José Lux has been setting Moissanite stones for over a decade. This is the round halo version of our halo stud line — a 0.8 carat GRA-certified Moissanite center on a six-prong raised mount, surrounded by a single row of Swiss CZ in a circular frame. The halo follows the shape of the center stone exactly. Round on round. The result is a clean, continuous disc that reads larger than the center stone alone.

This is sold as one earring. Most men wear a single stud. The price is for one piece. If you want two, order two.

The Center Stone — GRA Moissanite, 6mm, 0.8ct, Color D, Clarity FL

The center stone is Moissanite — 6mm round brilliant, 0.8 carat equivalent weight, GRA-certified. Color D: colorless, the top grade on the color scale. Clarity FL: internally flawless, no inclusions under 10x magnification. Cut: Excellent. 58 facets. The GRA Moissanite Grading Report ships with the earring — one physical document per stone, unique report number traceable to your specific stone.

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. Not diamond. It has more fire than diamond — stronger rainbow dispersion in directional light. At 0.8ct inside a round halo frame, that fire is the dominant visual effect. In direct sunlight, the stone throws strong directional flashes. In indoor light it reads as a clean, bright, white center stone. That is the optical character of Moissanite. It does not change over time.

Moissanite does not degrade optically. The stone on this earring looks the same in ten years as on day one. Material property of silicon carbide, not a warranty promise.

The Round Halo — Swiss CZ, Single Row, Full Circumference

The halo is one continuous row of Swiss CZ round brilliant stones set in micro-pavé around the full circumference of the disc. The frame is circular — it follows the shape of the center stone directly. This is the design choice that separates a round halo from a square one: the round frame is continuous, uninterrupted, with no corners. It reads as a single unified disc of stone on the ear.

Swiss CZ is the right stone for this halo. It is optically bright, consistent in size, and the right choice for the small rounds that single-row halo work requires. The CZ frame defines the outer edge of the disc and makes the overall stud read larger than the Moissanite center alone. In diffused light the two stone types blend into a single bright surface. In direct light the Moissanite center fires while the CZ halo holds the frame.

Every Swiss CZ stone in the halo is individually hand-set at our Vietnam workshop. Each stone is seated in a micro-pavé cut directly into the silver frame, held by beaded prongs between adjacent stones. The full circumference is checked under magnification — no gaps, no uneven spacing, no proud prong beads. The completed disc is inspected as a whole before the earring ships.

The Six-Prong Center Mount

The center Moissanite sits in a six-prong raised mount at the center of the halo disc. Six prongs for a 0.8ct round stone of this size gives more holding contact than four prongs while keeping the mount profile open enough for light to enter from the sides. The stone is raised above the disc plane — elevated slightly so the pavilion has clearance and the table catches light without the halo rim blocking the view from low angles.

Every prong is hand-adjusted at our Vietnam workshop before the earring ships. Each prong tip is checked for level seat against the stone’s girdle and correct tension under magnification. A center stone that rocks or sits off-level in its mount is a setting failure. We check for it on every piece before it leaves the workshop.

If the center stone comes loose under normal daily wear — no drops, no hard impacts — José Lux re-sets it free of charge. Re-setting labor is always free. Replacement stone at our Hong Kong import cost only, never retail.

The Post and Butterfly Push-Back Closure

The post and butterfly closure are fully 925 sterling silver. Solid silver at every contact point — no plated brass post, no alloy stem. The metal touching your ear is the same material as the earring disc.

The butterfly closure is hand-formed and tensioned at our Vietnam workshop. The two wings are individually shaped so they grip the post at the correct resistance: firm enough to stay in place during movement, exercise, and sleep, releasing cleanly when you pinch both wings and pull straight back off the post. The post threading handles repeated daily removal and reattachment without degrading. This closure is designed to be used every day for years.

The closure is fully removable. Take it off completely whenever you need to clean the post or the rear face of the disc. Unclip, clean, reattach. The mechanism handles that without wearing out. This is the closure we use on our stud earrings because it balances security with a system that works under daily use over a long time.

The Metal and Plating

The disc, halo frame, prongs, and post are 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural rigidity. Every earring receives a rhodium plated white gold finish applied by hand at our workshop in Vietnam. Not machine-dipped. Hand application gives even coverage at the detail points: around each CZ halo stone, at the six prong tips, at the raised mount-to-disc joint.

Rhodium is harder than silver and acts as a barrier between the metal and the air. It keeps the surface bright white and resists tarnish. Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear before any fading is noticeable. Many José Lux customers re-plate at five years. Some have recorded eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect the timeline.

Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions.

GRA Certification

The center Moissanite ships with a GRA Moissanite Grading Report — one physical document per stone. The report confirms: stone type (Moissanite), shape (Round Brilliant), measurements (6mm), carat weight (0.8ct), color grade (D — Colorless), clarity grade (FL — Internally Flawless), cut grade (Excellent). Each report carries a unique report number. The label on the sealed stone pouch shows the same number, linking the physical stone to its grading document.

The GRA report, GRA certificate card, and sealed stone pouch ship with the earring. This is documentation for your specific stone — not a generic brand insert.

Warranty and Repairs

Every prong is hand-adjusted. Every CZ halo stone is individually seated and checked. Every butterfly closure is hand-formed and tested. That’s the standard on every earring we ship.

If something comes loose under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

  • Moissanite center stone: Re-setting labor always free. Replacement stone at Hong Kong import cost only — never retail.
  • Swiss CZ halo stones: Re-setting always free. No charge, no conditions.
  • Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit. No conditions.

What’s not covered: stones lost or prongs bent from hard physical impact — visible deformation consistent with a drop or strike. José Lux inspects every case individually and tells you honestly what we see. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we quote the cost clearly before any work is done.

Shipping

Free via USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated delivery 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux states that honestly rather than promise a window we can’t control.

Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, or damaged — you’re covered in full. Even if an incorrect address was entered at checkout, a full refund is issued. You either receive your earring in perfect condition or you get your money back.

Your earring ships in two layers: the inner box holds the piece securely with anti-shock protection; the outer box protects everything in transit. The GRA report and certificate ship inside the inner box with the earring.

Our Workshop

Our workshop is in Vietnam. The bench artisans who hand-set your Moissanite center stone, set your Swiss CZ round halo, hand-form your butterfly closure, and plate your silver post have been doing this work for years. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every halo stone is seated individually. Every butterfly wing is formed and tensioned by hand before the earring ships.

A round halo stud looks simple from the front. Getting the CZ spacing consistent around the full circle, keeping the halo stones level at every point, setting the Moissanite center raised and square in a six-prong mount inside that ring, and hand-forming a butterfly closure that grips correctly and releases cleanly — that is bench work. Done correctly, checked every time, on every piece. We’ve done enough of these to know exactly where cheaper versions fail: uneven halo spacing at the base, prong beads that sit proud, a center stone that isn’t level in its mount, a butterfly closure that loses grip after a few months. Ours don’t, because the work is done right from the start.

Your Earring Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box, USPS Insured

Your earring ships in two layers of packaging. The inner jewelry box holds the piece securely in position. The outer box takes the transit damage so the inner box doesn't have to. Before it goes into the box, the earring itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer — no movement, no contact, nothing shifts from our workshop to your door.

Shipping is via USPS with 100% insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, or damaged — we cover it in full. If an incorrect address was entered at checkout, José Lux refunds you completely. You either receive your earring in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That is the José Lux standard.

FAQ

This is listed as one earring. Can I order two?

Yes. Add two to your cart. We list it as one piece because that’s how most men wear it — one ear. Forcing a pair purchase when you want a single is an industry habit. We don’t do it.

What’s the difference between this and the square halo version?

The frame shape. This earring has a circular halo — one continuous row of CZ that follows the round shape of the center stone with no corners. The square halo version uses a four-sided frame with sharp corners. Same Moissanite center grade and size, same Swiss CZ for the halo, same post and closure. The difference is silhouette. Round reads as continuous and classic. Square reads as geometric and structured. Both are valid. It comes down to which frame shape you want on your ear.

What is Moissanite? Is it a diamond?

No. Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide — a different material with its own optical properties. It has more fire than diamond, meaning stronger rainbow dispersion in directional light. It is not a diamond. We won’t tell you it is. The center stone in this earring is GRA-certified: Color D, Clarity FL, Cut Excellent. That’s what it is, documented with a report number tied to your specific stone.

What does the GRA certificate cover?

The GRA Moissanite Grading Report confirms stone type (Moissanite), shape (Round Brilliant), measurements (6mm), carat weight (0.8ct), color (D), clarity (FL), and cut (Excellent). Each report has a unique number — the same number appears on the stone’s sealed pouch. The physical report, certificate card, and sealed pouch ship with the earring. This is documentation for your stone specifically, not a generic brand document.

How large does a 6mm 0.8ct round halo stud look on an ear?

The center stone is 6mm diameter. The round CZ halo adds a ring of stone around the full circumference. The overall disc reads larger than the center stone alone — the halo extends the visual footprint outward. On an adult male earlobe this reads as a full, confident stud without being theatrical. The circular frame keeps the total shape contained and clean.

Why six prongs instead of four?

At 0.8ct, a six-prong mount gives more holding contact around the stone’s girdle than four prongs. More contact points mean the stone is less likely to develop any play in the mount over years of daily wear. The profile stays open — six prongs at this scale do not block light entry at the sides. The stone is also raised above the disc plane, which gives the pavilion clearance and improves the directional fire visible from low angles.

How does the butterfly push-back closure work?

The post is threaded. The butterfly backing has two spring wings. Push the backing straight onto the post — the wings grip the thread and hold. To remove, pinch both wings simultaneously and pull straight back. The grip holds through movement, exercise, and sleep. It releases cleanly with deliberate pinch pressure. The wings are hand-formed at our workshop. The mechanism handles daily removal and reattachment without wearing out or losing grip tension over time.

Can I clean it properly?

Yes. Remove the butterfly backing completely. Clean the post, the rear face of the disc, and the butterfly wings separately with a soft brush and mild soapy water. For the halo stones and the center stone, work the brush around the six prong tips and between the CZ halo stones. Rinse thoroughly. Dry fully before reattaching the backing. A polishing cloth ships with every order for routine surface care.

What’s the difference between the Moissanite center and the Swiss CZ halo?

Two different stones, two different roles. The center is Moissanite — GRA-certified, Color D, Clarity FL. It is the main stone. The halo is Swiss CZ — set in a single row around the circular frame. CZ is the right choice for the halo: optically bright, consistent in size, and available in the precise small rounds that single-row halo work requires. The Moissanite fires as the center. The Swiss CZ holds the frame around it. Both are hand-set at our Vietnam workshop.

How long does the rhodium plating last?

Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear. Many José Lux customers re-plate at five years. Some have recorded eight years before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at our workshop — no time limit, no conditions. Whenever it’s needed, we handle it.

What does the warranty cover?

Moissanite center re-setting: labor always free, replacement stone at Hong Kong import cost only. Swiss CZ halo re-setting: always free, no conditions. Rhodium re-plating: always free, no time limit. What’s not covered: visible deformation from a drop or hard impact. José Lux inspects every case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we quote clearly before any work is done.

How does shipping work?

Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — we state that honestly. Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, including an incorrect delivery address, a full refund is issued.

Where is this earring made?

Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. The bench artisans who adjust your six prongs, set your CZ halo, form your butterfly closure, and plate your post have been doing this work for years — longer than most jewelry brands have been selling online. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every halo stone is individually seated. Every closure is hand-formed and tested. This is José Lux’s own workshop. The origin is the reason the craft is consistent.
