Handmade Moissanite Pavé Side Stone Ring — 10K & 14K Gold, GRA Certified Moissanite Center

José Lux builds the Moissanite Pavé Side Stone Ring in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold), in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. Gold weight is 6.62 g in 10K gold and 7.45 g in 14K gold. The center stone is Moissanite, GRA Certified, set in a raised square collet at the top of the ring. Around it, a tight frame of Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia) stones halos the center, and the same Swiss CZ stones continue down the ring's shoulder in a wide pavé panel — three columns of stones set close enough together that almost no metal shows between them. That's the same center-and-accent structure as the rest of our pavé and channel line, different from our full-Moissanite Square Halo, where every stone on the ring is Moissanite. Here, one certified Moissanite stone does the talking, and the Swiss CZ pavé carries the light down the shoulder.

Setting a pavé panel this wide takes patience most rings don't ask for. Every Swiss CZ stone in the shoulder panel has to sit at the same height and the same angle as the stone next to it, or the panel reads as uneven instead of solid. José Lux hand-sets each row at the workshop bench, working down from the halo into the shoulder so the pattern stays continuous. The setting itself steps down from the band in a faceted transition — cut at an angle, not rounded — before it opens into the raised collet that holds the center stone. We've been alloying gold and setting Moissanite and Swiss CZ at the same bench in Hồ Chí Minh City for years. A pavé panel this dense is one of the more time-consuming settings we build, and it shows in how flush the stones sit.

The Moissanite Center and Swiss CZ Pavé — Center to Edge

The center stone is GRA Certified Moissanite — Color D-FL, colorless and internally flawless, Mohs 9.25. It ships with its own GRA report, carrying a unique laser-inscribed ID traceable to that specific stone. Moissanite isn't a diamond, and José Lux won't tell you it is. It's lab-created silicon carbide with its own optical signature — more fire than diamond, which means more rainbow flash under direct light.

The stones in the halo and shoulder panel are Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia), not Moissanite. José Lux sources Swiss CZ in bulk and hand-sets each stone at the bench so the pavé panel reads as one continuous sheet of light rather than a row of separate stones. Swiss CZ doesn't carry a GRA report — that certification is specific to the Moissanite center. The center stone is the one piece of this ring with paperwork attached to it; the pavé is there to frame it, not to compete with it.

Because the pavé runs the full length of the shoulder instead of stopping at a halo, the ring catches light along the whole side profile, not just at the top — turn your hand and the shoulder panel moves with the center stone instead of sitting apart from it.

The Gold and Karat Options

The band is solid gold — never gold-filled, never gold-plated. José Lux offers it in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold). 10K carries less pure gold and more of the harder alloy metals, so it resists everyday scratching a little better — a real factor on a ring built for daily wear. 14K carries more pure gold, which reads deeper and warmer, especially in Yellow Gold. Neither is the "better" metal — they're two different tradeoffs, and José Lux sells both instead of steering you toward one.

Every karat comes in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. The color isn't a coating — it comes from the alloy formula, the ratio of copper, silver, zinc, or palladium mixed into the gold during alloying. José Lux's White Gold is nickel-free; the white tone comes from silver, zinc, or palladium in the mix, not nickel, which matters if you're sensitive to it.

Every ring goes through four stages at the José Lux workshop before it ships. We alloy 24K gold down to 10K or 14K by hand, in the exact ratio for the karat and color ordered. The band is cast from a 3D CAD design using lost-wax casting, then hand-set — the Moissanite center first, then the Swiss CZ halo and shoulder pavé — and polished to finish. Before it leaves Hồ Chí Minh City, we test the karat with an XRF machine, check for nickel, and stamp the legal karat hallmark.

Certification

The center stone ships with a full GRA gemological report — Color D-FL, Mohs 9.25, and a unique report number traceable to that stone. It's a Moissanite report, not a diamond grading report, and José Lux states that plainly rather than let the paperwork imply something it isn't. The Swiss CZ pavé stones are not individually certified — Swiss CZ is priced and set as an accent stone, not a graded one.

Warranty and Repairs

Every José Lux gold ring carries a lifetime warranty. Repairs are free — for life, no expiration date. Every prong and every pavé stone on this ring is checked by hand before it ships, which is why a stone coming loose from normal daily wear is rare.

If a stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no impact — José Lux resets it for free. Swiss CZ resetting is always free, since José Lux imports these stones in bulk. Moissanite center resetting is always free as well. What's not covered: stone loss from a hard impact, a drop, or a strike against a hard surface. That's not treated as a manufacturing defect. José Lux reviews every case individually before deciding next steps, and if a repair falls outside the warranty, we'll still fix it at cost, with a quote before anything is done.

Our Workshop

José Lux works out of Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam. The same team that alloys the gold sets the Moissanite center, hand-sets the Swiss CZ pavé, and polishes the band — nothing about this ring passes through a third-party factory. A wide pavé shoulder is one of the more time-consuming settings we build: every stone in the panel has to sit level with the row around it, or the light breaks where it shouldn't. We've done it enough times to know where it goes wrong, and where it holds.
