José Lux builds the Moissanite Star Cluster Ring in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold), in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. Every stone on this ring is Moissanite, GRA Certified at the center — there’s no Swiss CZ anywhere on the ring. An elongated cluster of round Moissanite stones sits at the middle, tapered narrower at the top and bottom, layered over a flat eight-point star cut from polished gold. The star points carry no stones of their own — they extend out from behind the cluster, alternating long and short, like a compass badge. It’s a different construction from our Sunburst ring, which builds a round halo and individual ray points around a center cluster — here, the star is one flat shape behind a single elongated cluster.

Cutting eight star points at alternating lengths, then centering a tapered stone cluster over them so the points show evenly on both sides, takes more layout work at the bench than a round backdrop would. The cluster itself steps down in size toward the top and bottom, so the stones have to be sized and matched in sequence, not just packed in. We’ve been alloying gold and setting Moissanite at the same bench in Hồ Chí Minh City for years. Getting the star points to sit symmetric behind an off-round cluster is a layout problem as much as a setting one.

The Moissanite Cluster — An Elongated Cluster Over a Flat Star

The center stone is GRA Certified Moissanite — Color D-FL, colorless and internally flawless, Mohs 9.25. It ships with its own GRA report, carrying a unique laser-inscribed ID traceable to that specific stone. Moissanite isn’t a diamond, and José Lux won’t tell you it is. It’s lab-created silicon carbide with its own optical signature — more fire than diamond, which means more rainbow flash under direct light.

The stones filling out the rest of the cluster are the same material, cut and matched to the center stone for color and brilliance. José Lux hand-selects each one at the bench so the cluster tapers smoothly from wide at the middle to narrow at the tips, without a visible jump in stone size. What they don’t carry is an individual GRA report — grading every melee-sized stone on a tapered cluster this size isn’t practical at this price point, and we’d rather say that plainly than let you assume otherwise. The center stone is the one with the paperwork. Every other stone in the cluster is the same certified-grade Moissanite, hand-set, without individual certificates.

The eight-point star behind the cluster is metal only — no stones set into any of the points. That’s what gives this ring its shape from a distance: a compact, sparkling cluster with a flat gold star reaching out behind it.

The Gold and Karat Options

The band is solid gold — never gold-filled, never gold-plated. José Lux offers the Star Cluster Ring in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold). 10K carries less pure gold and more of the harder alloy metals, so it resists everyday scratching a little better. 14K carries more pure gold, which reads deeper and warmer, especially in Yellow Gold. Neither is the “better” metal — they’re two different tradeoffs, and José Lux sells both instead of steering you toward one.

Every karat comes in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. The color isn’t a coating — it comes from the alloy formula, the ratio of copper, silver, zinc, or palladium mixed into the gold during alloying. José Lux’s White Gold is nickel-free; the white tone comes from silver, zinc, or palladium in the mix, not nickel, which matters if you’re sensitive to it.

Every ring goes through four stages at the José Lux workshop before it ships. We alloy 24K gold down to 10K or 14K by hand, in the exact ratio for the karat and color ordered. The star and the band are cast from a 3D CAD design using lost-wax casting, then hand-set with the Moissanite cluster stone by stone, and polished to finish. Before it leaves Hồ Chí Minh City, we test the karat with an XRF machine, check for nickel, and stamp the legal karat hallmark.

Certification

The center stone ships with a full GRA gemological report — Color D-FL, Mohs 9.25, and a unique report number traceable to that stone. It’s a Moissanite report, not a diamond grading report, and José Lux states that plainly rather than let the paperwork imply something it isn’t.

Warranty and Repairs

Every José Lux gold ring carries a lifetime warranty. Repairs are free — for life, no expiration date. Every prong along the cluster is checked and adjusted by hand before the ring ships, which is why a stone coming loose from normal daily wear is rare.

If a Moissanite stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no impact — José Lux resets it for free, anywhere in the cluster. What’s not covered: stone loss from a hard impact, a drop, or a strike against a hard surface. That’s not treated as a manufacturing defect. The star points extend past the edge of the cluster and taper to a sharp tip, so they’re the first place a sharp knock tends to show — worth knowing if you wear rings while working with your hands. José Lux reviews every case individually before deciding next steps, and if a repair falls outside the warranty, we’ll still fix it at cost, with a quote before anything is done.

Shipping

Ships free via USPS to the United States. Delivery takes 5–7 business days. Every order is 100% insured on its declared value — including cases where an incorrect address was provided at checkout. If something goes wrong in transit, you’re covered in full.

Your ring travels inside a shock-absorbing layer, packed in its own jewelry box, then inside a protective outer box. Every order includes a cleaning cloth and a José Lux warranty card. The same team that set your cluster is the one that packs and ships your order.

Our Workshop

José Lux works out of Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam. The same team that alloys the gold cuts the star points and sets the tapered cluster by hand — nothing about this ring passes through a third-party factory. Centering an elongated cluster over an eight-point star, so the points show evenly on both sides, takes as much attention to layout as it does to stone-setting. We’ve done it enough times to know where it goes wrong, and where it holds.

FAQ

Is every stone on this ring Moissanite, or is some of it CZ?

Every stone on the Moissanite Star Cluster Ring is Moissanite — the full length of the cluster. That’s different from José Lux’s channel and pavé settings on other lines, which pair a Moissanite center with Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia) accents. Here, there’s no CZ anywhere on the ring — and the eight-point star behind the cluster carries no stones at all, CZ or Moissanite. The center stone carries its own GRA certificate; every other stone is the same material, hand-matched, without individual reports.

What’s the difference between this and José Lux's Moissanite Sunburst Cluster Ring?

The Sunburst Cluster Ring builds a round center cluster, a fluted metal halo, and a ring of individually prong-set stones around the outside. The Star Cluster Ring is a different shape — one elongated, tapered cluster of stones set directly over a flat, eight-point star. There’s no separate ring of outer stones here; the star points are bare metal, and all the sparkle stays in the single cluster running down the center.

What’s the difference between 10K and 14K gold?

10K gold is 41.7% pure gold; 14K gold is 58.3% pure gold. 10K carries more of the harder alloy metals, so it resists everyday scratching a little better. 14K carries more pure gold, which reads richer and warmer, especially in Yellow Gold. Both are solid gold — José Lux never sells gold-filled or gold-plated pieces.

Is this ring solid gold, or is it plated?

Solid gold, in both karats. José Lux doesn’t sell gold-filled, gold vermeil, or gold-plated pieces on this line. The color — Yellow, White, or Rose — comes from what’s alloyed into the gold, not a surface coating.

How is the Star Cluster set?

An elongated cluster of round Moissanite stones runs down the middle, tapering narrower toward the top and bottom. It sits layered over a flat, eight-point star cut from polished gold, with the star points extending out on either side. The star carries no stones — every stone on the ring is set into the cluster itself.

What does the warranty cover?

A lifetime warranty with free repairs. If a Moissanite stone anywhere in the cluster comes loose from normal daily wear, José Lux resets it at no charge. Damage from a drop or a hard impact isn’t covered as a manufacturing defect, and the star points taper to a sharp tip past the edge of the cluster, so it’s worth being mindful of knocks if you wear rings while working with your hands. José Lux reviews those cases individually and quotes any repair before starting it.

José Lux Buying Guide 5 FAQs

1. Is it safe to order online at José Lux?

Yes. Our store runs on Shopify, one of the world's most trusted ecommerce platforms. Shopify protects your personal information and your payment with SSL encryption and a secure checkout, so your details stay private and your payment is safe.

2. Do Moissanite and Cubic Zirconia Jewelry Come with GRA Certification?

The main Moissanite stone in each José Lux piece ships with its own GRA (Gemological Research Association) certificate. The report records the stone's color, clarity, cut, and size, and carries a unique report number traceable to that specific stone. Smaller Moissanite accent stones are the same material, hand-matched to the main stone, but they are not certified individually.

Swiss CZ pieces don't come with a GRA certificate. Instead, our CZ is imported with Swiss lot records, so every batch is documented.

3. Is José Lux Jewelry Quality and Accurately Described?

Every José Lux piece is handcrafted to order at our own workshop in Ho Chi Minh City, in 925 sterling silver or solid 10K and 14K gold. Before it ships, we check every prong and stone setting by hand, and each gold piece is tested for karat and stamped with its hallmark. Each listing states the metal, karat, and stones, and your piece is made to match. Colors may vary slightly depending on your screen. If what arrives isn't what you ordered, we'll give you a full refund.

4. Is José Lux Jewelry Shipping Safe?

Yes. Your piece is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer, set inside a jewelry box, and packed in an outer protective box, so it doesn't shift or get scratched in transit. Every shipment is covered by 100% USPS jewelry insurance. If your order is lost, delayed, or damaged in transit, we cover it. We email your tracking number the day your order ships, so you can follow it all the way to your door.

5. How long does it take to receive my order?

Every piece is made to order, so your total time is production plus shipping, counted in business days.

Silver jewelry: Production takes 3–4 business days. Shipping via USPS takes 7–14 business days to the US, 10–15 to Europe, 7–12 to Asia, and 10–20 to other countries. From order to your door, that's about 10–18 business days to the US, 13–19 to Europe, 10–16 to Asia, and 13–24 to other countries.

Gold jewelry (10K and 14K): Gold ships to the United States only. Production takes 6–8 business days and shipping takes 5–7, so about 11–15 business days from order to your door.

We email your tracking number the day your order ships. Customs processing can add time on international orders.
