José Lux has been hand-setting Moissanite for over a decade. The Snowflake Pendant is a cluster design — and it is the most stone-forward pendant we make. There is no visible metal frame, no open negative space, no polished silver background behind the stones. The entire pendant face is stone: a GRA-certified Moissanite at the center, surrounded by six Swiss CZ petals in a tight alternating arrangement that closes into a complete six-point snowflake. The snowflake silhouette is precise: six pear-shaped or marquise Swiss CZ stones positioned radially around the center Moissanite, their pointed tips forming the six outer points of the star shape. Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and José Lux won't tell you it is. At 6.3mm and 1ct equivalent, the center Moissanite is the largest stone in the composition and the visual anchor of the entire cluster. It has more fire than diamond — more rainbow dispersion in directional light. Surrounded by six CZ petals set at close quarters, that fire bounces and reflects between stones. In direct sunlight, the Snowflake Pendant fires from every point simultaneously. The center stone drives it. The six petals amplify it.

The six surrounding petal stones are Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia, not Moissanite. They are sized and cut to fit the snowflake geometry: set radially around the center stone with their wider ends touching the center Moissanite and their pointed tips forming the outer star points. Their function is to extend the sparkle across the full pendant face, define the snowflake silhouette in stone rather than metal, and create the cluster density that makes the pendant read as a solid disc of light. How the Pendant Looks in Person

The Snowflake Pendant sits on the collarbone as a compact, fully-bright pendant with no dark areas and no visible silver background. The full-face cluster construction means that from straight on, the pendant reads as pure light — every part of the pendant face is a faceted stone catching and throwing light simultaneously. The six-point silhouette is clearly readable as a snowflake or star shape, with the Moissanite center providing the brightest firing point and the CZ petals extending that sparkle to each of the six outer tips.

The Metal and Plating

The pendant and chain are both 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. A full-face cluster setting places more demand on the base metal than a single-stone pendant: the center stone mount and six surrounding petal mounts all share the same base, and the shared prong walls between adjacent stones have to hold tension in multiple directions at once. We use a properly gauged blank that supports all seven stone positions without flexing under the stress of daily wear.

The rhodium plated white gold finish is hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop. Not machine-dipped. Hand-done. On a full-face cluster pendant, hand-application matters most at the setting gallery — the underside of the pendant where the stone mounts meet the base. Machine-dipping leaves this area uneven. Hand-application covers it. The finish is what protects the silver and keeps the prong tips bright white against the stone faces over years of wear.

Rhodium is harder than gold. The rhodium plated white gold finish sits as a hard barrier between the silver and air — while it holds, the silver underneath stays bright white, mirror-polished, exactly as it left our workshop. The conservative baseline for this finish is three years of regular daily wear. Many customers report five years. The longest we've recorded: eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Warranty and Repairs

Every prong in the Snowflake cluster — center stone and all six petal settings — is adjusted by hand at our Vietnam workshop. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. That's by design.

If a stone does come loose or fall out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:

What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — a necklace dropped from height, caught and yanked, or showing visible deformation of the cluster base or prongs consistent with a fall or hard strike. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.

The artisans who hand-set your Moissanite center stone, hand-set all six CZ petal stones, and hand-plate your pendant and chain have been doing this work for years — longer than most jewelry brands have been selling online. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every stone in the cluster is seated by hand. Every pendant is plated by hand. This is José Lux's own workshop, not a third-party factory.

The Snowflake is the most stone-dense pendant we make. Seven stones set into a shared base with shared prong walls — the tolerance on every seat is tight. A petal stone seated even slightly off-axis disrupts the six-point silhouette. A shared prong that isn't properly tensioned loses two stones, not one.
