Handmade Moissanite Square Halo Ring — 10K & 14K Gold, GRA Certified Moissanite Center

José Lux builds the Moissanite Square Halo Ring in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold), in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. Gold weight is 4.93 g in 10K gold and 5.55 g in 14K gold. The center stone is Moissanite, GRA Certified, set in a raised square setting at the top of the ring. A tight pavé frame of Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia) stones halos the center, squaring off its outline. The same Swiss CZ stones continue down each shoulder, set into a fluted, hexagon-cut band pattern that runs the length of the ring. That's a different build than our full-Moissanite Square Halo, where every stone on the ring — halo included — is Moissanite. Here, one certified Moissanite center carries the ring, and the Swiss CZ halo and shoulder pattern frame it.

The shoulders on this ring do more work than a plain band. Vertical fluting runs down both edges, and the center of each shoulder is cut into a repeating hexagon lattice, with a Swiss CZ stone set inside each hexagon. Lining up that many small settings without breaking the pattern takes real bench time — every hexagon has to sit at the same depth and angle as the one above and below it. José Lux hand-sets the halo first, then works down into the shoulder lattice, stone by stone. Under the center stone, an open gallery lets light reach it from below as well as above. We've been alloying gold and setting Moissanite and Swiss CZ at the same bench in Hồ Chí Minh City for years, and a shoulder pattern this detailed is where that experience shows.

The Moissanite Center and Swiss CZ Halo — Center to Edge

The center stone is GRA Certified Moissanite — Color D-FL, colorless and internally flawless, Mohs 9.25. It ships with its own GRA report, carrying a unique laser-inscribed ID traceable to that specific stone. Moissanite isn't a diamond, and José Lux won't tell you it is. It's lab-created silicon carbide with its own optical signature — more fire than diamond, which means more rainbow flash under direct light.

The stones in the halo and the shoulder lattice are Swiss CZ (Cubic Zirconia), not Moissanite. José Lux hand-sets each one at the bench so the square halo sits flush against the center stone and the hexagon lattice reads as a continuous pattern down each shoulder. Swiss CZ doesn't carry a GRA report — that certification belongs to the Moissanite center alone. The center stone is the one piece of this ring with paperwork attached; everything around it is built to frame it.

Because the shoulder lattice carries the same Swiss CZ stones as the halo, the sparkle doesn't stop at the top of the ring — turn your hand and the hexagon pattern catches light along with the center stone.

The Gold and Karat Options

The band is solid gold — never gold-filled, never gold-plated. José Lux offers it in 10K gold (41.7% pure gold) and 14K gold (58.3% pure gold). 10K carries less pure gold and more of the harder alloy metals, so it resists everyday scratching a little better — a real factor on a ring built for daily wear. 14K carries more pure gold, which reads deeper and warmer, especially in Yellow Gold. Neither is the "better" metal — they're two different tradeoffs, and José Lux sells both instead of steering you toward one.

Every karat comes in Yellow, White, or Rose Gold. The color isn't a coating — it comes from the alloy formula, the ratio of copper, silver, zinc, or palladium mixed into the gold during alloying. José Lux's White Gold is nickel-free; the white tone comes from silver, zinc, or palladium in the mix, not nickel, which matters if you're sensitive to it.

Every ring goes through four stages at the José Lux workshop before it ships. We alloy 24K gold down to 10K or 14K by hand, in the exact ratio for the karat and color ordered. The band is cast from a 3D CAD design using lost-wax casting, then hand-set — the Moissanite center first, then the Swiss CZ halo and shoulder lattice — and polished to finish. Before it leaves Hồ Chí Minh City, we test the karat with an XRF machine, check for nickel, and stamp the legal karat hallmark.

Certification

The center stone ships with a full GRA gemological report — Color D-FL, Mohs 9.25, and a unique report number traceable to that stone. It's a Moissanite report, not a diamond grading report, and José Lux states that plainly rather than let the paperwork imply something it isn't. The Swiss CZ halo and shoulder stones are not individually certified — Swiss CZ is priced and set as an accent stone, not a graded one.

Warranty and Repairs

Every José Lux gold ring carries a lifetime warranty. Repairs are free — for life, no expiration date. Every prong and every hexagon setting on the shoulder is checked by hand before this ring ships, which is why a stone coming loose from normal daily wear is rare.

If a stone does come loose under everyday use — no drops, no impact — José Lux resets it for free. Swiss CZ resetting is always free, since José Lux imports these stones in bulk. Moissanite center resetting is always free as well. What's not covered: stone loss from a hard impact, a drop, or a strike against a hard surface. That's not treated as a manufacturing defect. José Lux reviews every case individually before deciding next steps, and if a repair falls outside the warranty, we'll still fix it at cost, with a quote before anything is done.

Our Workshop

José Lux works out of Hồ Chí Minh City, Vietnam. The same team that alloys the gold sets the Moissanite center, hand-sets the Swiss CZ halo and shoulder lattice, and polishes the band — nothing about this ring passes through a third-party factory. A hexagon lattice down both shoulders is one of the more detailed patterns we build: every setting has to sit level with the one next to it, or the line breaks where it shouldn't. We've done it enough times to know where it goes wrong, and where it holds.
