Handmade Moissanite Octagon Halo Signet Ring — 10K & 14K Gold, GRA Certified Moissanite Center

José Lux builds the Moissanite Octagon Halo Signet Ring in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold), in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. Gold weight is 11.64 g in 10K gold and 13.10 g in 14K gold. The center stone is Moissanite, GRA Certified, set in a raised circular disc at the middle of an octagon-shaped signet face. A single round halo of Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia) frames the center disc, and the kite-shaped panels that fill out the rest of the octagon are pavé-set with the same Swiss CZ, continuing the pattern down into the shoulders as the octagon tapers into the band. Only the center stone is Moissanite; the halo and every panel around it are Swiss CZ, hand-set piece by piece.

A signet face this size is a lot of surface to keep even. The circular disc at the center has to sit raised and level before the halo goes in around it, and each kite-shaped panel filling the octagon has to hold its pavé at a consistent height, or the flat signet face stops reading as one plane. The panels then have to taper cleanly as the octagon narrows into the shoulders, matching in stone count on both sides. José Lux sets the center stone and halo first, then works outward through the octagon panels, before the shoulders are finished and polished. We've been alloying gold and setting Moissanite and Swiss CZ at the same bench in Hồ Chí Minh City for years, and a signet face this detailed is where that consistency gets tested.

The Moissanite Center and Swiss CZ Halo — Center to Edge

The center stone is GRA Certified Moissanite — Color D-FL, colorless and internally flawless, Mohs 9.25. It ships with its own GRA report, carrying a unique laser-inscribed ID traceable to that specific stone. Moissanite isn't a diamond, and José Lux won't tell you it is. It's lab-created silicon carbide with its own optical signature — more fire than diamond, which means more rainbow flash under direct light.

Every other stone on this ring — the round halo and the pavé filling the octagon panels — is Swiss CZ, not Moissanite. José Lux hand-sets each one at the bench so the halo sits flush around the center disc and the panels read as one continuous field across the signet face. Swiss CZ doesn't carry a GRA report — that certification is specific to the Moissanite center. The center stone is the one piece of this ring with paperwork attached to it; everything around it is built to frame it.

Because the pavé runs from the halo out across the full octagon face and down into the shoulders, the sparkle doesn't stop at the center — turn your hand and the whole signet face catches light together, not just the ring around the stone.

The Gold and Karat Options

The band is solid gold — never gold-filled, never gold-plated. José Lux offers it in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold). 10K carries less pure gold and more of the harder alloy metals, so it resists everyday scratching a little better — a real factor on a ring built for daily wear. 14K carries more pure gold, which reads deeper and warmer, especially in Yellow Gold. Neither is the "better" metal — they're two different tradeoffs, and José Lux sells both instead of steering you toward one. The karat you pick only changes the band; the Moissanite center and Swiss CZ halo and panels stay the same on both options.

Every karat comes in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. The color isn't a coating — it comes from the alloy formula, the ratio of copper, silver, zinc, or palladium mixed into the gold during alloying. José Lux's White Gold is nickel-free; the white tone comes from silver, zinc, or palladium in the mix, not nickel, which matters if you're sensitive to it.

Every ring goes through four stages at the José Lux workshop before it ships. We alloy 24K gold down to 10K or 14K by hand, in the exact ratio for the karat and color ordered. The band is cast from a 3D CAD design using lost-wax casting, then hand-set — the Moissanite center first, then the Swiss CZ halo, then the octagon panels — and polished to finish. Before it leaves Hồ Chí Minh City, we test the karat with an XRF machine, check for nickel, and stamp the legal karat hallmark.

Certification

The center stone ships with a full GRA gemological report — Color D-FL, Mohs 9.25, and a unique report number traceable to that stone. It's a Moissanite report, not a diamond grading report, and José Lux states that plainly rather than let the paperwork imply something it isn't. The Swiss CZ halo and panel stones are not individually certified — Swiss CZ is priced and set as an accent stone, not a graded one.

Warranty and Repairs

Every José Lux gold ring carries a lifetime warranty. Repairs are free — for life, no expiration date. Every prong and every pavé stone across the signet face is checked by hand before it ships, which is why a stone coming loose from normal daily wear is rare.

If a stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no impact — José Lux resets it for free. Swiss CZ resetting is always free, since José Lux imports these stones in bulk. Moissanite center resetting is always free as well. What's not covered: stone loss from a hard impact, a drop, or a strike against a hard surface. That's not treated as a manufacturing defect. José Lux reviews every case individually before deciding next steps, and if a repair falls outside the warranty, we'll still fix it at cost, with a quote before anything is done.

Our Workshop

José Lux works out of Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam. The same team that alloys the gold sets the Moissanite center, hand-sets the Swiss CZ halo, and fills in the octagon panels — nothing about this ring passes through a third-party factory. A wide signet face is one of the more surface-heavy settings we build: every panel has to sit level with the ones around it, from the center disc out to where the octagon tapers into the shoulders. We've done it enough times to know where it goes wrong, and where it holds.
