José Lux builds the Moissanite Lotus Flower Ring in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold), in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. The gold weight is 1.19 g in 10K gold and 1.34 g in 14K gold. Every stone on this ring is Moissanite, GRA Certified at the center — there’s no Swiss CZ anywhere on the ring. A cluster of seven round Moissanite stones sits at the center, one stone surrounded by six, and around that cluster José Lux shapes six curved, pointed gold petals that open outward like a blooming lotus. It’s a different silhouette from our other cluster rings — rounder and more pointed at the tips than the quatrefoil loops on the Vintage Flower Cluster, and a single symmetric bloom instead of the Daisy Cluster’s leaf-and-vine frame.

The lotus petals carry no stones of their own — every stone on the ring sits in the cluster at the center, and the six petals around it are sculpted, polished gold. Getting six curved petals to open at matching angles, each one pointed and symmetric with its neighbors, takes more shaping and hand-finishing than a flat frame would. We’ve been alloying gold and setting Moissanite at the same bench in Hồ Chí Minh City for years. A blooming lotus shape reads as one continuous flower only when every petal curves the same way — that consistency is bench work, not a mold.

The Moissanite Cluster — Seven Stones, Six Petals

The center stone is GRA Certified Moissanite — Color D-FL, colorless and internally flawless, Mohs 9.25. It ships with its own GRA report, carrying a unique laser-inscribed ID traceable to that specific stone. Moissanite isn’t a diamond, and José Lux won’t tell you it is. It’s lab-created silicon carbide with its own optical signature — more fire than diamond, which means more rainbow flash under direct light.

The six stones surrounding the center are the same material, cut and matched to the center stone for color and brilliance. José Lux hand-selects each one at the bench so the cluster reads as one dense circle of light, not seven mismatched stones. What they don’t carry is an individual GRA report — grading each melee-sized stone on a cluster this dense isn’t practical at this price point, and we’d rather say that plainly than let you assume otherwise. The center stone is the one with the paperwork. The surrounding stones are the same certified-grade Moissanite, hand-set, without individual certificates.

The lotus petals around the cluster are metal only — no stones set into the curves or the points. That keeps the sparkle concentrated at the center, with the gold petals reading as the bloom around it, not as more sparkle.

The Gold and Karat Options

The band is solid gold — never gold-filled, never gold-plated. José Lux offers the Lotus Flower Ring in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold). 10K carries less pure gold and more of the harder alloy metals, so it resists everyday scratching a little better. 14K carries more pure gold, which reads deeper and warmer, especially in Yellow Gold. Neither is the “better” metal — they’re two different tradeoffs, and José Lux sells both instead of steering you toward one.

Every karat comes in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. The color isn’t a coating — it comes from the alloy formula, the ratio of copper, silver, zinc, or palladium mixed into the gold during alloying. José Lux’s White Gold is nickel-free; the white tone comes from silver, zinc, or palladium in the mix, not nickel, which matters if you’re sensitive to it.

Every ring goes through four stages at the José Lux workshop before it ships. We alloy 24K gold down to 10K or 14K by hand, in the exact ratio for the karat and color ordered. The band and the six petals are cast from a 3D CAD design using lost-wax casting, then hand-set with the Moissanite cluster stone by stone, and polished to finish. Before it leaves Hồ Chí Minh City, we test the karat with an XRF machine, check for nickel, and stamp the legal karat hallmark.

The center stone ships with a full GRA gemological report — Color D-FL, Mohs 9.25, and a unique report number traceable to that stone. It’s a Moissanite report, not a diamond grading report, and José Lux states that plainly rather than let the paperwork imply something it isn’t.

Warranty and Repairs

Every José Lux gold ring carries a lifetime warranty. Repairs are free — for life, no expiration date. Every prong on the cluster is checked and adjusted by hand before the ring ships, which is why a stone coming loose from normal daily wear is rare.

If a Moissanite stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no impact — José Lux resets it for free, center stone or surrounding stone. What’s not covered: stone loss from a hard impact, a drop, or a strike against a hard surface. That’s not treated as a manufacturing defect. The lotus petals are solid cast metal, but the pointed tips sit raised and slightly open at the edges, so they’re more exposed to a direct knock than a flat setting would be — worth knowing if you wear rings while working with your hands. José Lux reviews every case individually before deciding next steps, and if a repair falls outside the warranty, we’ll still fix it at cost, with a quote before anything is done.

Our Workshop

José Lux works out of Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam. The same team that alloys the gold sets the cluster and shapes each lotus petal by hand — nothing about this ring passes through a third-party factory. A blooming lotus shape is unforgiving: all six petals have to curve the same way and open at matching angles, and the cluster at the center has to sit level inside the bloom. We’ve done it enough times to know where it goes wrong, and where it holds.

Is every stone on this ring Moissanite, or is some of it CZ?

Every stone on the Moissanite Lotus Flower Ring is Moissanite — center and cluster. That’s different from José Lux’s channel and pavé settings on other lines, which pair a Moissanite center with Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia) accents. Here, there’s no CZ anywhere on the ring — and the six lotus petals around the cluster carry no stones at all, CZ or Moissanite. The center stone carries its own GRA certificate; the surrounding stones are the same material, hand-matched, without individual reports.
