Handmade Moissanite Round Halo Ring — 10K & 14K Gold, GRA Certified Moissanite Center

José Lux builds the Moissanite Round Halo Ring in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold), in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. Gold weight is 6.26 g in 10K gold and 7.04 g in 14K gold. The center stone is Moissanite, GRA Certified, set in a raised prong collet at the top of the ring. Two concentric rings frame it: an inner halo of pavé-set Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia) stones circling the center, and a second, wider ring around that halo, left plain and cut with three fine parallel grooves instead of more stones. Short bracket supports connect this framed halo to the shoulders on either side, where the band tapers down smooth into the shank. Only the center stone is Moissanite; the inner halo is Swiss CZ, and the outer ring is grooved metal, not stone-set. Unlike our fully pavé-set halo rings, this design keeps the sparkle concentrated in the inner circle, with the grooved ring and smooth shoulders reading as clean architectural lines around it.

Setting the inner halo so it reads as one even circle takes its own kind of precision — every Swiss CZ stone has to sit at the same spacing and the same height all the way around, with no gaps and no crowding. The outer ring is cut afterward, with three fine grooves scored evenly around its circumference so the ring frames the pavé halo without competing with it. The bracket supports connecting the halo assembly to the shoulders are shaped and polished as a separate step, fitted flush on both sides before the shoulders taper smooth into the band. José Lux hand-sets the center stone first, then the inner halo, stone by stone, before the outer ring is grooved and the whole assembly gets its final polish. We've been alloying gold and setting Moissanite and Swiss CZ at the same bench in Hồ Chí Minh City for years, and a clean double ring like this one is where that consistency shows.

The Moissanite Center and Swiss CZ Halo — Center to Edge

The center stone is GRA Certified Moissanite — Color D-FL, colorless and internally flawless, Mohs 9.25. It ships with its own GRA report, carrying a unique laser-inscribed ID traceable to that specific stone. Moissanite isn't a diamond, and José Lux won't tell you it is. It's lab-created silicon carbide with its own optical signature — more fire than diamond, which means more rainbow flash under direct light.

The stones in the inner halo are Swiss CZ, not Moissanite. José Lux hand-sets each one at the bench so the halo sits as a tight, even circle around the center stone rather than a loose ring of mismatched spacing. The outer ring that frames the halo carries no stones at all — just three fine grooves cut into the metal. Swiss CZ doesn't carry a GRA report — that certification is specific to the Moissanite center. The center stone is the one piece of this ring with paperwork attached to it; the halo and grooved outer ring are built to frame it, not to compete with it.

Because the halo sits close and even around the center, the sparkle stays concentrated inside the two rings at the top of the ring — turn your hand and the halo catches light together with the center stone, while the grooved outer ring and the smooth shoulders keep the rest of the band understated.

The Gold and Karat Options

The band is solid gold — never gold-filled, never gold-plated. José Lux offers it in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold). 10K carries less pure gold and more of the harder alloy metals, so it resists everyday scratching a little better — a real factor on a ring built for daily wear. 14K carries more pure gold, which reads deeper and warmer, especially in Yellow Gold. Neither is the "better" metal — they're two different tradeoffs, and José Lux sells both instead of steering you toward one. The karat you pick only changes the band; the Moissanite center and Swiss CZ halo stay the same on both options.

Every karat comes in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. The color isn't a coating — it comes from the alloy formula, the ratio of copper, silver, zinc, or palladium mixed into the gold during alloying. José Lux's White Gold is nickel-free; the white tone comes from silver, zinc, or palladium in the mix, not nickel, which matters if you're sensitive to it.

Every ring goes through four stages at the José Lux workshop before it ships. We alloy 24K gold down to 10K or 14K by hand, in the exact ratio for the karat and color ordered. The band is cast from a 3D CAD design using lost-wax casting, then hand-set — the Moissanite center first, then the Swiss CZ inner halo — before the outer ring is grooved and the bracket supports and shoulders get their final polish. Before it leaves Hồ Chí Minh City, we test the karat with an XRF machine, check for nickel, and stamp the legal karat hallmark.

Certification

The center stone ships with a full GRA gemological report — Color D-FL, Mohs 9.25, and a unique report number traceable to that stone. It's a Moissanite report, not a diamond grading report, and José Lux states that plainly rather than let the paperwork imply something it isn't. The Swiss CZ inner halo stones are not individually certified — Swiss CZ is priced and set as an accent stone, not a graded one. The outer ring carries no stones, so there's nothing to certify there.

Warranty and Repairs

Every José Lux gold ring carries a lifetime warranty. Repairs are free — for life, no expiration date. Every prong and every inner halo stone on this ring is checked by hand before it ships, which is why a stone coming loose from normal daily wear is rare.

If a stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no impact — José Lux resets it for free. Swiss CZ resetting is always free, since José Lux imports these stones in bulk. Moissanite center resetting is always free as well. What's not covered: stone loss from a hard impact, a drop, or a strike against a hard surface. That's not treated as a manufacturing defect. José Lux reviews every case individually before deciding next steps, and if a repair falls outside the warranty, we'll still fix it at cost, with a quote before anything is done.

The same team that alloys the gold sets the Moissanite center, hand-sets the Swiss CZ inner halo, and cuts and polishes the grooved outer ring and bracket supports — nothing about this ring passes through a third-party factory. Two concentric rings built to sit exactly true to each other, with no pavé on the shoulders to hide behind, is less forgiving than it looks: every stone and every groove line has to sit exactly where it should. We've done it enough times to know where it goes wrong, and where it holds.
