José Lux has been setting Moissanite earrings for years. The Twist Halo design is one of the more demanding settings we make — a twisted silver frame orbiting the center stone, with Swiss CZ accent stones lining the halo. Every element of this earring has to work in exact relation to the others. Off by a prong and the whole thing reads wrong. We've done this long enough to know where it goes wrong. Ours doesn't.
What you're looking at: a 0.5ct GRA-certified Moissanite center stone in a twisted halo mount, with Swiss CZ accent stones set along the frame, on a sterling silver post with a screw-back closure. One pair — two earrings, matched in stone and construction.
The Center Stone — GRA Moissanite 0.5ct, Round Brilliant
The center stone is 0.5ct GRA-certified Moissanite — Color D, Clarity FL. Colorless and internally flawless. Each stone ships with its own GRA certificate carrying a unique report ID traceable to your specific stone. Two earrings, two certificates. Physical certificate. Not a card.
Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and José Lux won't tell you it is. It has its own optical character — more fire than diamond, which means stronger rainbow dispersion in directional light. In a halo design like this one, the Moissanite center stone sits elevated above the CZ frame. The fire reads in every direction.
In direct sunlight, the center stone throws strong color flashes. In indoor lighting, it stays bright and white. The twist halo frame doesn't compete with that — the Swiss CZ accent stones catch light at a different register than the center stone. The two work together. That's the point of the design.
The Twist Halo Frame and Swiss CZ Accent Stones
The frame of this earring is a twisted sterling silver structure — two interlocked bands forming a square orbital around the center stone. The Swiss CZ accent stones are set along the inner edge of this frame, with stones on each side lining the channel between the twisted bands.
Swiss CZ is the right choice for halo accent positions. The stones are cut to precise tolerances for consistent size and calibration — important in a channel setting where irregular stones break the visual line. The stones hold. The spacing is even. That consistency is why we use Swiss CZ in accent positions.
The center stone sits elevated in a four-prong mount within the halo frame. The prongs are hand-adjusted at our Vietnam workshop — not machine-pressed. Prong tension on an earring in daily wear has to account for real-world contact: hair, removal, clothing. We set prong tension accordingly, and check each one individually before the earring ships.
The Post and Screw-Back Closure
The post and screw-back system is fully 925 sterling silver — stamped S925 on the backplate. The images show the complete back assembly: the threaded post, the screw-back nut, and the backplate disc. Fully removable. Fully cleanable.
Screw-back closures are more secure than push-back closures for daily wear. The nut threads onto the post rather than relying on friction. Once tightened, it doesn't loosen during normal movement. For earrings worn daily — through work, exercise, or travel — that threading is what keeps the earring in place.
The closure can be fully detached from the post for cleaning when needed. The threading is built to last. Sterling silver construction means no coated-brass post wearing against your ear over time. This is the closure José Lux uses on every stud earring we make.
The Metal and Plating
The mount and post are 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. Every earring gets a Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish applied by hand at our workshop in Vietnam. Not machine-dipped. The artisans doing this work have been plating silver for years. Hand application gives more even coverage at the detail points — the twisted frame junctions, the prong edges, the post-to-disc joint.
Rhodium is harder than gold and acts as a barrier between the silver and the air. Conservative baseline for this finish: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. In practice, many José Lux customers re-plate after five years. The longest recorded in our workshop files: eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect how long it holds. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions.
Care Instructions
The Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish on these earrings acts as a sealed barrier between the sterling silver and the air. The surface stays bright white and mirror-polished through regular daily wear. José Lux hand-applies this plating at our Vietnam workshop — not machine-dipped — which gives more even coverage at the detail points of the twisted frame.
To keep the earrings looking their best: rinse with warm water and a drop of mild soap after extended wear. Air dry. The silver polishing cloth included with your order maintains the surface between cleans. Remove before swimming, applying perfume, or contact with harsh chemicals — not because the silver will fail, but because the plating lasts longer without repeated chemical exposure.
When the plating eventually wears — and it will, over years of daily wear — re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions.
Warranty and Repairs
Every prong on a José Lux earring is adjusted by hand at our Vietnam workshop. Stone loss from normal daily earring wear is extremely rare. That's the result of how the prongs are built and set — not luck.
If a stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:
- Swiss CZ accent stones: Re-setting or replacing accent stones is always free — no exceptions.
- Moissanite center stone: Re-setting labor is always free. If the stone needs replacement, charged at our Hong Kong import cost only — never at retail.
- Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions.
What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — an earring dropped from height, struck against a hard surface, or showing visible prong deformation from a fall. José Lux inspects each case individually and communicates honestly about what's observed. If a repair falls outside warranty, we still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote before any work is done.
Shipping
Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux states that honestly rather than promise a window we can't control.
Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, or damaged — you're covered in full. Even if an incorrect address was entered at checkout, a full refund is issued. You either receive your earrings in perfect condition or you get your money back.
Your earrings ship in two layers: anti-shock inner packaging holds the earrings inside a dedicated jewelry box; an outer gift box protects everything in transit. A silver polishing cloth and a José Lux workshop warranty card are included. GRA certificates ship with every Moissanite order — one certificate per stone, two per pair.

Our Workshop
Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who hand-set Moissanite stones, place Swiss CZ accents, and plate silver posts have been doing this work for years — longer than most jewelry brands have been selling online.
A twist halo earring looks more complex than a solitaire stud. It is. The twisted frame has to sit level. The CZ channel has to be consistent across the entire halo. The center stone has to sit centered within the frame — not shifted, not tilted. Getting all of that right requires bench work, not machine production. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every screw-back is tested before the earring ships. Every post is plated by hand at the workshop.
Your Earrings Arrive Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your earrings ship in two layers of packaging. The inner jewelry box holds each earring securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the earrings themselves are wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before they go into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.
Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your earrings in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.
We've made enough of these to know where cheaper versions fail — stones that shift within the frame, CZ accents that fall out, plating that chips at the frame junctions. Ours don't, because the work is done correctly from the start.
FAQ
What is the 0.5ct Moissanite center stone, and how does it look in real life?
The center stone is 0.5ct GRA-certified Moissanite — Color D, Clarity FL. In real-world wear, the stone reads bright and white in indoor lighting. In direct sunlight or directional light, it throws strong rainbow color flashes. That's Moissanite's optical character — more fire than diamond means more dispersion. In a halo setting like this one, the stone sits elevated above the frame. The fire is visible from straight-on and from the side. It is not a subtle earring. The center stone is meant to be seen.
Is this a matched pair?
Yes. These earrings are sold as one pair — two earrings, matched in Moissanite stone grade, Swiss CZ accent stones, and construction. Both center stones are GRA-certified Color D, Clarity FL. Both earrings are built from the same plated 925 sterling silver. Two GRA certificates included — one per stone.
What is Swiss CZ and why is it used for the halo?
Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia) is a precision-cut synthetic stone manufactured to tight dimensional tolerances. In a channel-set halo, the stones need to be consistent in size and shape — irregular stones break the visual line of the frame. Swiss CZ is cut to that standard. The stones catch light evenly across the halo and hold consistently over time. For accent positions in a halo design, Swiss CZ is the correct material choice. José Lux is straight about what the stones are.
How does the screw-back closure work?
A screw-back threads onto the post rather than relying on friction to stay in place. The nut winds down the threading and locks. Once tightened, it doesn't loosen during normal movement — exercise, sleep, or daily wear. The back can be fully removed from the post for cleaning. On these earrings, the post, threading, and backplate disc are all 925 sterling silver — not plated brass. That matters for long-term contact with skin.
How long does the plating last?
The Rhodium Plated White Gold Finish is hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop — not machine-dipped. Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear before any noticeable fading. In practice, many José Lux customers re-plate after five years. The longest recorded in our workshop files: eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and exposure to chemicals all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — whenever the time comes, we take care of it.
What does the warranty cover?
Prong settings on José Lux earrings are built to hold — stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. If it happens with no evidence of impact damage: Swiss CZ accent stones are re-set or replaced free, no conditions. Moissanite re-setting labor is free; replacement stone is charged at our Hong Kong import cost only, never at retail. Rhodium re-plating is always free, no time limit. What's not covered: visible prong deformation from a drop or hard impact. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside warranty, we quote the cost clearly before any work is done.
How does shipping work?
Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux is honest about that rather than promise a window we can't control. Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, including an incorrect delivery address, a full refund is issued.
Where are these earrings made?
Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. The artisans who set the Moissanite stones, place the Swiss CZ accents, and hand-plate each post have been doing this work for years. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every screw-back is tested before shipment. Every earring is plated by hand. This is José Lux's own workshop — not a third-party factory.
