Jose Lux has been setting Moissanite stones for over a decade. The Lotus Flower Stud is one of the most stone-specific designs we make — a round brilliant Moissanite center stone elevated in a multi-prong mount, encircled by a ring of marquise-cut Swiss CZ petals arranged in a full lotus formation, with smaller round Swiss CZ accent stones nestled between each petal. The lotus silhouette is architectural: the marquise petals project outward and slightly upward, giving the earring face genuine depth and a three-dimensional petal structure you can see from the side, not just from the front.
The post and screw-back system on this earring are built from 925 sterling silver at our Vietnam workshop. The screw-back nut threads fully onto the post and locks in place — it doesn't rely on friction. It can be fully removed from the post for cleaning when needed. That matters on a lotus design where the petal mounts and accent stone seats accumulate residue over time. Being able to detach the back and access every surface of the earring face is how you keep the stones bright long-term.
One pair — two earrings. The Moissanite center, the marquise CZ petal ring, the round CZ accent stones between the petals, the screw-back closure — all of it handmade at our workshop in Vietnam.
The Center Stone — GRA Moissanite, Round Brilliant
The center stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — Color D, Clarity FL. Colorless and internally flawless. Round brilliant cut, 58 facets. Each stone ships with its own GRA certificate carrying a unique report ID traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate. Not a card.

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and Jose Lux won't tell you it is. What it has is more fire than diamond — stronger rainbow dispersion in directional light. In a lotus setting where the center stone is elevated above a ring of petal stones, that fire reads from every angle. The center fires. The surrounding CZ petals hold steady brightness around it. The difference between the two optical behaviors is what gives this design its focal point.
The multi-prong mount keeps the center stone raised above the petal ring — not flush with it. That elevation matters. Light enters from the side as well as from above. The stone has full 360-degree light exposure. In direct sunlight, it throws strong rainbow color. In indoor light, it reads clean and clearly dominant over the surrounding CZ.
The Swiss CZ Lotus Petals — Marquise Cut
The petal ring is marquise-cut Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia, lab-created, sourced from Switzerland. Marquise is an elongated oval cut with pointed ends. Each petal stone is individually set in a two-prong mount with the pointed end projecting outward, creating the petal shape. Together, the full ring of marquise stones forms the lotus silhouette: a layered flower with defined, projecting petal tips.

Why marquise for a lotus design. A round stone in a petal mount reads as a halo — a flat ring of stones around the center. A marquise stone with the pointed tip projecting outward reads as a petal with directionality and form. The pointed ends give each petal a tip. The wider body gives each petal visible mass. That's the lotus shape — and it only works if the marquise stones are set at the correct projection angle. Too flat and it reads like a halo. Too steep and the petals stand up awkwardly. Jose Lux sets these by hand at our Vietnam workshop. The prong tension on each marquise stone controls the projection angle. Getting it right across eight or more petals, consistently on both earrings, is the bench work that makes the lotus read as a lotus.
Between each marquise petal sits a smaller round Swiss CZ accent stone. Its job is to fill the visual space between the petal tips and the center mount, preventing gaps that would break the lotus silhouette. Each accent stone is individually prong-set. They're smaller than the petal stones but they do structural visual work — without them, the lotus reads as a spoke wheel, not a flower.
Swiss CZ is not Moissanite. Jose Lux states this plainly. CZ doesn't have Moissanite's fire. What well-sourced Swiss CZ has is clean, consistent brightness that color-matches D-grade Moissanite. From a normal wearing distance, the lotus reads as one cohesive stone cluster. Up close, the center Moissanite fires distinctly. That's the correct behavior for this design.
The Post and Screw-Back Closure — Sterling Silver
The post and screw-back system are built entirely from 925 sterling silver. The post is solid silver. The screw-back nut is solid silver. The decorative backplate disc — the flat piece that sits against the back of the earlobe — is also silver, with a floral cut pattern that keeps it lightweight while maintaining structure.

The screw-back mechanism works by threading. The nut winds down the threaded post until it locks in position against the back of the ear. That threading is why this closure is more secure than a standard push-back. A push-back relies on friction to hold the nut on the post — friction that weakens with daily removal and re-insertion. A screw-back threads and locks. It doesn't loosen from movement or wear.

The nut and backplate assembly detaches fully from the post. Unscrew it, and the complete screw-back piece comes free. This is relevant for cleaning. A lotus flower design with a marquise petal ring and accent stones between each petal has multiple setting recesses that collect residue during daily wear. Being able to fully remove the back closure means you can clean the full earring face — including the base of the center mount and the inside faces of the petal settings — without obstruction. Warm water, a soft brush, rinse clean. The threading re-engages exactly the same way every time.
The post material matters. A silver post sits against the ear for hours at a time, multiple days a week. Plated brass posts corrode when the plating wears — the brass underneath reacts with skin moisture. Jose Lux uses solid 925 sterling silver for both the post and the screw-back nut. No base metal contact with the ear, ever.
The Metal and Plating
The full earring — the lotus frame, the marquise petal mounts, the accent stone prongs, the center mount, and the screw-back assembly — is 925 sterling silver. 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. The marquise petal mounts carry real lateral load from the projecting stone weight. The prong walls have to hold each marquise stone at its projection angle without flexing over time. That requires properly gauged silver from the start. Underweight silver flexes at the prong base and petal stones gradually shift position.
Every earring gets a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our workshop in Vietnam. Not machine-dipped. Our artisans have been hand-plating silver for years. Hand application is the only way to get even coverage on a lotus design — the inside faces of the petal mounts, the prong tips on the accent stones, the transition between the center mount and the petal ring, the threading on the screw-back post. Machine dipping fills the flat surfaces and misses everything recessed. Hand application reaches all of it.
Rhodium is harder than gold and creates a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, many Jose Lux customers re-plate after five years. Some have gone eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at Jose Lux — no time limit, no conditions.
Certification

Every pair ships with the full GRA gemological certificate for the Moissanite center stone — one certificate per earring, two certificates per pair. Each report confirms Color D, Clarity FL, Round Brilliant cut, and carries a unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate. Not a card. The same certificate format used in professional gemological documentation.

Warranty and Repairs
Every prong on a Jose Lux earring is hand-adjusted for tension before the piece ships. Stone loss from normal daily earring wear is extremely rare. That's by design, not luck.
If a stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — Jose Lux handles it:
- Swiss CZ petal and accent stones: Re-setting or replacing accent stones is always free. Jose Lux imports CZ in volume and absorbs the cost entirely.
- Moissanite center stone: Re-setting labor is always free. If the stone needs replacement, charged at our Hong Kong import cost — never at retail.
- Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the Jose Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions.
What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — an earring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible prong deformation consistent with a fall. Jose Lux inspects each case individually and communicates honestly about what's observed. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we'll still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.
Shipping
Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — Jose Lux states that honestly rather than promise a window we can't control.
Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, or damaged — you're covered in full. Even if an incorrect address was entered at checkout, a full refund is issued. You either receive your earrings in perfect condition or you get your money back.
Your earrings ship in two layers: the inner box holds the earrings securely with anti-shock protection; the outer box protects everything in transit. Inside every order: the GRA certificates, a silver polishing cloth, and a Jose Lux workshop warranty card.

Our Workshop
Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who hand-set the Moissanite center stones, mount each marquise CZ petal, set the round CZ accents between the petals, fabricate the screw-back closures from sterling silver, and hand-plate every surface have been doing this work for years.
A lotus petal formation is a harder setting than a round halo. Every marquise stone has to sit at the same projection angle. The pointed tips have to read as a clean, even ring of petals — not a jumbled ring of angled stones. The accent stones between the petals have to be set at a height that visually fills the space without crowding the petal tips. The screw-back threading has to be clean enough to engage smoothly under daily use. None of this is machine work. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every petal stone is positioned by hand. Every earring is checked before it ships. We've done this design enough times to know exactly what it takes to get the lotus to read correctly. The craft is consistent because the same artisans do this work every day.

Your Earrings Arrive Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your earrings ship in two layers of packaging. The inner jewelry box holds each earring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the earrings themselves are wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before they go into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.
Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your earrings in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.
FAQ
What makes this a lotus design — how is the petal formation built?
The lotus shape comes from the marquise-cut CZ petal stones. Marquise is an elongated oval with two pointed ends. Each stone is set with one pointed end projecting outward from the center mount — that projection is the petal tip. A full ring of these stones, with the tips pointing outward in all directions, forms the lotus silhouette. Between each marquise petal sits a smaller round CZ accent stone that fills the visual gap between petal tips. Without those accent stones, the ring reads as spokes with empty space between them. With them, the full lotus face reads as a continuous, layered flower. Getting the marquise projection angle right — not too flat, not too steep — is the bench work that makes the lotus look like a lotus rather than a starburst or a halo.
Why is the screw-back built from sterling silver?
Two reasons. Security and skin contact. A screw-back threads onto the post and locks — it doesn't rely on friction the way a push-back does. That threading holds throughout daily movement, exercise, and sleep. The screw doesn't back off the way a friction nut gradually loosens. The second reason: the post and screw-back nut sit against and through the ear for hours at a time. Jose Lux uses solid 925 sterling silver for both — no plated brass, no base metal. Brass corrodes when the plating wears. Corroding metal against a piercing is not something we're willing to build into our earrings. The silver posts and screw-backs are also fully removable for cleaning, which matters on a lotus design where the petal settings need brush access.
How do I clean these earrings?
Unscrew the back nut and remove it from the post. The full earring face — lotus petal ring, accent stone seats, center mount — is now open for cleaning. Use a soft toothbrush or jewelry brush with warm water and mild soap. Work the bristles between the marquise petal mounts and into the accent stone prong seats. Rinse thoroughly. Let it dry completely before reattaching the screw-back. The threading re-engages cleanly every time. That cleaning routine keeps the CZ stones bright and prevents residue from dulling the rhodium finish over time.
How does this earring look on the ear?
The lotus face is wide and dimensional. The marquise petals project outward and slightly upward, giving the earring a three-dimensional form that reads clearly from the side, not just front-on. The center Moissanite sits elevated above the petal ring and fires independently — in direct light it throws rainbow color while the CZ petals hold bright white around it. The screw-back disc sits flat against the back of the lobe and doesn't show from the front. The rhodium plated white gold finish is mirror-bright across the entire earring face. This is a statement earring. The lotus silhouette is distinct and bold. If you want something quiet, this isn't it.
How long does the plating last?
Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. Many Jose Lux customers re-plate after five years. The longest we've recorded before a first re-plate: eight years of daily wear. Skin chemistry, how often you wear them, and whether you take them off around chemicals all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at Jose Lux. No time limit. Ship them back to us whenever the finish needs refreshing and we take care of it.
What does the warranty cover?
Prong settings on Jose Lux earrings are built to hold — stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. If it happens with no evidence of impact damage: Swiss CZ petal and accent stones are re-set for free, no exceptions. Moissanite re-setting labor is always free; replacement stone is charged at our Hong Kong import cost only, never at retail. Re-plating is always free, no time limit. What's not covered: visible prong deformation from a drop or hard impact. Jose Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we quote the cost clearly before any work is done.
How does shipping work?
Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — Jose Lux is honest about that rather than promising a window we can't control. Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, including an incorrect delivery address, a full refund is issued.
Where are these earrings made?
Handmade at the Jose Lux workshop in Vietnam. The artisans who set the center Moissanite, individually mount each marquise CZ petal at the correct projection angle, set the round CZ accent stones between the petals, fabricate the screw-back assembly from silver, and hand-plate every surface have been doing this work for years — longer than most jewelry brands have been selling online. A lotus petal formation with eight or more individually-angled marquise stones requires more bench time than a standard round halo. This is Jose Lux's own workshop, not a third-party factory.
