José Lux has been hand-setting Moissanite for over a decade. The Sunburst Pendant is what happens when a standard round halo is rejected in favor of something more deliberate. A uniform halo — every stone the same size, equally spaced — produces a clean circle that frames the center stone. The Sunburst halo does something different: the surrounding Swiss CZ stones alternate between larger and smaller in a continuous ring, so the outer edge of the halo is not a smooth circle but a radiating pattern of peaks and valleys — larger stones projecting outward, smaller stones receding between them. The pendant reads like a sunburst. The radiating silhouette is what separates it from every other round halo in our collection.

The visual effect is significant. A uniform halo makes the center stone look larger by adding a clean ring of sparkle around it. The sunburst halo does that and adds directional energy — the alternating stone sizes create the sense of light radiating outward from the center stone in all directions simultaneously. The Moissanite at the center is the source. The sunburst halo is the radiation pattern. In direct light, this pendant reads as a single bright star on the collarbone.
Every pendant is hand-set at our workshop in Vietnam. An alternating-size halo requires more precise stone selection and placement than a uniform halo. The larger and smaller stones in each alternating pair have to be matched in proportion so the sunburst peaks read as regular and intentional rather than random. The spacing between each stone has to be consistent around the full ring so the sunburst silhouette stays symmetric. Our artisans have been setting alternating halos long enough to know what a correctly executed sunburst looks like. That is the standard this pendant is built to.
The Center Stone — 6.3mm Moissanite, 1CT Equivalent
The center stone is GRA-certified Moissanite — Color D, Clarity FL. Colorless and internally flawless. 6.3mm round brilliant cut, 58 facets, 1ct equivalent weight. Each stone ships with its own GRA certificate carrying a unique report ID traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate, not a card.

Moissanite is lab-created silicon carbide. It is not a diamond and José Lux won't tell you it is. At 6.3mm and 1ct equivalent, this is a stone with real visual presence on the collarbone — large enough to read clearly at conversation distance, brilliant enough to dominate the composition even inside a sunburst halo. Moissanite has more fire than diamond, meaning more rainbow dispersion in directional light. In a sunburst setting where the surrounding stones are radiating outward from the center, that fire at the center stone reads as the origin point of all the light in the pendant. In direct sunlight, the 1ct Moissanite throws rainbow color in every direction while the surrounding CZ halo amplifies and extends it across the full sunburst perimeter.
The sunburst halo stones are Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia, not Moissanite. They alternate in size around the full ring: one larger CZ, one smaller CZ, repeating continuously. The larger stones project outward to form the sunburst peaks; the smaller stones sit between them to form the valleys. Their combined function is to create the radiating silhouette that defines this pendant, extend the sparkle across the full halo diameter, and amplify the center stone's fire by reflecting it back from multiple stone sizes and angles simultaneously. The Moissanite is the certified stone. The Swiss CZ is the sunburst architecture.
The Sunburst Halo — Alternating Stone Sizes
A standard round halo uses stones of uniform size. Every stone contributes equally to the ring perimeter, and the outer edge of the halo reads as a smooth circle. The sunburst halo uses an alternating pattern: larger CZ and smaller CZ stones alternate continuously around the ring. The larger stones are prong-set to project slightly outward from the ring baseline; the smaller stones sit between them at the baseline level. The result is an outer edge that reads as a series of peaks and valleys — a sunburst or starburst silhouette rather than a smooth circle.

The difference in appearance between a round halo and a sunburst halo at the same center stone size is significant. The round halo adds visual diameter cleanly. The sunburst halo adds visual diameter plus directional energy — the peaks of the larger stones at the outer ring read as rays extending from the center stone outward. The pendant reads as a star. At pendant scale, that radiating quality is visible at conversation distance and becomes fully apparent up close.
Executing the alternating pattern correctly requires more bench work than a uniform halo. Each stone pair — one large, one small — has to be matched in proportion to its neighbors so the sunburst peaks read as regular and symmetrical around the full ring. The spacing between stones has to account for the size difference at each position. If any pair is off proportion or off spacing, the sunburst reads as irregular. At José Lux, the alternating pattern is executed to the correct standard — a sunburst that reads as intentional geometric design, not as an inconsistent halo.
How the Pendant Looks in Person
The Sunburst Pendant sits on the collarbone as a radiating circular pendant with a clear star-like quality. The alternating large-small halo stones create a serrated outer edge that reads immediately as a sunburst pattern at any viewing distance. The 6.3mm Moissanite center stone is the visual anchor — the largest and brightest element in the composition, elevated on its prong mount above the halo ring.
In natural light, the center Moissanite fires with strong rainbow flashes. The surrounding sunburst halo catches that light and amplifies it across the full ring perimeter, with the larger halo stones throwing the most prominent individual flashes and the smaller stones filling in the sparkle between them. The overall effect is a pendant that reads as a single bright radiating object. There are no dark areas and no dead zones — the alternating stone sizes ensure that some part of the halo is always catching the available light source from every angle.
The rhodium plated white gold finish across the entire pendant — prong tips, halo setting, bail — sits bright white and mirror-polished. The cable chain lies flat at collarbone length. The pendant reads clearly at conversation distance as a sunburst, and the full detail of the alternating halo is visible on closer inspection. It is a pendant that rewards both distances.
The Chain — 18 Inches, Handcrafted Lobster Clasp
The chain is 925 sterling silver, cable-link style, 18 inches in length. 18 inches is the standard fit for virtually every woman — collarbone length, the right drop for a pendant this size. Every customer at José Lux who has purchased a necklace at this length has been satisfied with the fit. The cable links move freely and allow the sunburst pendant to hang flat against the collarbone so the full radiating silhouette reads as designed.

The lobster clasp is handcrafted at our Vietnam workshop. Not a pressed-out factory clasp. Hand-finished. It holds firm during wear — it does not release under pressure or vibration. When you want to remove the necklace, it opens cleanly with a single thumb press. Easy when you intend it. Secure when you don't. We've been making them long enough to know the difference between a clasp that holds and one that only looks like it will.
The Metal and Plating
The pendant and chain are both 925 sterling silver — 92.5% pure silver, 7.5% copper for structural strength. The sunburst halo requires a base that holds both the inner ring prongs and the outer alternating-size stone positions in correct relative geometry. The larger halo stones and smaller halo stones are set at slightly different heights relative to the ring baseline — the larger stones projecting outward to create the sunburst peaks. That height difference is maintained by the base structure. We use a properly gauged blank that supports both prong heights without flexing.
The rhodium plated white gold finish is hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop. Not machine-dipped. Hand-done. The artisans doing this work have been plating silver for years. On a sunburst halo, hand-application matters at the prong tips of both the larger and smaller halo stones — the plating has to cover both heights evenly so both stone sizes read the same finish in the completed pendant. Machine-dipping leaves the smaller, lower-profile stones under-covered. Hand-application covers them consistently.
Rhodium is harder than gold. The rhodium plated white gold finish sits as a hard barrier between the silver and air — while it holds, the silver underneath stays bright white, mirror-polished, exactly as it left our workshop. The conservative baseline for this finish is three years of regular daily wear. Many customers report five years. The longest we've recorded: eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, wear frequency, and chemical exposure all affect the timeline. When the rhodium eventually wears and you want it restored, ship it back. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — no time limit, no conditions.
Certification

Every necklace ships with the full GRA gemological certificate for the Moissanite center stone. The report confirms Color D, Clarity FL, Round Brilliant cut, 6.3mm, 1ct equivalent weight — and carries a unique report number traceable to your specific stone. Physical certificate, not a card.
Warranty and Repairs
Every prong in the Sunburst halo — center stone and all alternating halo positions — is adjusted by hand at our Vietnam workshop. Stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. That's by design.
If a stone does come loose or fall out under everyday use — no drops, no hard impacts, just daily wear — José Lux handles it:
- Swiss CZ sunburst halo stones: Re-setting or replacing stones is always free. José Lux imports CZ in volume and absorbs the cost entirely — this applies to both the larger and smaller alternating stones.
- Moissanite center stone: If the center stone needs replacement, José Lux charges at our import cost from our Hong Kong supplier — never at retail. Re-setting labor is always free.
- Rhodium re-plating: Always free at the José Lux workshop. No time limit, no conditions.
What's not covered: stones lost due to hard physical impact — visible deformation of the halo ring or center prongs consistent with a fall or hard strike. José Lux inspects each case individually. If a repair falls outside the warranty, we still fix it — at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.

Our Workshop
Our workshop is in Vietnam. The artisans who hand-set your Moissanite center stone, hand-set the alternating sunburst CZ halo ring, and hand-plate your pendant and chain have been doing this work for years — longer than most jewelry brands have been selling online. Every prong is adjusted by hand. Every halo stone — large and small — is seated by hand. Every pendant is plated by hand. This is José Lux's own workshop, not a third-party factory.
The sunburst alternating halo requires more selection work than a uniform halo. The large and small stones in each alternating position have to be sized in the correct proportion to each other before setting begins — if the large stones are too dominant or the small stones too similar in size, the sunburst silhouette loses definition. That pre-setting selection and the subsequent bench work to seat each stone at the correct height in the alternating pattern is what produces the sunburst effect rather than a standard halo. We've done it enough times to know exactly what it needs to look like. That's the standard every Sunburst Pendant leaves our workshop at.
Your Necklace Arrives Protected — Two-Layer Box Packaging, USPS Insured

Your necklace ships in two layers of packaging. The inner jewelry box holds the necklace securely in place. The outer box protects everything during transit. On top of that, the necklace itself is wrapped in a shock-absorbing layer before it goes into the box — so there's no movement, no impact damage, nothing shifts in transit.
Shipping is via USPS with 100% jewelry insurance on every order. If something goes wrong in transit — lost, delayed, damaged — we cover it. Even if an address was entered incorrectly at checkout, José Lux refunds you in full. You either receive your necklace in perfect condition, or you get your money back. That's the José Lux standard.
FAQ
What makes the sunburst halo different from a regular round halo?
A regular round halo uses stones of uniform size — every stone is the same, equally spaced, producing a smooth circular outer edge. The sunburst halo uses alternating stone sizes: larger CZ stones and smaller CZ stones alternate continuously around the ring. The larger stones project outward to form peaks; the smaller stones sit between them as the valleys. The outer edge of the halo is therefore not a smooth circle but a radiating, serrated silhouette — the shape of a sunburst or starburst. That radiating quality is visible at conversation distance and gives the pendant a directional energy that a uniform halo doesn't have. The center stone reads as the source; the sunburst reads as the light radiating from it.
What are the halo stones made of?
Swiss CZ — cubic zirconia. Not Moissanite. The center stone is the GRA-certified Moissanite, 6.3mm, 1ct equivalent. The sunburst halo ring uses two sizes of Swiss CZ in an alternating pattern — larger stones at the sunburst peaks, smaller stones at the valleys between them. Both sizes are matched in color and brightness to the Moissanite center stone, but they are a different material. José Lux states this clearly because we want you to know exactly what you're buying.
How does the pendant look on the neck?
The Sunburst Pendant reads on the collarbone as a radiating star-like circle. The alternating large-small halo stones create a clearly serrated outer edge that distinguishes this pendant from a standard round halo at any viewing distance. At 6.3mm, the Moissanite center stone fires with strong rainbow flashes in directional light, reading as the dominant element of the composition. The sunburst halo around it adds sparkle in a radiating pattern — the larger peak stones throwing the most prominent individual flashes, the smaller valley stones filling in continuous sparkle between them. The rhodium plated white gold finish sits bright white and mirror-polished across the entire pendant. It is a bold, bright, directional pendant with clear visual identity.
Is 18 inches the right length for me?
18 inches is the standard collarbone length — it sits just above the sternum on most women. Every customer at José Lux who has purchased a necklace at this length has been satisfied with the fit. At 18 inches, the sunburst pendant sits at collarbone center where the full radiating silhouette reads clearly against the neckline and the center stone is in full light.
How secure is the lobster clasp?
The lobster clasp on every José Lux necklace is handcrafted at our Vietnam workshop — not a standard factory-pressed clasp. The mechanism holds firm during wear and does not release under pressure or vibration. When you want to remove the necklace, it opens cleanly with a single thumb press. Easy when you intend it. Secure when you don't.
Does the necklace tarnish?
Not while the rhodium plating holds. The rhodium plated white gold finish is a hard barrier between the 925 sterling silver and air — while it's intact, the silver underneath stays bright white and doesn't tarnish. The finish holds for at least 3 years under regular daily wear. Many José Lux customers go 5 years. Some have gone 8. When the plating eventually wears through, you'll notice the finish losing its brightness — that's your signal to send it back. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop, no time limit, no conditions.
How long does the plating last?
The rhodium plated white gold finish is hand-applied at our Vietnam workshop — not machine-dipped. Conservative baseline: three years of regular daily wear. Many José Lux customers come back to re-plate after five years. We've recorded eight years of daily wear before the first re-plate. Skin chemistry, how often you wear it, and whether you take it off around chemicals all affect the timeline. Re-plating is always free at the José Lux workshop — whenever the time comes, we take care of it.
What does the warranty cover?
The center stone prongs and all sunburst halo settings on José Lux Sunburst Pendants are built to hold — stone loss from normal daily wear is extremely rare. If it happens with no evidence of impact damage: Swiss CZ halo stones — both large and small — are re-set for free. José Lux imports CZ in volume and absorbs the cost entirely. Moissanite replacement is at our Hong Kong import cost only. Re-plating is always free. What's not covered: impact damage — visible deformation consistent with a fall or hard strike. José Lux still fixes impact damage, at cost, with a clear quote before anything is done.
How does shipping work?
Free USPS to the United States and Europe. Tracking sent the day your order ships. Estimated 7–14 business days. European orders can see customs delays — José Lux is honest about that. Every shipment is 100% insured. If something goes wrong in transit for any reason, including an incorrect delivery address, a full refund is issued.
Where is this necklace made?
Handmade at the José Lux workshop in Vietnam. Our artisans specialize in silver. An alternating-size sunburst halo requires stone selection and bench placement that a uniform halo does not — each large-small pair has to be proportionally matched so the sunburst peaks read as regular around the full ring. The center stone prongs have to be set at the correct height above the halo ring so the Moissanite reads as elevated and dominant. The lobster clasp is handcrafted at the same workshop. The rhodium plating is applied by hand at the same workshop. This is José Lux's own operation. The origin isn't a footnote — it's why the quality is consistent.
