of it.

What does the warranty cover?

Prong settings on José Lux earrings are built to hold — stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. If it happens with no evidence of impact damage: Swiss CZ halo and band stones are re-set for free, no exceptions. Moissanite re-setting labor is always free; replacement stone is charged at our Hong Kong import cost only, never at retail. Re-plating is always free, no time limit. What's not covered: visible prong deformation from a drop or hard impact. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we quote the cost clearly before any work is done.

How does shipping work?

Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux is honest about that rather than promising a window we can't control. Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, including an incorrect delivery address, a full refund is issued.

Where are these earrings made?

Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. The artisans who set the center Moissanite, hand-set the CZ halo and band, build the lever back from silver, and hand-plate every surface have been doing this work for years — longer than most jewelry brands have been selling online. A flower halo with a pavé band and a functioning hinged closure requires more bench time than a single-stone design. This is José Lux's own workshop, not a third-party factory. The origin isn't a footnote — it's the reason the craft is consistent.
