José Lux has been setting Moissanite stones for over a decade. Solitaire stud earrings are the simplest design we make — and the hardest to do wrong without it showing. One stone per ear. No surrounding stones to pull attention. Nowhere to hide a weak prong or a stone that sits off-center.

These earrings are a round brilliant Moissanite in a six-prong solitaire mount, set on a sterling silver post with a screw-back closure. That's it. The design doesn't move — but every component has been selected and built to hold over years of daily wear.
What you're looking at in the images: the face of the earring in wear, the back of the mount, the post and screw-back system fully extended, and a close-up of the screw threading. All of it is relevant to how this earring wears.
The Center Stone — GRA Moissanite, Round Brilliant
The stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — Color D, Clarity FL. Colorless and internally flawless. Round brilliant cut, 58 facets. Each stone ships with its own GRA certificate carrying a unique report ID traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate. Not a card.

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and we won't tell you it is. It has its own optical properties — more fire than diamond, which means more rainbow dispersion in directional light. In a solitaire design with no surrounding stones, that fire reads clearly from every angle. There's nothing else on the earring to compete with it.
In direct sunlight, a Moissanite solitaire throws strong color flashes. In indoor lighting, it stays bright and white. The six-prong mount keeps the stone elevated off the disc — giving it room to catch light from the side. That elevation matters. Low-set solitaires flatten the stone optically. These don't.
The Six-Prong Mount
This earring uses six prongs, not four. The difference in stone security is real. Four prongs work — but if one prong catches on hair or clothing and bends, the stone has only three points of contact. Six prongs give the stone a full surround of metal contact. One prong bending doesn't compromise the hold.

Every prong on a José Lux earring is hand-adjusted for tension before the piece ships. The bench artisans at our Vietnam workshop check each prong individually under magnification and run a firm push test on the stone. Prong tension on a stud earring has to account for real-world wear: contact with hair, removal twice a day, brushing against clothing. We set prong tension accordingly.
If a stone comes loose under normal daily wear — no drops, no hard impacts — José Lux re-sets it free of charge. CZ accent stones are free, no conditions. Moissanite re-setting labor is always free. If the Moissanite center stone is lost and needs replacement, we charge at our Hong Kong import cost only — never at retail.
The Post and Screw-Back Closure

The post and screw-back system is fully sterling silver. The images show the complete back assembly: the threaded post, the butterfly-style screw-back nut with visible threading, and the floral-cut backplate disc. Fully removable. Fully cleanable.

Screw-back closures are more secure than push-back closures for everyday wear. The nut threads onto the post rather than relying on friction. Once tightened, it doesn't loosen during normal movement. For earrings worn daily — including through sleep, exercise, or travel — that threading is what keeps the earring in place.
The closure can be fully removed for cleaning when needed. The threading is made to last. The silver construction means no coated-brass post corroding against your ear over time. This is the closure we use on every stud earring we make.
The Metal and Plating
The post and mount are 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. Every earring gets a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our workshop in Vietnam. Not machine-dipped. The artisans doing this work have been plating silver for years. Hand application gives more even coverage at the detail points — the prong edges, the mount transition, the post-to-disc joint.
Rhodium is harder than gold and sits as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, many José Lux customers re-plate after five years. Some have recorded eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect how long it holds. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions.
Certification
Every pair ships with the full GRA gemological certificate for each Moissanite stone — one certificate per stone, meaning two certificates per pair. Each report confirms Color D, Clarity FL, Round Brilliant cut, and carries a unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate. Not a card.

Warranty and Repairs
Every prong on a José Lux stud earring is adjusted by hand at our Vietnam workshop. Stone loss from normal daily earring wear is extremely rare. That's by design, not luck.
If a stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:
- CZ and Swiss ECZ accent stones: Re-setting or replacing accent stones is always free.
- Moissanite center stone: Re-setting labor is always free. If the stone needs replacement, charged at our Hong Kong import cost — never at retail.
- Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions.
What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — an earring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible prong deformation consistent with a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually and communicates honestly about what's observed. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we'll still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.
Shipping
Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux states that honestly rather than promise a window we can't control.
Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, or damaged — you're covered in full. Even if an incorrect address was entered at checkout, a full refund is issued. You either receive your earrings in perfect condition or you get your money back.
Your earrings ship in two layers: the inner box holds the earrings securely with anti-shock protection; the outer box protects everything in transit.

Our Workshop
Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who hand-set your Moissanite stones and hand-plate your silver posts have been doing this work for years. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every screw-back is tested before shipment. Every earring is plated by hand.
A solitaire stud looks simple. Getting the prong tension right, the stone seated level, the screw-back threading clean — none of that happens by machine. It's bench work, done correctly, on every piece. We've done it long enough to know where cheaper versions of this design fail. Ours don't, because the work is done correctly from the start.
Your Earrings Arrive Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your earrings ship in two layers of packaging. The inner jewelry box holds each earring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the earrings themselves are wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before they go into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.
Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your earrings in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.
FAQ
What is the difference between a screw-back and a push-back closure?
A push-back closure uses friction to hold the earring post. A screw-back threads onto the post — the nut winds down the threading and locks in place. For daily wear, that threading is significantly more secure than friction alone. The earring won't loosen during movement, exercise, or sleep. The back can be fully removed from the post for cleaning whenever needed. The screw-back nut, post, and backplate disc on these earrings are all 925 sterling silver — not plated brass. That matters for long-term wear against the ear.
Is the stone really Moissanite? How do I know?
Each stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — one physical certificate per stone, meaning two certificates in your order. Every certificate carries a unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Color D. Clarity FL. Round Brilliant cut. The certificate format is the same used in professional gemological documentation. Moissanite is not a diamond — José Lux states this plainly because we want you to know exactly what you're buying. It is lab-created silicon carbide with more fire than diamond. In direct light, it produces stronger rainbow flashes. That's the optical character of the stone.
Why six prongs instead of four?
Four prongs work. But stud earrings in daily wear get more incidental contact than rings do — hair brushing, removal twice a day, contact with clothing. If one prong on a four-prong setting bends, the stone has three points of contact. Six prongs mean one prong issue doesn't compromise security. José Lux hand-adjusts every prong before the earrings ship and checks tension under magnification. For a solitaire stud worn daily, six prongs is the right call.
How does the ring look in person?
The Moissanite solitaire reads clean and bright. The six-prong mount elevates the stone off the disc, which allows light to enter from the side — the stone doesn't sit flat. In direct sunlight, the stone throws strong color flashes. The rhodium plated white gold finish sits bright white and mirror-polished. The screw-back disc is small, sits flush behind the ear, and doesn't show. The overall profile is classic solitaire — prominent stone, clean lines, no distractions. If you want something understated, these are not understated. The stone is meant to be seen.
How long does the plating last?
The rhodium plated white gold finish is hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop — not machine-dipped. Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear. In practice, many of our customers re-plate after five years, and we have recorded eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, how often you wear them, and whether you take them off around chemicals all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop. Whenever the time comes, we take care of it.
What does the warranty cover?
Prong settings on José Lux earrings are built to hold — stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. If it happens with no evidence of impact damage: CZ and Swiss ECZ stones are re-set for free. Moissanite re-setting labor is always free; replacement stone charged at our Hong Kong import cost only. Re-plating is always free, no time limit. What's not covered: visible prong deformation from a drop or hard impact. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we quote the cost clearly before any work is done.
How does shipping work?
Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux is honest about that rather than promising a window we can't control. Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, including an incorrect delivery address, a full refund is issued.
Where are these earrings made?
Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. The artisans who set your prongs and plate your posts have been doing this work for years — longer than most jewelry brands have been selling online. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every post is plated by hand. This is José Lux's own workshop, not a third-party factory. The origin isn't a footnote — it's the reason the craft is consistent.
